When I was in halls of residence I found a little green food dye made my milk last longer.

I may also have one as a mark of respect.

Did they kidnap you! Was water boarding and sleep deprivation involved?

an upside down shock the air can lube is going to pool away from the seals?

This won’t be an issue if you turn your bike upside down when fixing punctures.

I assumed all data farms would be in iceland by now? Power comes out of the ground if you drill a hole, abundant cold water and air, and well placed between the USA & western europe.

and bang on top of a fault line with bloody big volcanoes. 🙄

I sent an e mail to DSD saying it was a bit of a pain having them delivered to my home address and they phoned me within 10 minutes and asked me where I would like them delivered. That’s pretty impressive.

Bib longs + long waterproof shorts

This when it’s very cold, otherwise just the 3/4 waterproofs on the winter off road commute. I’ve tried knee warmers with the 3/4 but unless I’m wearing lycra underneath they won’t stay up and I don’t bother with lycra for a 6 mile each way ride.

smiff they are in stock in small at Discount Cycles Direct. I e mailed to check that they actually had them on their shelves and they confirmed they did. They do have a policy of only delivering to the billing address which is a pain but it seems they may be the only option at the moment.

Thanks smiff, I’ll go with the small as that’s what I have in the Attacks and I’m also a 30 in trousers.

Smiff the fit in the leg should be no problem but how does the waist measurement compare between the semi dry’s and the attacks? The sizing guides make me a medium but I have the waist adjusters on my attacks at their tightest.

    Thanks

looks like may be discontinued? or a seasonal thing?

As in it’s autumn just when everyone will want them so lets not have any. To be fair maybe they all sold out during the lovely summer we’ve just had. I have found them online but they are small retailers so I won’t order without a call to make sure they really are in stock.

I have a Karrimor Raid 5 which holds 2 bottles as well as being a bum bag. For longer rides I use a Wingnut 2.5. I prefer both to a standard pack.

The metro is very good for getting around. If you are staying near the wheel then Praterstern station should be fairly close. You can buy a weekly ticket for 15 Euros but when I was there a week or so ago it seemed to run from Monday to Sunday no matter when you bought it. It may have been a rogue machine as I don’t recall that from previous trips. Livingstone’s is at Zelinkagasse 4 and is indeed open 365 days a year till 4am. I would highly recommend it. If you fancy a curry Tandoor plus at Salzgreis 2 is good and the nearby pub opposite the Irish bar did a very good veggie burger – I can’ t vouch for the regular fare though.

I was born there. It’s pretty depressing these days but I still love the pleasure beach as do the kids, the wooden rollercoasters are hard to beat. You can pick up some very nice houses relatively cheaply and if all that drilling and fracking pays off who knows what might happen.

Thanks guys, I have the full on 70’s porn star moustache so I’ll stick with the small, I have room for a friend in the small Attacks so they should be fine. All I’ve got to do now is find someone with them in stock. A preliminary search hasn’t shown them in stock with any retailers I’ve used in the past.

Camped in 2 force 11+ storms, and in both, sussed that the best thing is, don’t bother to get up and stake out the pegs/guylines any better. If you’re in it, it’s not going to go anywhere.

A good few years ago we were camping when the whole tent collapsed in the night due to extreme winds. At least that’s what my wife tells me, I slept through it and her putting it back up around me.

Livingstones is an excellent place to eat and has a very cool bar and is IIRC open 365 days a year. The ferris wheel is good, like the London Eye but in a ricketty garden shed and you can pretend you’re Harry Lime.

Laser beams could be used to analyse the ground ahead of you and adjust the suspension accordingly. I think you have seen the future.

Thanks all, It sounds like both options are good. I’ll probably go for the Alturas if they are longer. Smiff do they size up the same as the Attacks? Mine Attacks are small but I still need to have the waist adjusters at their smallest. I’m not too worried about the warmth of the shorts, I find as long as my knees are actually covered then they are fine and when it gets properly cold I’ll be wearing full length bib tights underneath.

So I could run a Rohloff a belt drive and a dynamo hub with one of those 9:ZERO:7 frames! I better get saving.

I was in the garden with my dad trying to stop the shed going through the patio doors. It lifted both of us of the floor a couple of inches at one point.I was working as a postman at the time and for a few weeks you didn’t walk up anyones path without looking up first for tiles waiting to fall on your head

    avdave2

Actually I think I may have found a reason to not want one – I take it no one makes a dynamo hub in the right size. I think I’d like the answer to be no they don’t. 🙂

hope its a no then I can stop looking at buying one.

Not only will the 9:ZERO:7 work with a Rohloff it’ll work with a belt drive as well! Wish I hadn’t opened this thread.

Yep, my contract specifically outlaws this

It doesn’t mean your contract is legal, many employment contracts contain stuff that could never hold up in court.

The Germans need a bit of collateral, what about Crete, they were keen enough on it a few years ago. The Greeks could easily sell a few islands they got hundreds of them.

    waterproof and cheap

That would be plastic bags then. It works if your not going to far, I used them for a few winters while commuting on the road.

I use the Merino thermal Sealskinz now, combined with rubber gloves cut down they work pretty well. Your feet won’t stay completely dry but they will be warmer.

Actually it’s a stretch along the back of Woodingdean where I could divert onto the grass, it’ll mean taking on a minefield of dogshit though! I’ll try that tonight and leave the sheep sacrificing for a day at least.

Lusso winter jersey ftw! Honestly the bit of kit I’ve ever bought

My Lusso winter bib tights are over 20 years old and the best bit of clothing I’ve ever bought.

I tend to just add a second base layer.

I’ve had a Doblo for 5 years and been very happy with it, I’d certainly buy another. I went for one above the Berlingo because my research showed it to be more reliable. It also has a bit more room inside it. I’ve never towed with it though.
