    1 x 14 for me.

Not clever enough to cope with more than one changer.

It must be legit as it appears they are able to use the English language in a form I recognise and they have a nice garage door and keep the drain free of leaves which is a sensible precaution at this time of year.

If 24 people picked 1 then the average would be 1.
If 24 people picked 49 then the average would be 49.

I hope that clears it up for you Graham. :-)

Just put them on one side and then view it from whichever side takes your fancy at the time.

3 hours looking for a pair of pliers – that could be a world record.

I also use a KMC BMX / 3 speed hub with my Rohloff as you don't need any sideways movement. Having said that I got 3 years out of a cheap SRAM chain and only changed it because I was doing an oil change and decided to change the sprocket at the same time. I'd assumed that I would lose oil in changing the sprocket and didn't want to end up having to do another one before it was due if my chain gave out. As it was I lost very little of the old oil in changing the sprocket. I think my answer then to your actual question is no, anything will do but a BMX chain will hopefully last longer.

He was never going to reveal how he did it because in doing so he would be revealing how he does other tricks. The most amusing thing is that group of 24 who seem to actually believe they did it.

And did anyone note the "accidental slip" in his alternative explanation when he referred to she when describing the insider at the lottery. So were we meant to take that in at a subliminal level and thus believe he had given away more than he meant to.

If I went back to full sus then it would just be for the comfort factor on longer rides and I'd probably go for single pivot to keep maintenance to a minimum. Mind you I quite fancy a Whyte e120 and at least they guarantee their bearings. None of my riding justifies it as I mange just fine with an 85mm hardtail now. One thing I am certain of though is that if I could only ever have one bike it would be a hardtail.

As iDave suggests try cutting out dairy for a while. Are you warming up enough on cold days? I have had a similar experience if I've ridden or run to hard right from the off on cold days. I'd avoid using drops until you've given dairy free a try.

I notice that some people have weighed their bikes on fishing scales. Surely any scales sold to fishermen will exaggerate the weight by at least 25% and the bike will become heavier each time you weigh it.

It does and only a certified lunatic would buy a tent that pitched inner first if they were using it in the UK. :-)

We have a Vango which is similar to the Hartford and we will be changing next year to an Outwell Vermont XL. We looked at both the Vermont and Hartford recently at a camping show and for me us the Vermont seems a much better choice. The Vango has been a good tent but after 3 years experience the design of the Vermont seems much better. For a start it's under 5m wide which is the limit on some sites especially in high season. Secondly the porch area has loads of room for cooking and eating and can be fully opened or closed depending on the weather and thirdly I hope that it will be easier to pitch in windy conditions.

I've been wondering the same thing but like you haven't found anything. It would make sense to me for Whyte to make one as it would do for both the Rohloff and for running single speed.

I've never heard a bad word about the Anthem X. I ride XC and it would be top of my list if I were looking.

Link things seem to have disappeared but have a look at the above. Just shows what can be achieved without demolishing the original house. might be more cost effective as well.

What those on here who are very proud of their ability to put their palms on the floor haven't told you is that they are also able to drag their knuckles along the ground as they walk.

I am able to touch my toes but they aren't all that far away.

Bob I've ride on wet green chalk with Fire xc pros and mud x's and they are a hell of a lot better so I would imagine you'd see just as big an improvement on wet roots.

2.0 mud tyres when my current tyres start to clog and slide too much. Following an earlier thread I may just try leaving them on when the spring comes. I may even then consider tubeless if that works out as I have access to a compressor at work.

I'm sure they will. We'll be getting my son an Islabike for Christmas but to be honest I'll probably find it harder to wait than he will. I thought that he might be put off by flying over the handlebars on bank holiday Monday and knocking himself out cold but after a couple of days with a headache and a a sore jaw he seems as keen as ever, braver than me that's for sure. He was riding over the old pitch and putt course in the park and tried to tackle something neither he or his halfords special was up to. His twin sister rode home to get my wife and by the time they got back to the park there was already an ambulance in attendance. He was only just coming round so he must have been out for at least 10 minutes. I was working in Barcelona at the time so didn't get to here about it until everything had calmed down and it was clear that he was ok. It was pretty stressful for my wife though, especially when his sister quite calmly comes home and says her brother is lying on his back with his eyes open but isn't moving!

I've only had 3 in 23 years. Mind you I've only had 3 bikes and one additional frame in that time as well.

What about all that nonsense in the swimming pool!

    avdave2

Looks nice but on the bike fit bit they seem to be regurgitating that nonsense about using a plumb line to set your saddle position. I thought that had all been tested and found to be rubbish. Or maybe I'm wrong and the test to test it was in fact rubbish. Anyway someone somewhere is talking rubbish!

cue post to suggest it's me.

I'd go for the Kombi myself as well. It seems the most versitile option. There also seem to be a lot of the Renault Traffic crew vans around at the moment and that's also available in a longer wheelbase version. Maybe not so desirable but probably cheaper.

I'm around a 29" waist and I've got plenty of room in the small size. I haven't used them on the bike yet but they were excellent for our holiday in South Wales a couple of weeks ago. I wore them over a normal pair of 3/4 trousers and still had the tabs tight. I think you can assume they are sized as overtrousers. I got mine from Merlin.

My off road career began in 1985 on a 10 speed Coventry Eagle. It stood up pretty well to the abuse it was my body that didn't like it.
