is everyone here really so super honest??

just unbox it and throw it in your suitcase, do you really think customs give enough shits to go through your suitcase to nail you for a couple of quids worth of tax.

eatsdirt, my experience of DW link bikes is the same, good climbers but very poor descender’s, seems to take too much impact to get the back moving and they never seem to keep up and feel very harsh.

after demoing yet another utterly awful 29er on the weekend i can’t see me owning one ever.

it was a five 29er FYI.

i don’t believe there is much in the way of R&D that goes into roadies these days, the UCI rules are so rigid there isn’t a lot of designing left to do, i’d me more tempted to describe them as stylists rather than engineers.
on the factories note most chinese factories i’ve seen have made UK factories look like dickensian cotton mills, sweat shops they ain’t.

i really hope 650b does win the clown wheel wars, there’s no real world difference from a 26er and it keeps the true clown wheels(29ers) where they belong, on cyclocross and shopping bikes.

never been a fan of horses on roads full stop, especially when 1 1/2 tons of meat with a mind of its own is being controlled by a 12 child.

everyone is missing the main question about this race which is what are canyon hiding underneath that little bag around the shock and linkage.

the steeper and rootier the better for me and proper jumps with gaps in them none of this roller silliness. bollocks to making it accessible to everyone if the terrain is above your skill level ride somewhere else.

    that is all.

probably wasn’t deliberate just a typical girly driver trying to text, do her lippy and put on some outrageously big sunglasses, all things which are far more important than controlling the car.

i didn’t remember how much of a faff riding without a dropper was until i rode a few bikes with olde worlde standard posts at a demo day yesterday, even the god awful kronolog post was better than a standard pipe.

these will take some beating on a performance/£ basis, very flexible with regards different wheel standards and travel adjustments too should you wish to change frames in the future.

all things being equal there is an 11mm difference between 26″ and 650b wheels (radius).
if you genuinely think that will make a difference to how a bike rides or feels your either crazy or you have measuring instruments used to weigh atomic particles instead of an arse.

i think i may have been there on the wet windy day was it sunday april 14?
but generally the uplift service is the slickest i’ve seen outside of chairlifts and the trails are good fun and should be manageable by most competent riders.

couple of people i know seem to like theirs, they are quite heavy for what they are though, not that a kg or 2 here and there makes much difference.
better to have a strong frame than suffer the problems of the meta 5.

i was a dedicated MTB only guy for years, then i worked away in oxford for a year and got a road bike due to the lack of any real mountains nearby, i was surprised how fast i started enjoying my nightly 20 miler and how much difference it made to my MTB riding, no bail out gears get you stronger quite quickly.

MTB if you enjoy riding your bike.

Roadie if you enjoy suffering on your bike.

in my experience some people just crash better than others, i think a lot of it comes down to knowing when your past the point of not saving it and just bail out.

why do people always talk about air leaks when stanchions wear, the air spring is on the INSIDE of the leg you muppets.
the seals are there to keep shite out not air in.

650b is just a way for the the bike industry to revert to 26″ wheels with fewer blushes.

about a year ago i was working around oxford, when i came across a chap pumping up his roadie tyre with a hand pump, he looked quite shocked when i pulled up in my white van and handed him a track pump.

but back on topic, you really should be prepared to fix a puncture especially if your out with children.

the plod probably haven’t got back to you because they are generally only good for stealing small children’s moto x bikes and sitting in speed camera vans eating pies.
The police are some of the most dishonest people i have ever had dealings with.

split pivot or ABP, whatever you want to call it its still a traditional linkage driven single pivot only it has a cool sounding an-acronym and a god awful shock(for riders heavier than a small child)

yep saddle looks too high to me too, legs are almost dead straight at the bottom of the stroke even with your toes down.

probably some more propriety shock bullshit to hide the fact that trek are still using the same suspension tech they were using 20 years ago.
also probably didn’t make a fuss about it because they know all the sheeple who bought long travel wagon wheeler’s have sold them to buy 650b bikes because pinkbike and bikeradar say they are what the cool kids ride now.

the bike park is right next to bryn bettws lodge, at the end of graveyard to the right or the fire road that leads to zigzags and the final descent, as far as i’m aware the wall is all diversion free.

    b45her

yeah just ride the wall you can have a play on the bike park as well then, you cant miss it as you exit the graveyard section.

no problem with my tesla hub’d wheels either, superbly built incredibly smooth bearings and they don’t sound like a skeleton having a **** in a biscuit tin either, unlike some other well known hubs i’ve owned.
