I’ve had my 3g nearly a year now and have been very happy with it. In fact still not bored with playing with it, as well as provng v capable as a heavily used business phone. Now with the software update it’s just spot on. However, I’m due a free upgrade in September and I’ll be signing on the dotted line for another 18 months and a 3gs.

Hmmm, Daily Mail thing cery interesting. I have got back into running after several years off and I have no problems running reasonable distance off-road with my old fell shoes – minimal padding. But, now having to run on road (training for half marathon) I’m using modern “posh” trainers and had no end of probs. Finally changed shoes for a lighter pair similar to my off-roaders and now all ok. I find heel striking builds up probs.

I bought a Breitling when I was 21 (20 something years ago) and apparently it’s now worth more than I paid for it! I used to wear it for everything, but now keep it for “posh”. G shock now, but although I do use the timers, stopwatch, etc I still prefer analogue.

I used to race, Scottish Masters xc, First season 10th ish after just riding the mtb a lot. Second season into the top ten, now with more structured training – intervals, hrm, etc. Third season podiums! after a winter of road training, Majorca training camp, diet, etc, etc.
Averaged 8 odd hours a week, 3hr sunday, 2 saturday, 2 evenings on turbo, 1 on mtb with lights (winter).
Now got two young kids and self employed, so just ride when I can for the fun of it.
Mind you, would like a crack at the vets one day!

Its pretty mellow, no real hills – but watch out for the timber lorries they do tend to take up most of the road! Depends how much/fast you want to do? You can blast all three major loops (new red, old red, black) in an hour and a half at full on pace or mosey around with a break for coffee per lap, still only 2.5 – 3 hrs riding. But 7 miles tacked on the start / end wouldn’t kill yer!

I really buggered up my back/arse with a bad fall at speed on a landrover track some years ago and initially I tried the “let it dry out routine” and when I couldn’t stand it anymore (a few days) I went to my friendly doc who tutted lots and said basically it’s like a burn so cover, moisturise and get the dressings changed by the nurse every few days. Still got the scars several years later and the advise has stayed with me ever since.

oldgit – Sandwell, that brings back good memories and even though it’s a million miles from what I normally ride (clue in name) I have fond memories of racing there in the Red Bull days.

Another vote for IXUS, great at point and shoot and mtb rides. I’ve had mine 3 yearsish and although abused still works fine.

Spacehopper – v.g. I seem to always take “action” shots, the kids, etc, etc, but I never seem to take landscapes or “things”. The missus says I’ve got a cr*p eye for composition……..

Only ever roadbiked there and for that it’s an excellent location, fab big climbs and lovely views coming home up the west hilly (read mountainous!) coast road.

Well the opposite of that, is that last night I went out on the full sus’ 29er with a luuuvly big soft (tubeless’ed) Rampage on the front 20ish psi. Slamming through rock gardens like a young loon. Easy more fun than the normal Hutchy Python.

I’ve had mine a year and delighted with it. I’ll update the software in June (cut n paste, mms – whooppee) and then take the free update to the v3 in sep’. O2 fine with me.

Actually this looks even better at about £20

    For bikey/work I think it’s a winner.

Actually I’ve been skiving on the net and I found these.

They look fine for my use; easy to read, luminuous, waterproof(enough) automatic and cheap enough for work use.

Mmmmm, also like to hear the collectives thoughts on this. I use a G shock for work/biking, but although it’s ok (in that I’ve not broken it) I’m really not happy with a digi display. Could use a tough easy read basic analogue (don’t need extra dials, etc) but not at Rolex prices!!!!
