HX Stomp is a great bit of kit and certainly not old tech. Keeps being updated and unless you’re a cork sniffer will match most of what’s out there. Only limitation is number of blocks at once, but plenty of presets available which work within these limitations.

Best to get it used for eBay or thefretboard.co.uk. You should pay less than £400.

Be warned, it’s a gateway drug to a bigger unit! I started with HX Stomp and now have a Helix Rack…

50mm Maxxis Rambler tyres and double chainring 2×11 on my rigid hardtail and I have a 90% good enough gravel bike.
Just done the Lincoln Gravel Imp overnighter and it was perfect for that.

A ) bread machine is ace – I’ve made bread with mine for 20 years (on second one mind) and it takes 5 minutes per night, ready in the morning.  Flour, oil, salt, sugar, water. Used it every day for sandwiches when kids were at school, twice a week now they’ve left home.

    B) – @dmorts this is a brilliant bread knife – not a slicer but makes it easy for any numpty to get max use from each loaf!

I’m totally gutted – an inspirational guitar player and a great recording engineer and a great attitude!

Favourite album ever is Atomizer – hence the username!  So much of my record collection involved him – Neurosis, Joanna Newsom, Low, PJ Harvey, even Robert Plant, so many others.
Saw Shellac in Clapham many years ago, just superb.

Devonshire Arms (Drovers in All Creatures…) is very nice for beer and food. Foresters Arms up the road I would never visit again – food vile and made the teenagers vomit in the car on the way home. Not nice!

Craven Arms in Appletreewick is also wonderful. Cruck Barn out the back is a great venue.

@andeh mine’s a newer version of that, same basic principle though. Changing temperature require two or three presses and looking to see where to press !

Subhumans – From The Cradle to The Grave – one of my favourite albums!

One good reason to still have a record player.

Volvo here – great car but the big central touchscreen is a nightmare for getting simple things done simply, without taking your eye off the road.

i’m supposed to use ‘Hey Google’ as well but that’s slow, have to ask two or three times and even then not guaranteed to actually work.

    It’s a 3TB HDD, WD RED I think. 8 years old.

Might do a swap for an SSD and see if that improves things.

Will also try and link it to my Sonos app to see if that is faster.

I’m running a Roon free trial at the moment. Interface is great but it won’t recognise the NAS yet – I’m still working out how to do the various IP address troubleshooting tips. Wish it was plug and play!

Thought Roon ARC might be an answer to access all my music while on the go but does need the NAS to be connected!

@somafunk – how is your Cambridge system at accessing the hard drive? I have a Synology NAS and its incredibly slow using the iPhone  app to navigate the music folders (>500gb music).

Is yours a drive directly connected to the Cambridge?

This is pretty sad , but maybe they can come out the other side.

my first bike was a C16R, my current FS is a Stage Evo.

i bought the Stage Evo because it looks great, rides great, is light and supports British manufacturing. Not in a ‘Little Englander’ way – I’m  a Remainer through and through but will  try and buy UK made products to support a diverse economy.

I went down a rabbit hole of collecting Hewlett Packard calculators a few years ago.

Still have a few including the 48G plus a Swiss Micros DM42.

i use one every day and can’t remember how to use a non-RPN calculator it’s so ingrained!

I’ve ripped most of mine to apple lossless but kept the CDs ( well over a thousand) in slim plastic wallets and thrown away the jewel cases. Take significantly less room. I still like to see the artwork and info sometimes and there’s still a lot of stuff not on streaming services.
Got a job lot of sleeves from here https://www.t3lshop.co.uk/shop/cd-storage-161c1.html

Bit like Eddiebaby – let a modeller do most of the work and add in a few pedals which complement it.
And then keep adding and realise you have more pedals which defeated the object of buying a modeller and then start selling again!
    I think I have this cracked now…

Let My People Go Surfing has a good section on why he didn’t just sell the company a long time ago and just invest in environment activity.
    Man is an inspiration!

I’ve got 650b x 42 on my road bike – it’s fine for me – it’s not the bike or tyres that make me slow!
Very comfy and fast rolling even at low psi (30-40)

Any idea if Torm are made in the UK? I read through their website but it was not clear. It all sounded as if it was but not explicitly stated.
Not my primary issue but would be nice to know.
I suppose I could actually ask them!

Echo Snotrag there. Mine is really likeable, feels like a step up from a hard tail without being too cosseting. I came from a Cotic Flaremax and this is more me and certainly lighter. I’m 5’10” and went for a large which is perfect.
No test ride, just ordered from Dales Bike Centre who I trust for advice.

I’ve got two sets of Meriwether ti bars 800mm wide with around 25 degree sweep. They’re lovely. Running one set on a rigid 29er and one set on an Orange Stage Evo.
Can be made to your preference for sweep.

Is it actually UK made or is it European made with finishing and build in the UK?

Not that I’m bothered but it’s a bit unclear from the marketing

Two folk festivals so far for me:
Underneath the Stars near Barnsley which was so so and Shrewsbury Folk Festival which was ace. All very relaxed and managed to drink Mild all day long for four days.
Sisters of Mercy tonight at the Roundhouse which will be very different!
Last band I saw before lockdown as well in Nottingham 2020.

1998 WTB SST 98 saddle. Got two but both are going strong, though well scuffed. Best shape ever for me.
