Also rode it again today, for the second and probably last time, it’s just not worth the 30 minute drive to get there, I have no idea how they managed to make a loop with so much climbing have such terrible descents, think my bike spent more time being lifted through gates than it did going along the “Descent”

Rode it today but have mixed feelings, the climb is a featureless muddy slog at the moment but the mud is the only thing that made the decent entertaining.
In the summer when its dry the climb will be nicer but I fear the decent will be rather boring.

It the tune of the shock it needs to be medium medium if your over about 11 stone instead of the light light tune they are supplied with.

It’s a 2013 frame dude, the 2014 will either be full alloy with a non kashima shock or a kashima shock and a carbon rear end.

i have the exact same frame and colour myself (bought through silverfish might i add) great service too, one of the best distributors to do business with in my experience.

29ers never really took off outside of murica, the inflated sales figures for 29ers are because everyone and their dog buys them on cycle to work schemes to plod up and down cycle paths, outside of xc races and surrey they are a bit of a rarity among proper mountain bikers.

it is where i live and ride, and just about every distributor i spoke to at corebike and bikeplace last week said the same thing, 29er trail bikes above about £1000 simply dont sell outside of the south of england.

ive demo’d a mojo and was very very underwhelmed, 140mm travel xc bike decends like a dog.

owned an LTC and it was a total nuisance never ever stopped creaking and wasn’t particularly spectacular to ride plus its geometry is suited to T-rex’s, the strive i replaced it with was a far better and cheaper bike.
currently own an SB66 and its so much more planted than the blur i wouldn’t put them in the same category of bike, its stiffer plusher and a better climber than the LTc despite being a 5lb heavier build.

buy the SB its not called a super bike for nothing.

yet more reason not to invest in the most overhyped brakes on the planet.

superstar kevlar pads here too, mine are silent with them.

X0 trails are comfortably the best brake on the market at the moment in my opinion.

get them out, its very very rare for a bearing to be made for a frame, it’s almost always the frame thats designed around the bearings.

wouldn’t even bother touching them, too small to matter.

What rsvktm said, your tape has probably split somewhere on a spoke hole burr or something.

had an LTc and it was a hugely underwhelming bike, with the bronson being nothing more than a blur with more tyre clearance i cant see it being much different.
Santa cruz are the yank Orange, adequate bikes but massively overpriced and over rated.

DHD people don’t hate 650b they hate the bullshit the marketing folk are spewing out to push them.

the SB isn’t designed to be plush, its designed to be fast and efficient.

why so much love for shimano? is total failure to operate properly in muddy conditions and never ending cable changing and adjusting a positive thing now.
sram might feel a bit agricultural but once its fitted and set it stays that way without constant fettleing and pampering.

I’m with the majority of this thread regarding Santa Cruz bikes, never ridden a Bronson but the blur LTc I had was the most over rated bike I’ve ever owned both the five I had before it and the canyon strive I have now out perform it in every way.

send some photo’s of a bike with some unusual wear on the chainstay pivot to hotlines earlier in the week and a new frame was on its way the same day.

the only problem with avids is back shed “mechanics”. bleeding them is simple if you have any idea what the bleeding process is meant to achieve and your not just following some instructional video on yootoob.

elixirs are awesome brakes, nearly every single problem reported about them can be put down to people not knowing how to bleed them properly.

that’s also the reason people rave about shimano brakes, they are pretty unremarkable really but a chimp could bleed them.

shimano and look cleats are not interchangable, keo pedals are made by look.

nah talas are cack full stop when ridden alongside floats or vans.

talas to float takes about 20 minutes to do, and costs 80-100 quid for the parts. best thing you can do to talas forks in my opinion.

i have one and its a brilliant bike, the rear end is rather linear out of the box but a couple of quid on volume reducers and its spot on, i’ve done gravity enduro’s, uplift days, the brecon beast and the octoberfest on mine. This will upset some fashion bikers but it absolutely trounces the Blur LTc it replaced uphill or down.

talas forks are notorious for having poor sensitivity to small bumps, convert them to floats it will be the best 80-100 quid you’ll ever spend on a bike.

there you go then OP it’s been done already so there’s no shock value for you, may as well use a suitable machine.

my view on medical treatment is never to trust any private practitioners no matter what discipline they are from, they are there to make money so often drag out long unnecessary treatment plans which often do bugger all or in my case made the problem worse.

go the GP/NHS route, they got my knee sorted in no time for £0

ebay take the piss these days, your almost guaranteed to have some dodgy **** try to claim a partial refund off you after they have the item too. never use it any more.

it’s not worth the 30 minute trip from my house let alone 5 hours, cwmcarn has always been a piss poor excuse for a trail.

just email sun ringle, they sent me a full exploded drawing of both hubs with all the bearing sizes and part numbers.

its long gone now though along with the wheels, do yourself a favour and get shot of them all the reports of quick bearing wear are true.

“enduro” is just another buzz word the bike industry has picked up on try and sell us products we already have, its just trail riding with timed sections.
its a fun race format but certainly nothing new.
