i'm thinking of suggesting Reverse Cowboy as the position i'd like, just to see their faces

You'll need to ask for a mirror as well if you want to see their faces.

Police aware sticker on windscreen and park it like you've abandoned it and you'll never have to pay for parking again.

Full service, new front exhaust, new discs and pads and MOT £630 today. I suppose that's not bad as it's the only maintenance cost for the last year but I hate spending money on anything to do with cars.

That looks like a coach bolt rather than threaded rod so how do you turn the bottom nut and stop the whole thing from turning? It doesn't look like the square of the coach bolt will locate in the washer and even if it did the washers would spin against the top of the headset cups wouldn't they?

30" or so inside leg here and I use 165mm cranks. I took my old Marin out for the first time in over 4 years recently which has 175mm cranks and did notice a lot more pedal strikes but that was about it. Off road I don't think it makes a huge difference but on the road I have noticed a difference and find the shorter cranks better for my knees. I think the difference between on and off road is that I tend to use a higher cadence for more of the time on road sections and also on the road I spend much longer in one position whereas off road I move more around on the saddle and stand or hover over it a lot more.

If you like to spin rather than grind then go for the shorter cranks.

Can you not make your own mind up?
Why not just do what you want to?

And so with a single post ap caused the whole stw forum community to stop, question the whole meaning of their life and find it pointless and without hope. And off they all stumbled into eternal darkness never to waste their or anyone else's time with their stupid questions and even more stupid answers. And the last words heard faintly from the edge were "what tyres for the eternal darkness?"

You really don't "get" media and PR do you Graham?

I do and that is why we have a number of big names as clients to our PR company

A PR expert who represents himself has a fool for a client. Not doing much of a job of selling yourself there, however I reckon johnners is a man of remarkable insight. :-)

Apple will admit there is a problem with something they have made and this will be followed by an announcement from the Vatican that they've just checked and after all there really is no God.

i can't recommend the wrong tool for the job

Well if your using a pipe cutter designed for alloy tubing in what way are you using the wrong tool? Many pipe cutters will also cut stainless as well as alloy and copper.

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that when I put out my "blue bin" (full of tins, bottles and cans for the recycle collection)
The next morning before the collection wagon comes all of my alloy cans have gone.

This week I looked on my morning dog walk and most of the street was the same.
On Tuesday I had a word with the people next door and about a hour ago she comes back with the news that the sneak can theif was spotted !!
7am Tue morning spotted going through people blue bins and trotting off up the street with two bin liners full of cans to where she lives on the very same street.

Its no big deal but I would rather her ask if she could have them rather than sneaking around the streets.

Also is it legal what she is doing ? and whats the going rate for a old beer/coke can , not more than a penny or two I bet

And would it be rude of me to plott a spot of revenge

Just trying to think what I could do the next time she comes trotting down the street with her bin liners ,,,any ideas boys n girls ??

    Andy

There you go Andy I've recycled some of those letters for you. I hope your not too upset about me pinching them. :-)

I've just bought those Rebas and am very happy with them. You will have to budget for a shock pump as well if you don't already have one. They replaced Magura Odurs on my bike and it's been a revelation to get forks that I can actually set for my weight and general riding. Even with the lightest spring and no spacers I rarely got more than 50mm out of the Odurs and they weren't particularly responsive to small bumps.

Well if I could only ever have 1 fixed lens then it would be 35mm (full frame.)
More practical to start with the cheap zoom and save for better lenses in the future.

Apologies Nuke but I haven't been back to you yet as I was following up your suggestions and have just bought the UN54 and the Park Tools BB tool from CRC. So now you can spend the rest of the evening feeling very smug and self important. I hope my eternal gratitude is reward enough. :-)

Can I move this on to another film.

B17 crashed in the desert with the crew playing baseball awaiting rescue. Only they are all dead and don't know it. Crew member who bailed out early survived and years later is back when the wreck is discovered. Guys disappear one by one as their remains are found. Haven't seen it in years but think of it every time one of these threads comes up.

Thanks joolsburger but I'll stick with a 113mm as the chainline is spot on with the Rohloff and also I don't want to move the chainring any closer to the chainstay.

Remember that unless you are using 2010 you are not actually inserting or embedding the video but just the link to it. Therefore put the presentation and the video clip into one folder before you insert it. Put the folder on the desktop and you shouldn't have too much trouble in transferring from one desktop to another.

6 miles, 5 of which are off road. It takes between 35 minutes and an hour depending on the wind and the depth of the mud. I can thoroughly recommend hub gears if your going to be doing it day in day out all year round. The best thing is that because you have to do it you don't worry about the conditions but just go out and deal with it.

One thing to remember if you use presenter view is that animations will not appear on your laptop screen. The text will just appear once the animation has happened on the projected image. It can make you advance to far if your not used to it and think the laptop is not responding. As well as your notes you can see a preview of upcoming slides which also helps and it also makes it easier to go to any particular slide if you want to show it in response to any questions you may get.

It's the Heskey syndrome. look at the goalkeeper the aim the ball straight at him.

interesting R4 programme the other day where they reported a trial of penalty taking using eye tracking equipment. Those that had their penalties saved were looking at the keeper as they hit the ball. Those that scored were looking at the corners of the goal. It also showed that goalkeepers who moved around and distracted the penalty takers got more of them to look at them and thus saved more, lets just hope the rocks and trees weren't listening.
