Just tell me what and where it is (and if there's anything of value in it) and I'll keep a "special" eye on it….

Aye, I agree with all the above, when I'm out on site I can use the Iphone as an office replacement answering e-mails, accessing files and a really nice way of using the internet. I've had mine nearly two years, it still looks new-ish! and I'm still not bored with it, oh just about to take delivery of the 3GS. Mmmmmm luvly.

I use a Suunto T3c, which has all sorts of "stuff" on it like, training effect and EPOC (eh?) Generally I like it, not neccesarily because of all the features, but because it's got a big easy to read display plus the usual Suunto barometric qualities and well.
I like to see lap splits, hrm and speed (it uses a footpod) all on display and to download the sessions later to keep an eye on progress.
    Overpriced though.

Clue's in my name! Good, the area is a Mecca for all outdoors. Bad, the village is a tourist trap and can be incredibly busy.

This bootcamp thing I need to research it. If I can sort this softwarething out I could see past the initial high purchase price. I think my biggest worry is leaving my known MS comfort zone, however I have played with the Snow Leapord OS and really like it.

A9 all ok (came up last night) but Badaguish is a wet root/rock slip fest. Enjoy, all you heart rate watching, straight bar using, leg shaving ex-roadie types.

    Hmmm,
it's still looking a wee bit too expensive considering what I can see Dell is offering in the performance per £ stakes and I won't need new software.
Small business+cashflow+workrates* = Apple will have to wait me thinks.
*re-learning how to use a new OS would slow me down – I think.

Nope, the family and I were Blaeberry picking in the woods last weekend and no washing done. Mind you doubt there's much wrong with a Blaeberry picked from a wild Scots Pine forest!

I'm just not getting on with the whole satnav thing. I have always used a map and if need be jotted down wee crib notes (basic rally style) but having just started a contract in a new city I bought a TT. It seems ok, but I just can't get on with blindly following it – and it's recommendations.
I still need to study the route overview, memorise some road names, etc before I'm happy.
And to tell the truth it's missed some tricky wee junctions, so not totally infallibale.
Maybe I've not spent enough time with it, but I also find it quite distracting.

Ahhhh, Mr Barton, I understand. I forgot sxc was next w/e might pop along, but then I only start to think about racing again – maybe one more season………

Aye, it's all been said above, married no bother, we both rode a lot. 2 x young kids later, things get a bit trickier, however, I ride as part of work and squeeze in a mid week ride or two (!) plus a crack of dawn sun' ride. Biggest difference is always ride alone now, due to weird/impromptu ride times.
Loving watching my eldest develop into a wee biker.

I'll just be glad to be back riding and running on my local trails.

Wet roots broke my collarbone! To get my wet root mojo back I binned my xc tyres and stuck big, soft Maxxis on – tubeless at low pressure, M'dTFU and just kept riding them. All above points work.

MTFU, run/turbo/sit-ups/press ups/pull up bar/crunchies, etc, etc all do-able whilst kids asleep on dark nights.

I use mine to communicate whilst away from the office, sync'd up with various options, push e-mail, nice browser and I just generally like the UI.
Even in the Highlands without 3G I get overall better reception than with my old network (main reason I changed provider) prior to that I had been happy with HTC phones, but they did crash on me, freeze and occassionally drop calls. Oh, and the new iPhone software has sorted out the only "issues" I had with the phone – cut/paste, horizontal keyboard and picture messaging. Some like / some don't!

Haha, what with work and young family my downward spiral has been; mtb – road – running! Case in point, quality Sunday MTB ride 5-6 hrs – not going to happen, 4 hr roadbike base training – not going to happen, 2 hr long steady run – done by breakfast!
I still play on the mtb, and hopefully when time allows I'll maybe race again. I did sell 2 mtb's, but then "needed" to replace them with newer models!
I just can't not have an mtb to relax on.

Hmmm, I found it went the other way; long time cyclist getting back into running and loads of hamstring probs. All I do is listen to my body and ease off when need be, loads of stretching and just slowly getting used to the new demands on my body.

I'm showing my age and roadie background, but long, low front ends, lots of seatpin (U.S.E preferably!) and Flite saddles just look "right" to me and to hell with the handling!

Soooo pissed off I missed this, am working on Glasgow, but no bike and hadn't been checking STW / Twitter much so it passed me by. Gutted, if I'd a heard earlier I'd a driven home got bike stuff and come back down. Shame he's into U2 though.

I love the A9 too. Coming home from NPS races in deepest Englandshire I'd grab a Redbull and Mars bar at Perth services and cruise up the road on the sugarrush! 2 am speeds after 8 hrs on road just got higher and higher as I got nearer home, I've seen no vehicles for miles on end but watch the deer! A wee birdy tells me current record is sub 1 hr Perth – Inverness on a Yamaha R1!
Anyway must go gotta hit the A9 before the truckers wake up!
