i’d rather pi55 in my own eyes than ride cwmcarns XC loop, the climb is horrible and quite tough then the reward is the most boring featureless descent of any trail centre I’ve ever visited, why not just pedal a few runs at BPW? the way the uplift is a reasonably fit rider can get in just as many runs as an uplifted one.

the cable is always the week spot of any dropper no matter who makes it, cables and dropper posts should never ever collide in the same sentance.
the reverb is the only reliable remotely operated dropper post i’ve seen.

ride the wall trail from bryn bettws lodge, you can ride the full trail then have a play in the bike park/skills area when your done.

i’d be amazed if you can get a 5 bolt narrow wide ring.

i’m 5ft 9″, with pretty average body proportions, the blur medium felt tiny compared to other brands i have ridden.

bad workman blaming his tools me thinks, i can get just about any tyres onto a flow or arch rim using just my hands most of the time or with just a slight assist from 1 small tyre lever.

WTF?! This is nuts. You need to suck it up, accept responsibility, learn that drafting can be dangerous, and stop thinking about a move which will only add to the depressing ‘where there’s blame’ culture that’s helping wreck this country.

I’m with you wl, this culture of blaming everyone but yourself for an accident in the hope of getting a few quid makes me sick. dsb181 have you considered suing the riders in front too for not pointing out the hole or maybe the tarmacing company for making the road too rough or maybe havea pop at the paramedics too for not using your favourite type of plaster for your booboo’s.

    Rule 5, that is all.

i had to go up a size from my usual medium, santa cruz’s test riders must be T-rex’s. the TT’s are soo short

not got a problem with armour, but when the storm trooper is mincing down a blue trail at walking pace on his carbon V10 i find it quite amusing.

would have been much better if the same loop was reversed, don’t know what imbecile decided to make all the decent descents climbs, what a tool.

I popped into BPW today..it was absolutely hooching – I have never seen so many audis or body armour.

and most of them are total mincers.

not got a pic but the cable goes above the main pivot on the NDS then clamps to the chainstay and goes around and underneath the chainstay into the hole in the brace.

6000 ft or so of climbing, so not a great deal really considering the distance, my 20 mile local loops tend to include about 3000 ft.

not grumpy just sick of constant “who can i claim off” threads, if your not paying attention and hit a hole it’s your fault, if you don’t have the bike handling ability to avoid a stationary patch of uneven tarmac you have no business sharing a highway with other road users and pedestrians.

you don’t have to be “brilliant at riding” to avoid a pot hole just aware of your surroundings, if a hole is big enough to have you off you should be able to spot the damn thing and not ride into it.

good job the forestry commission are chopping down all the trees before folk like you start riding into them and making compo claims.

Yet another “who can i blame for my own incompetence” thread.

you can’t change gears so you show a (very small) picture of a brake rotor???

starting to suspect operator error. of technical son-in-law syndrome.

as jonk has said, cycle the fork up and down a few times to draw the oil into the damper, did you you cycle the the damper shaft while it was out of the lowers to get the oil out of it? you may have too much oil in there if you didn’t.

it can be done on pre 2011 forks, i’ve converted 2006 2007 and 2008 talas 36’s from talas to floats, if it can go one way it can go the other.

i’m a former blur LTc owner and i definitely wouldn’t pay any sort of premium for the VPP back end or the build quality. the Five i had before it and the strive i had after it are both better bikes quality wise and in ride characteristics.

If you really want a twin link type rear end go for the maestro system, it rides much better than VPP or DW

so much fashionable hate of avid brakes, if you know how to bleed them properly they are utterly reliable and more powerful than lots of more trendy stoppers the X0 trail brakes i have make xt brakes feel like rim brakes that have just been ridden through a muddy puddle, ditto for sram, X9 and X0 stuff is superb. most CB stuff is total gash though.

i’ve lived in south wales all my life and spent the biggest part of the last 5 years working all over the uk, compared to most city’s i’ve worked in merthyr is a rural paradise, if you want to experience true filthy shithole estates try nottingham, derby, oxford, liverpool, aberdeen, dundee, northhampton, sheffield, leeds, birmingham or reading. the gurnos estate would be considered upper middle class in most of the above mentioned towns and cities.
