I bought one of the heavily discounted epic evo’s from them a few days ago, no issues and I went with them because they have an actual shop less than an hour away should I have any issues

I’ll step down when God Almighty tells me to step down”.

For me that’s a good thing for him to have said as it gives him an out preserving his dignity which he deserves. He can say he’s prayed for guidance and god has spoken to him and told him that in the best interests of his country he should withdraw.

Can’t go for a third term.

There is a sort of workaround

The 22nd Amendment only requires that someone not be elected to the Presidency more than twice. Someone who was elected to two terms on his own is still eligible to be Vice President and to rise to the Presidency upon the death, resignation or removal of the President.

So Obama could stand for Vice President with everyone openly knowing that Biden will resign on day 1

My Sony’s which were around £90 are working perfectly after going through the washing machine. I realised as the app started sending notifications after id put awash on. Survived a full cycle so I’m guessing they are pretty well made

At work I have one specific mug for black tea, one for green tea, one for coffee and one for lemon and ginger tea. You can’t drink different drinks from the same mug!!!

Not sure I’d want to see an England Spain final

I’m not sure why people are so worried. Ok so they are better going forward, better defending, better in the midfield, better with the ball, better without the ball, faster, more committed and more cohesive but apart from that what have they got over England?

My partner organised a family event a few weeks ago, 43 people invited, 43 accepted, 43 showed up even the ones who really would have been wanting to watch the fa cup final.

Have to say though I think that is incredibly rare these days. It feels to me as if everyone is always waiting for a better offer, or they simply think only they will be thinking of not turning up

They offered 12 places on each, but booking on was required as places were limited.

Notice was given of a bat walk in Royden Park, Frankby on Friday evening. Ranger-led, the event was free although booking was essential.

Is there an anti combativity award? Nailed on if there is.

    That was great to watch.

From the Gruaniad ” Labour has won 410 seats with a 33.9% share of the vote.”  what an indictment of our crap pseudo democracy.

Tories and reform have a higher percentage combined but with no real influence now. So not a great system and maybe the reason we have the polarised politics we do but be thankful for small mercies

if you’ve ever stood nearby when that happens you’ll realise it can make your ears ring!

Always amazed me that when I was tipping glass bins there was only one other person who’d ever wear hearing protection. Even tipping other recycling or general waste I wore it, those trucks are bloody noisy when standing at the back of them

I try to avoid all Isreali, japanese and american stuff but thats difficult.

And China? I find it hard to believe you can support the CCP by buying anything from China given your stance on other companies and countries

True story The Spy And The Traitor by Ben MacIntyre is easy to read and unputdownable.

I think you could say that for all his books, tells great stories brilliantly

I swallowed a bee, well actually I spat if I’m honest.

I know it was a bee because it left the sting in the very back of my throat. Tried to get to it with my leatherman but no chance. Couldn’t seem to dislodge it with anything so had to go to a&e where I experienced the joy of forceps to the back of the throat which is an experience I’m not particularly wishing to repeat!

An old friend of mine who I worked with at the MOD was called in by his boss to discuss his sick days. But I haven’t had any he replied, exactly said his boss and it makes everyone else look bad so make sure you start taking them 😂

Ironically he retired early on medical grounds later

What are the cost differences in producing this as opposed to the carbon model given the r&d and tooling costs that will have been incurred. I wonder if with the contraction of the market this is a way of preserve the profit margins on the carbon models while not loosing out on sales to people who can’t afford them.

Also be interested in the weight difference between this and the carbon frame.

I’m happy riding around on the south downs on my rigid bike and have no need for one but I still rather fancy one 😂

When I inherited the contents of my neighbours house and garage I realised I was an utter amateur at keeping stuff. I’m still sorting through some stuff more than 4 years later. While there was plenty that just got binned or recycled there was some fantastic stuff which warrants going through it carefully. If anyone needs a few spare chain links for their 1937 triumph I can help 😂

No don’t worry he hasn’t died again. Just going through all our old tapes at work and digitising them before they go in the bin. Found not only a VHS retailer copy of his 1989 Come Back, All is Forgiven tour but the original U-Matic edit masters it came from. The old owner never forgets to remind me whenever his name comes up that we never got paid for the shoot or the edit. Not sure if the tape was ever released. I guess 35 years on and him being dead means we’ll have to write this one off.

Not today either but a couple of months ago I realised the long pointy bit that sticks out as you move the jaws of a Vernier calliper is the depth gauge.

I had exactly the same revelation last week!

Be nice to think that due to the coverage of this a few people who haven’t heard of him or listened to his programs or read his books and articles might become familiar with his message and make some small changes to make there own lives better and healthier. I expect his family will hear a lot from people who have already improved their own lives not just because of what he said but of how he said it.

It’s very strange that his phone was at their accommodation.

That might just be because he spends his life on it when working and was on holiday. Certainly hope so. I’m another who likes his approach, a nice change from the vast majority of the “health advocates” who mostly seem to be selling stuff and vastly oversimplifying.

This is probably going to come across as sour grapes but if you’re talking about people who should be remembered and commemorated I think the merchant navy personell should be right up there.

Anyone whose opinion is worth anything would hold what the merchant navy did in the highest esteem. Without them there would have been nothing left to defend. The men who manned the Atlantic and Russian convoys can stand as absolute equals to anyone

My old neighbour Steve who died right at the end of 2019 and landed in Normandy with 46 Royal Marine Commando. If you live between Brighton and Eastbourne you may notice a number 12 bus named after him. Stephen Barnwell. He was a great character and much missed. I did my sdw in a day on what would have been his 100th birthday as I knew there was no way I’d quit if things got tough if I was doing it to commemorate that

I’m glad it’s not just me. I find it impossible to listen to because of that smug ****

A friend organises talks* at a pub in Brighton and Robin Ince gave one last year. Much better in real life than the role he plays in infinite monkey cage and a really nice bloke. Went on to another pub with him afterwards, he has a real interest and love for science and was an interesting guy to talk to.

Lat talk was by the astronomer Richard Ellis and was about the early results from James Webb a project he was involved in, covered quite a bit on how we have refined the measurement of the distance away things are.

    * Talks are organised by Brighthink and are at the Nightingale Room, Grand Central Pub just near Brighton station for any locals who might be interested. Really good range of subjects covered. I go to any I can, I’m very happy listening to anyone who knows their stuff talk about anything.

Have you every watched a photograph develop?

It’s 28 years now since I last had a darkroom and still the memory of watching images appear before my eyes never leaves me.

Consciousness – currently reading Anil Seth’s Being You. I could tell you something about it but you’d hear something different from what I’m saying  😂

The are some spikes in the elevations. Don’t get excited, they’re bridges

When I lived in Shoeburyness it was an utterly flat ride below sea level to work on Foulness with the exception of one bridge. On some days I could be crawling up the bridge in a 26,28 gear or I could be flying up it at 25 without trying. If there was a day without wind it felt very very strange. Sometimes you had a head wind or a tail wind both ways. Best days were when you could pick up a lift behind one of the big tractors and sit right on it and barely pedal.
