Finally got it and built up, love it, absolutely love it ! Have the new XT stoppers on there and they are unreal. On par with the 2010 Saints I have on my FS.

Fox 36’s, Crossmax SX, XTR / XO and comes in at a smidge under 27lbs.

Cool, although I think when the box goes above a combined dimennsion total of 60 inches or something it goes Parcel Force.

Yes, thats a great find. £20 isn’t bad, plus I think it would solve it. Do non ramped chainrings make a difference?

I could never understand e-cheques…..they always take about 5 days to clear!? Just dont send the item until you have withdrawn the cash, thats what I always do. but generally now try to steer clear of using Ebay and PP, just a mahooosive RIP OFF. PP is regulated by the FSA like the rest of our banks……imagine if you bank charged you 3% for deposting money !?!

I thought the Hectic headtube would mean a change of forks….but I just bought the reducer headset from Superstar for 40 squid. Means I can still use my Fox 36’s with 1 1/8th steerer.

Hard core comic book following…..FX are awesome…..one the best fights scenes EVER, up there with the lobby scene from Matrix….plus the chic is WAY hotter than Trinity!!

But the big blue dude walking aronud for half the film with his wanger out is a little off puting….

Def worth a watch though !

I love it reading posts from riders saying the products are shite and Brants getting no more of my money. Hilarious….as fickle as football supporters !

Taking a product from conception to market is rediculously expensive, regardless of the product and market. I was involved at GM. To bring frames to the market in that space of time is pretty impressive, but for that value compromises are made. OK, there were some ‘issues’….but on a frame for £250 or so….FFS !?! I’ve had 4 O-O frames, and had to fettle with 2, but sort of felt a little more connected to them. PLus I agree with seth-enslow666, how many Trek / Spesh / Kona / Giant employees, let alone designers come onto this forum and offer support and answer questions….

If you don’t like them, don’t buy them, go ride a consumer bike like all the other hundreds of thousands of magazine followers.

    Formulas Vs Saints

I always at least try to attempt to bleed my brakes myself if I get issues, sucessful 9 / 10 times. I could never seem to get the levers to feel solid on the Formulas. Plus when I used to take them to the LBS, they always used to mutter something under their breath when they saw the brakes, maybe we just didn’t know the best method to bleed. I like the saints as they are just simple to maintain.

I’m also pretty heavy on my brakes…..a 2hr decent in Mammoth and zero fade. I really like them !

I can give you first hand experience of the following:

    2011 Codes
    2011 Code R
    2010 Formula The One
    2008 Hope M2
    2010 Saints

All with 180mm back and 200mm front.

Without a shadow of doubt, I will never go back from using the Saints, you compromise on the weight (I also run them on a Yeti 575 as well as a Demo 8) as they are certainly not the lightest but for my style of riding they are perfect. In that I mean I prefer a very on-off brake.

Although I rode some of the new (XT M785) trail brakes at Sea Otter and they were mustard !!!! Tempted to buy a set for my 575. Would be interested to see any first hand experience of these if anyone has them.

I was in a similar position recently. Ive just returned from living in Socal, daily ride was a Demo 8, perfect for the stuff we were riding. Generally the other guys were on V-10s and older Giant Glorys, so big plough bikes. Trails were big chunk, 10 – 20ft drops and some big rock gardens.

Before I came back I gave some thought as to what I should bring back. I swapped the Demo for a freeride build. A KHS Lucky 7, exaxtly the same frame as the Azonic B-52 over here. I tried to build it up as light,as possible so it would be ‘kind’ of rideable. Zochi 66s (180mm), swapped the Van R coil for a Roco WC air can, light DH wheelset but still 1×9. Came in about 38lbs. I could just get away with taking it on the AM trails.

That for me is perfect for session days at Woburn, Chicksands and Aston.

Worth look at something similar, SC Bullit, Demo 7, SC VP Free with a 180mm fork.

Considered one of these….KHS Lucky / Azonic B-52. I have a Roco WC Air on mine but ran a Van R coil up until a while ago….the thing is awesome…..7.3″ travel. Might sell the frame if you’re interested. (Its a large)

The Fox 36’s on the 516 are the new Talas. They are adjustable but only 160 – 120. Not like the previous model where the travel adjustment was 160 – 140 – 120. I prefer the old adjustment, as I like the 140.

    O-O Scandal was 18.9lb

    Litespeed Obed was 18.6lb

I had a vocal 575 frame…..in the end I found it was grime between the frame and the hanger. Took the hanger off cleaned it, and Robert’s your Dad’s Brother !!

It doesn’t really count for much these days stating something is a gift. It really depends on the declared value and it it is used / new.

If you state the value is under $100 – $150 and is used, it will get in under the Customs Radar. But then as you’ve stated the value at $100 with the shipper, if it gets lost you’ll only be able to claim $100. So its a little risk to trade off.

I’m based in So Cal, and have shipped a few things home to mates back in the UK, a Go Pro HD being one and it worked out fine.

Not sure what model you are looking to get but the 1080p HD is $300, chest mount is another $40, shipping $20, so prolly 220GBP in total.

The 960 is $180, but it doesn’t have the 60fps option.

Ive had 2. They are super sweet frames….actually pretty flexy and comfy. First one was set up rigid with high end bits, the thing weighed 18.4lbs!!

The pink one was rigid initially but I swapped out a Fox 130. 23lbs with olgd stuff thrown on.

Bought my P7 frame out here in California for $200 in a closeout sale……..thats £130 !!

Built it up with Spesh Roval, RS Sektor, X-7 (1×9) RF Evolve cranks and Atlas bars and stem and XT M775. Total cost $1500 (£1000)

Yes I had that problem, I ran them lower than recommended and the travel adjust would get sticky….I’d have to sort of pull them up to extend them.

New Sektors….the new PIKE apparently…plus lighter.

I’ve had 3 x EBB frames. ALL of them start to get vocal after a while. The only thing I found to keep them quiet was copper slip….has absolutely no affect what-so-ever to keeping it tight / working loose.

You put grease on bolts to stop them rusting and to make it easier to remove…..it doesn’t mean they work their way loose as they are covered in slippy stuff !?!

Come back and leave a review in 12 months time when your bracket is loose and the battery lasts for 20 mins.

When lights are concerned, you really get what you pay for.

Is 2.3″ classed as Full Suspension? ;o)

But I’m liking the AM hardtail option….one of the new Ragleys looks nice !!!

Er yes…I dropped the whole Clown Bike façade years ago after owning 4 of the things.

The entire “It just rolls over stuff better” is bullsh1t. Kind of works if you’re running rigid, but when you have bouncy forks having 29″ wheels means nothing, or it didn’t to me anyhow. I’m sure there will be hundreds of 29er riders itching to reply and disprove the fact, but if they’re brutally honest, I bet the majority of them couldn’t tell the difference if they were blindfolded.
