So should the bb butt right up to the shim/compression washer thing and thats all that should be showing, just seems a lot none of the compression washer wanted to go into the bb with ease

So is the bb correct and are we missing a washer between the bb and the cogs?

Blank Grommets sorted! Spoke to someone else from ATB,, job done :)

That would be awesome, im after the 2 blanking grommets for the top tube. The small circular one near stem and longer oval/rectangular one near seatpost

Despite ringing Whyte (well ATB), not a great result from this suprising really as they were really helpful last time i had an issue with a seatclamp.

I have paid 12quid from my nearest Whyte dealer nearly 40miles away and got grommets that dont fit my frame :(

I have realised what i am after is the grommet blanking plates, i know this is a long shot and im going to try Whyte again tomorrow but does anyone have any spare blank Whyte G150 frame grommets?

Fixed. Popped to LBS just for a bit of a tweak.

Chain length was fine.
I had run chain wrong side of plate on rear mech.
Also, need3d to tweak chain line as i had lined it up against bottom cog instead of top.

All good now

Loop is not that tight, cables tight when in top ring as expected but its plenty slack when in bottom

I checked the b screw its not that, it only gets quite tight onto the last big ring and you feel a bit of resistance in the crank like as if you have squashed the bearings

Yeh more so when trying to get it into the top gear (granny ring)

Nomad seems out my price range, if i could get a Five which took 160 forks i think that would be perfect.

Failing that the others i would co sider are the Alloy Strive, Alpine and Alloy Bronson.

Blimey i always thought Orange was expensive but some of these are amazing. Quite a few here out my price range but look great.

My Whyte is now in pieces and ready for me to decide what to go for, ideally i want to spend sub £1000 used on the frame. I really like the Canyon Strive and also the Alpine still seems to have a soft spot the only reason i think is because i did my best riding on a Five, but looks like the Five AM (looks like the 160 version of the Five) frames are hard to come by.

Whats the Kona like, last one i had was a coiler deluxe and i havent looked back since

What don’t you like about the G150?
it really is low to the ground, and im forever clipping the ground,, plus want a change :), I never really got to grips with it aswell as I did my Orange Five.

How often is the ‘odd’ downhill day?
Probably 10+ days a year, trips to Antur, Revolution, BPW then the odd freeride park. I always do the black runs (apart from the rock drop at Antur)

Anyone changed from a 26″ Five to a 650b Five and felt a lot difference?

now theirs a decision.. the last Five I rode was a 26″, and I did everything on it – iv started to mainly do XC but Im always looking for a drop so like the bike to be nimbler. My Whyte has been fun but not as playful as my Five was.

I was toying with going back to 26″ Five but didn’t realise they had phased them out (iv obviously been asleep)

It’s done, goo in specific spot worked,, now solid. Just quickly if you think you have put too much goo in, is there away of getting it out?

Right, iv managed to seal the tyre on to the rim and it is staying up. however, when I get the pressure in the tyre to over 40psi Im getting no leaking from the tyre but it’s leaking through the side of the rim?!?, iv checked both rims and there the same they both have a join and there’s air leaking from the join, any ideas if I can resolve this?

Are these the wire bead Sammy Slicks that come with CAAD-Xs?
