    i have a string ridge and a seedhouse 2sl , the stringridge is a four season tent and the seedhouse is three season although i have used it in glencoe in the winter without any problems

    have a look at the Big Agnes tents they are all really easy to pitch ( i can do it ) can be be pitched without the inner or just the inner . full mosi net . i used mine for a three month tour and it was fantastic when i got back back i got rid of my hilleberg that i used to think was the best

    redhall garden centre in edinburgh has piles of timber but i don’t know prices , also i will be taking down a few trees here in the burgh shortly just waiting for necessary permissions to arrive

    i used to burn offcuts from a local sawmill which were free to uplift most of it was softwood which burnt hot and quick and used to stain the glass but it was free

    start with a good lawn rake and a general grass feed then keep on top of it , if possible use a decent mower with a back roller and use it regularly twice a week is best or look on gumtree my son got yards of turf free to uplift or call me in to sort it out

    i had a lovely de rosa neo primato until i sold it last week , it was stunning to ride with a full campag record carbon gruppo i only sold it cos it was marginally too big for me . expensive but not silly money

    this will vary with where you are in the country but in edinburgh roughly 120 to 140 less if you leave the tyres on ,if near a major english city i would expect that to rise to perhaps 150 -160

    i had an uncle who lost one aged 21 after a bike accident. he was 79 when he died and it didn’t slow him down much in life he was still camping and caravanning till his mid seventies and was a noted scottish country dancer

    i have a de rosa neo primato and find it really comfortable not exactly a race bike but definitely suitable for sportives
