Took it out for another ride after taking some pics on my quake and comparing. I knew it rode fine, so gave it a bit more of a push up a hill and absolutely fine. Iv had it for 1800 notes, pretty happy with that!

What size would 18 be classed as, large or medium?

No not the 19, but I’m pretty certain that the 19 would be my ideal size. As I rode a heckler at 19 and it was spot on

Did a few today 3 in total. My son is only 3, he really enjoyed it whizzing round on his balance bike whilst I was trying to air of everthing.

We did cookley, kinver and kidderminster.

I would say cookley was the best then followed by kidderminster, not too impressed with kinver (wasnt much for me to play on)

So far so good. Nukeproof warhead flat bars added at 760mm, racing ralphs added and dropped the forks from 180 to 170, two rides in now, did a big one up eastridge and stiperstones the other day and the bike handles much better on the hills and totally still dominated on the downs. My mate has an alpine 160 and I left him for dust on the downs, when climbing I found with the wider bars I was able to get up when needed and really wrench myself up the hill so that worked. Hit two trees though which almost fetcjed me off with the wider bars. Totally happy with it now the angles have certainly worked better for me

The quakes not that pretty a bike so I think the GD will fit in nicely (tankish) if I can get hold one one 2nd hand that is :)

I have been looking into the reverb but I think its quite pricey, probably worth it but a lot. My mate has one on his alpine and I think its great, I had a Ks 900 before with the lever and that was good, had a fair bit of play but still functioned. The dropper will go on my Marin quake, im just thinking the gravity dropper may be better as from what I have read its easy to service yourself, robust and goes up/down at a reasonable price (well 2nd hand).

There is a GD on ebay which is size 27 I need 31.6 but the guy does have the shim. How trusty are Shims never used them before just get the right sized seatpost

Whats the main different between Gravity droppers and the Tmars/Icelift efforts apart from price? Anybody got any experience with them

Already have a Dhx air shock on it, its a great shock, thanks for all the advice.

Still going to keep it, I love the bike – for me handles so well. As said before the only real part I struggled was when standing to pedal on the up, felt that even with a good body shift I was miles over the front

Too easy to get a new bike, the bike handles great, just needs a small tweak for me to ride perfect. Weight doesn’t really bother me as I’m all about the downhill drops jumps roots, I just want it to climb slightly better
