OP is back having had to wait for the complaints process to kick in.
Outcome = arsehole bidder who apparently doesn’t have a registered ebay account though how he bid I don’t know.
Apologies accepted even if I don’t know what for.

Not getting my knickers in a twist. Bidder is happy to stay up late bidding but not to respond to emails straight afterwards and into the next day. It’s pretty obvious to me this bid is going to come to nothing.
+2 on the arseholes.

Will have to adjust my settings – been too trusting so far!
Was definitely a cheap car, thought a low price would move it on quickly for me. Thwarted!

Thanks – I hadn’t seen that MBR thread. Mixed views as well!

Chris King 150 hub basically with the extra 7mm width for a 12mm axle. Matt Bowns from 18bikes did this for me to get a short back end without using a yoke. Has an 83mm BB as well.

18 bikes – 157×12 rear – haven’t got a close up of the disc mount but it’s very nicely brazed and flowing!

Edit – found a photo of the non drive side. Zoom in for the dropout.

I’d recommend Watchguy as well. Had my mid ’70s Omega done there.
Very good service, photos as he disassembles and reassembles. Replaced parts sent back to you .

Only issue is having to book in for a repair slot which are only released at certain times. But at least that manages expectations.

Proper Boost spider wanted for 2×11.
Emailed them and said they were going to make them… just before they shut down :(

I’ve got two at the moment: a ti spaceframe I’ve had for over ten years and a steel diamond/truss I’ve had for maybe three years. Just considering a third having tested a Plus the last two weeks of hooning around and bikepacking. I drank the Koolaid but I wouldn’t keep them if they didn’t work. I’ve probably bought and sold five full suss bikes in the mean time.

I do have a 29er hardtail for different stuff but if I had to have only one bike it would be a ti spaceframe. With the narrower ti bars.
Carbon bars v light, ti bars v bling and alloy just fine. Carbon is a good option but nothing wrong with the alloy ones.
I like the bars for climbing, and the ability to change hand position is a boon, especially as in the end it is a very rigid bike up front with a truss fork.

Chronicle on WTB Scraper is 760mm
Hodag on same is 745mm so yes 15mm difference.
I reckon it will work as long as your wheel is built well, just no margin for mud etc.
I had to push it past the chain stays thoug H when installing. And that’s without trying to get the cassette past the derailleur.
Worth a punt I reckon!

Can’t post directly from my phone but here’s a Flickr link to a 27.5×3.8 Hodag front wheel in the rear of a current Jones Plus which I’ve borrowed.
It’s very tight to get in place with minimal clearance.

I have a Bontrager Hodag 27.5x 3.8 on the front of mine, on a Hope Fastno hub – no shimming.
Have previous run Chronicle 29×3 and Surly 29×3. but on Jones hub. All good really but prefer Hodag now.
Panaracer Fat B Nimble in the back which is about as big as i can fit.

I tried to get rid of a full set of MTB Pro a while back but no takers, even for charidee.
Same problem here, full set of STW and years of Dirt Rag.
Used to have loads of Bike (US) though I bit the bullet and threw all those away apart from the photo annuals. Like richmars – just to remind myself of the what it was like way back then!

What they did offer over the Deore chainset was a variety of chainring options from single to triple, Rohloff, XX1, all on the same crank arms as well as different BB lengths.
I fitted an 83mm width set with 1×11 to my hardtail a while back. Still cheaper than Hope I found. But that was a very specific build.
But hey, in the past now.

Atomizer

This is a real shame – they’re really good dependable chainsets with multiple options, not retro at all.
I’ve got them on all my bikes – just recently installed a super compact set on my road bike. To me they look a lot better than some of the Shimano road monstrosities out there and the Hope chunky look.
But, poor web presence and lack of modern marketing ability is surely partly to blame.
Now I need to buy a boost spider if possible as a just in case.

I went with Canadream last time – Calgary up to Jasper out to Wells Gray then Revelstoke back to Calgary. Family of four but went with slightly too large model really. Scary driving through roadworks in Calgary!
Only issue with Canadream was the length of time waiting to go through the paperwork at the start, other that that efficient. Lots of competition in the RV market.

Canoeing in Wels Gray Park – Clearwater Lake during a thunderstorm was exciting – Wells Gray area is beautifully isolated.

I made an A4 ring bound book of most of them a couple of years ago… came out fine from a laser printer.
Purely for personal use mind.

If you’re really looking to spend that much money then try something like Moon Guitars for acoustic. Something a bit special. Plenty of other guitar makers out there but buying something made in UK and with a great track record has got to be worth checking out.

Salsa Vaya – I got some for my road bike. Come in two different rakes depending on frame size (or if you want to alter your trail figure).
Got mine from Bike24.

My BB was already pretty high being a CX bike originally. Smaller wheels brings it back to more road normal.

I put some Compass BabyShoe Pass 650bx42 tyres on my road bike. Used Arch EX rims.

Very tight fit on the rims and had to try the front out tubeless as I couldn’t get the tube in without puncturing it.

Running fine tubeless and I’ll probably do the rear soon.
I swapped the carbon fork for a Salsa Vaya one with more rake to keep the trail figure down.

Rids very smoothly.
Mudguards need a bit of fettling to get rid of the big gaps.

Front rack next for the Bicycle Quarterly wannabe look!

Moots Psychlo-x YBB with 650b Compass Cycles Babyshoe Pass tyres on Stan's Arch Ex rims. Very very tight fit! Front running tubeless. All great so far… by Jones96er, on Flickr

I had a frame built by Matt at 18 bikes last year. I’m very very pleased with it.
Matt was very helpful and communicative, helping out with design ideas. I wanted a short rear end, 157mm thru axle rear and 83mm BB, all accommodated. We didn’t speak in person – all done by email but this was no problem.

The finished product is great, a nice combination of brazed and welded joints.
I’d work with him again.

Pics below.

the kg rating is the density – there’s an explanation in the product info section. i went for the 55kg version – no experience, just chose the middle option!

I just bought one for our T25 van before our summer holiday. Has been brilliant and improved sleep no end. 2″ topper from Bodymould Mattresses. Much better value than Duvalay.

I got a pair of the Trailblazers in last week from Quest Adventure in Worthing – ordered them a couple of months ago though.
Here’s one fitted on the front and a comparison to a Bontrager 29×2.2 and Maxxis Ardent 29×2.4 on Arch Ex and Dually rims respectively.

L to R, Bontrager Jones 29×2.2 on Arch Ex rim, WTB Trailblazer 27.5×2.8 on Velocity P35 rim, Maxxis Ardent 29×2.4 on Velocity Dually 45mm rim. WTB is only 1mm wider than Ardent in this set up by Jones96er, on Flickr

Yes, I run an old pair of FSA carbon risers with even older x-lite nobbies.
Bit of a wiggle to get them through the steerer clamp, I had to slightly spread it open with a screwdriver.
I prefer the wider bar even riding in London traffic.
