I had a job their last year in June at Epcot and found the combination of heat and humidity pretty unpleasant. The local techs I was working with all reckoned it was best to avoid June July and August.

Don’t worry I believe the team will have it finished very soon as they’ve a contract to update the UK’s air traffic control systems.

Combined with one of those rotating stem and bars might be interesting!

Thanks for the ideas, all now working. I went into networking and sharing and ran the diagnose option and from there reset the network adapter. As it has always worked in the office I’m guessing it still thought it was in that location? I’ll try it again when I’m back and see if it still works there or messes it up next time I’m away.

Both connected to the mains and both set not to allow windows to power down the adaptor. I’ve checked for updates but that was about a month ago so I’ll have another look at that and I’ve selected the network as public but I’ll try changing that to office.

    Edit
just checked on the Lenovo website and the drivers are the latest.

Look at all the custom this is drumming up!

Another here who could do with one of those bladders if someone knows where to source them.

Don’t forget to add to your evidence that men are more likely to do stupid things like ride down a mountain on a bicycle and render themselves unfit for work.

I’ve still got a 1998 Rift Zone in the garage and if I were looking for a FS again I’d be tempted by the new one.

It would seem to me that your interviews were badly conducted. If you had asked the candidates for their interpretation of the off side rule you would clearly have been able to distinguish between the two candidates.

Another fan of the mud x. My commute includes wet bare chalk in the winter and they cope ok with that as well.

I watched it on a flight but I think I may have enjoyed the red wine too much because it’s all a bit hazy and I’m not sure if I was still there at the end.

Good job they are insured then.

Let’s just hope the insurance company don’t have access to a computer and the internet when they investigate your claim! :-)

Yeah I wasn’t very inspired when I saw it but my laptops in the hold as I’m carrying 2 others for work so I’m stuck with what’s there. I think it will probably be The Town just because it was Pete Postlethwaite’s last role.

I don’t go through red lights on the basis that anything you do that makes drivers think all cyclists are a bunch of tossers who demand protection and have no concern for anyone else simply puts more cyclists at risk. The last thing the world needs is more angry people on the roads. I realise that the action itself can be perfectly safe but if I’m on the road I’m happy to stick with the rules.

As an aside it seems to me more and more drivers are happy to go through red lights on pedestrian crossings if no one appears to be crossing.

This year marks 25 years, September 3rd to be precise, since I bought my first mountain bike, a Specialized Rockhopper, and I enjoy it as much as ever. There have been times when I might have only got out riding a couple of times in a year when the kids were younger but when I did it always felt as good as ever. The best thing I’ve ever done was to change to an off road commute 2 1/2 years ago, it gets you in to the habit of going out no matter what the weather. I live right on the edge of the South Downs so there are miles of bridleways and I can easily change my commute from 5 to 25 miles or anything in between.

I think physical music in the shape of the LP or cd will become just for enthusiasts and for the vast majority digital files will suffice. A bit like the way film is still used by some because they enjoy the actual process of using it but for most digital photography fulfils all their needs. On the positive side people still want to see live music and nothing can replace that.

When are you thinking of going? Last year I had a job in June at the site in Florida and the combination of heat and humidity made it very unpleasant.I’ve been to the California site for a holiday and that’s where I’d want to go again.

Whippet is top of my list at the moment. I’ll probably go for the frame only and build it up myself as I want to use the reba forks I have and go back to the rigid RC31’s I have for the current bike. I’m tempted to go for a 1 x 10 set up as well. Basically I want a light bike for the summer and longer rides and I’ll keep the Rohloff steel framed bike for the rubbish weather and the off road commute. It’s a great bike but it’s a quarter of my weight so it can seem hard work on occasions.

I would post up on mumsnet

Isn’t that a bit like advising a Christian to go and have a chat with a lion.

So she asked you to stop paying so she could claim benefits? So I guess as a tax payer I’m helping to pay it in which case you have my permission to move back in. You can let her keep claiming the benefits and send the mortgage payments straight to me if you like.

On the bright side the lack of dull dreary and overpaid IT workers no longer able to fund their habit of buying very expensive machinery to show off in car parks as a personality substitute might force the bike industry to cut it’s prices in this market. :-)

Greg LeMond won 3 TDF’s on 1 so don’t even think about using it as an excuse when you get back in the saddle.

Bike Magic have a Rift Zone up for review at the moment. The first ride impressions are posted up already. It might fit somewhere between the Anthem and the ST4.

If you were not charged or cautioned then you are OK

Have a listen to, if you can bear it, you and yours from today on the i-player. They covered the case of a teacher who can no longer teach due to allegations made against him. He was spoken to by the police but not charged or cautioned.

To wash ones i-pod once, Mr Rhid may be regarded as a misfortune to do it again looks like carelessnes.

You need a Thorn Raven Enduro

No you need the Thorn Stirling which will take a proper rack and has heal clearance for full size panniers. It will take both disc or v brakes and they do steel forks for it or it will run with suspension forks. It also has the drop outs for the Rohloff which is a lot better than using the torque arm. Review here

The new Rift Zone is 100mm both ends with a 69 deg head angle and from what I can gather is built to take a fair bit of abuse. I don’t think there are any in depth reviews yet but it looks quite promising.
