Sven – love that idea never thought of that. #problemsolved.com

Was simply thinking about a half link chain in case I sim[ply couldn’t get the required tension due to the ration and the fact theres only 15mm adjustment front and back.

I’m the event organiser for CX in the City, hosted by Velobants.cc, does anyone fancy coming to race at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes on Saturday 28th September? Its the same venue as the 2014 World Cup! Our event is more grass roots CX, trying to encourage as many people in to the sport as possible.

Its going off this year, we had 630 riders last year, and won the CCXL award for Best Race and Best Venue and this year its even bigger; Red Bull DJ Truck, Unicorner, CX steps etc, prizes to win like a Trek Crockett and Hunt Wheels. Plus we are also trying to beat the BC record of having 100+ riders in a womens CX race. All female entries get the chance to win a new Trek Crockett courtesy of Trek UK supported by Helen Wyman – whos also racing.

Central League is a really friendly league and a great place to race.

When you say “Not showing segments when completed” what do you mean exactly?

Do the segments show whilst you are riding them? – If not have you starred them all and are they all enabled in the menu of your 520?

Or do you mean they don’t show up when you upload your ride once complete to Strava? – If this then have you got GPS and GLONASS for additional accuracy?

I know the Sektor is a decent fork, really wanted to try out the X-Fusion Velvet, after it beat the equiv Sektor / Fox etc last year in the MBUK test.

The Commencal just looks LOTS of fun !!! But agree the components look shoddy and I’ll prob upgrade the brakes ASAP.

    Parkwood

Would love it, I think it looks perfect, but have a window of about 3 weeks or so due to C2W scheme 🙁

Think the 456 Evo is the leader at the mo. Best in terms of spec and price. Love the Commencal, looks a lot of fun, can’t find that many reviews, plus spec will need upgrading sharpish !

If you sent the item to a different address to the one the buyer has registered on Paypal then you are screwed, if the buyer raises a Paypal dispute then you will lose.

This exact thing happened to me, seller asked me to send it to his company address, someone signed for it and it disappeared. It was a 300 squid item. The buyer raised a case on Paypal, I put my case details forward, stating he requested it to be sent to a different address, I even sent the email the buyer had sent to me, but Paypal DO NOT take emails as evidence in a case resolution!!! RIDICULOUS I know.

I simply do not use Paypal or Ebay anymore, apart form the rip off selling fees and Paypal fees the cover is actually worthless.

Has he raised a Paypal dispute? If not, close your Paypal account and run. If he has raised a case, then obviously your account will be negative the sale amount. Its tough to get around that other than refusing to pay the negative balance. But Paypal do pass debt above a certain amount to Debt Collection agencies, either way its shit.

Only thing you could do, I know this has worked in the past, is raise a small claims court case against Paypal. Taking an email as evidence etc to a case like that would almost certainly obtain a resolution form Paypal, they would want cases like this being made public.

    Good luck.

I have both, the £42 K-Edge and the standard £20 handlebar / seatpost GoPro mount. The K-Edge is good, very solid, can mount the camera above or below the bar, but thats it, but when its mounted its very solid. The GoPro mount is good too, obviously you can mount it on the bars, in the same way, above or below, but you can also mount it pretty much anywhere else on the bike. The seatpost, downtube, forks stanchions (I have Pace rigids so can get away with it), fork crown etc, very versatile.

The K-Edge mount def looks the best, but If had to buy just the one, I’d buy the GoPro mount, there are simply more options to mount the camera, and in my opion the better angles of filming make for better footage, the standard POV gets a little boring.

    Hope that helps.

How did the admin company know who the sender was ?

I’m trying to find this out. So the parcel arrived and it was signed for, so thats where the Special Delivery service ends, they did not reject the parcel and return to sender formally, the received the aprcel and kept for a number of days.

Then, I’m assuming, the admin comapny used the Return Address I had writen on a sticker on the back of the parcel to return it back to me. However they sent it via Second Class, no tracking, no insurance etc.

I also spoke to the PP Claims Customer Service last night, they said I am OK if I can prove the buyer actually sent me a different address to post it to. Great, I say I have all the emails threads to back this up. But apprently PP said they do not take emails into account as evidence on a Disoute / Claim !?1 WTF. So she said I have to try and get this guy to admit he sent me the wrong address on the Paypal Dispute discussion thread thing !? Er, right, he’s really going to do that isn’t he. So I’m pretty much effed if he escalates to a full Claim.

    Really annoying.

I had a dispute with a seller for the same amount and despite the same kind of absolute proof, paypal ruled against me for spurious reasons. So I prepared a European Small Claim form against Paypal sarl in Luxembourg, which it turns out can be filed in your local court just like a normal small claim, and informed them of this. What do you know, they re-opened the case and ruled in my favour. Stick with it, and do not take no for an answer.

I’ll be noting your contact details sir for future reference!! ;o)

And a second one….for me when its a non Ebay item it doesn’t show a Payment address. With this one the Buyer places the address in the comments box, I tried to find a postage address and I cant actually find it “!!

    you paid a fee?

    Yes…he paid me £230, I recieved £221.98

Are they saying they retunred it to you or to him ?

They are saying the returned it to sender, but once a Special Delivery package has been recieved and signed for, you can use the Return to Sender service under the same Special Delivery conditions. I.E You dont get the insurance / tracking cover etc.

Have you told paypal all this?

    Surely it’s his fault.

Not yet, currently he has only raised a Dispute, so we are basically communicating over the Paypal dispute portal (a little odd as we have talked a few times on the phone). Its only when He or I escalate the dispute to a full Claim where PP get involved and review the case.

After 20 days the dispute is simply closed.

I also have an email from the Admin company saying they received the item, and have returned it back to the sender, so cover there also.

the only payments that do not have a shipping address on the payment confirmation page are gift payments

Not entirely true, I checked the payment page, I paid the transfer fee so it wasn’t sent as gift and the address is not part of the page detail.

im assuming the buyer didn’t know his mail forwarding had been cancelled, or he would not have requested it be sent there, so why should the buyer be out of pocket?

Yes, he cancelled it in September as it was costing him £25 a month for on average 10 letters (His words)

Posting it to an address other than one registered with PayPal isn’t going to help you.

I know that doesn’t help, but the only thing is when someone sends you money, it doesn’t actually show their registered / certified address on the transaction page. Its a little different if you buy an item on Ebay, the certified postage address is clearly showm but when simply sending funds its different, plus its actually pretty difficult to find it. Thats why I normally email people to ask.

I’m prepared to jump through any number / size of hoop though !

Ping me a PM and let me know where you’re staying and I’ll help you out. Disney Land is further down south in Anaheim, about 1.5 hrs from LAX. So the key is where you stay during your break. There are loads of great places to go see, and do, but LA is HUGE, the logistics of driving is bonkers as the traffic is ridiculous !

There was a good smattering of winter hacks at our club reliability trial today, shame I didn’t have a camera. Saw at least four fixed and three other bikes as well as mine still sporting down tube shifters.

It was a great route…..could’ve done with a canoe at some points though. Shame I missed you.
