1/ frame cracked at the water bottle bosses , new front triagle after 7 weeks

2/ 3 months later the new frame had a catastropic failure at the seat tube, another 8 week wait for a new front triangle

3/ rear drop out on the drive side snapped clean off, ,they refused a replacement claiming it was crash damage (its difficult not to come off a bike when the rear wheel has wrapped its self around the swingarm.

just for comparison the next bike i bought was a 2007 trek ex9, i just mentioned to the owner of the bike shop that the paint was a bit flakey on the top tube and i had a brand new frame withing 3 days .

i often ride up the rhigos and bwlch on a roadie and an mtb , roadies are not easier up the hills their just faster up them , faster down too .

still not as much fun as a mountain bike though .

the bwlch would be a good idea, there are three climbs you can do to the same finish by the icecream van and just across the valley is the rhigos mountain which is another very long drag.

i’d say its all down to how you ride , i’ve owned an ex9 and currently have a five , if going up is your main priority go for the ex its a marginaly better climber but theres not much in .

when it comes to decending their not even comparable ,the ex is totaly outclassed , only a total wendy would claim the ex is more fun at a trail center .

ive got a 2008 reign ,(the first of the newer design).
their great bikes , they pedal well and decend very well , its quite a light frame for a 6 incher too .
