Great, so there is already a base layer of MOT down so the idea was to just put some sand on top of the MOT

Great thanks for the advice. What would be the difference between going 16g or 18g. Is 18g more likely to split the wood? (being pallet wood)

For the type of work I’m going to be doing I think il need a straight nailer as won’t be doing too much on the angle.

Il stay away from Paslode. For me it sounds like Dewalt or Makita are the way forward especially for the battery reasons.

Makita seem to do the 16G as a straight nailer – and there is a few on the second hand market.

Dewalt not so much, they are mainly angled that are for sale second hand

Ok great – there is a narrow option and I can reduce the frame rate.

Was thinking of recording at 2.7k rather than 4k as it will just been shown on teams? Or should I go 1080P ?

Fab thanks for the replies – which one did you have the Dewalt or the Makita, I spoke to a friend who said the Makita was good – wondered if the Dewalt was similar, as more Dewalts available?

Managed to capture the noise on camera – you can hear it about 8secs in.

Thanks – only bit I’m struggling with is it only happens when I’m sat down, if I change body position/shuffle around it stops – but when I get back to a natural biking position it starts again.

I could try those, the bike went back and they supposedly torqued everything up. Il give that a whirl tomorrow

It only makes the noise when pedalling so I’d expect the axle would be ok?

So Iv tried several things now and the noise isn’t as bad but it’s still there.

i notice that when i pedal quicker the noise gets quicker – it’s not a massive sound, I’m not even sure if it’s a creak now – but when i shift my weight on the bike .. it goes.

im tempted to put a normal seatpost in it and see if its the dropper

Dropper post is new – they replaced that as the original was making a noise in the frame (rattling). I tightened the saddle pretty tight onto rails. From memory it happens when pedalling light or hard but doesnt do it when i stand up.

    Il try that carbon paste

Thanks for the reply – in that scenario I would expect it to creak the whole time not just when pedalling as when I’m compressing the bike when rolling I have no issues

I just spoke to Trailhead in Shrewsbury and they said they wont be getting anything in stock again due to Whyte going down the E-Bike Route,, however as soon as i said what size i was – just under 6ft 3 he said id need an XL.

But..im still doing my research to make sure i can see how it will fit.

Great guidance, so the tyres I’m running at the moment are Maxxis High roller 2 3C maxx terra EXO TR – are they classed as heavy duty.

Being honest I’m pretty heavy (at the moment 😂), at just under 17 stone but even at my goal weight 15 stone il never be light.

This is the first +tyre bike I have owned so just want to get it set up correctly for what I’m planning on doing, two friends have them on their bikes and they are trying to sell me the benefits, but I’m not sure at the moment.

im guessing with plus tyres if the pressures were firm then I’d have no issues with berms at speed?

How would the pocket fair on a chest mount – would it be uncomfortable, Iv had action cameras in the past and I do like to ride POV but probably spend most of the time with it on the ground getting footage – I tend not to push the trails that hard these days 🤕 but would like the option to do POV

Looks like this may have gone further south from this so i need another shock for definete now – i opened it up following a Youtube video and i think the Propedal grub screw has snapped off in the shock :/

Im presumming its 184mm x 44mm looking at other adverts but just after confimation if anyone else knows?

Thanks – I did take a look on YouTube but there doesn’t seem to be many videos of MTB using the camera, have you got any recorded footage I could perhaps look at on YouTube?

Is it worth getting the RP2 serviced/repaired or is this not cost effective.

Looking on eBay etc – but they do look pretty pricey?

How is the best way to
Measure stroke length – I saw a video that you need to remove the air, compress the shock and then measure eye to eye.

I can’t even compress the shock with removing all the air :/

I had never really heard of the Transmitter until i started looking at similar bikes to the Whyte.

I am going 2nd hand with the Whyte 901 being a 2019 and the Transmitter being a 2021, i can get something around the £500 mark

Iv just been looking at the Trek Roscoe 7 as these seem a good value for money bike on the used market. Whats the sizing like on them im just under 6ft 2 so im in the Large/XL territory. In the past iv gone for Large as i like to sit more upright on my bike saves my back arching?

    astura

So I’m happy to go second hand – will need an XL. I really want plus tyres as I need the cushioning- my joints are not great :/

As slack as I can get really – anything 65 degrees or lower I suppose.

    Perfect Northwind Thankyou! :)

“You’ll have to switch from the 44mm zero stack upper cup to an external one- there’s no space to offset the steerer in a ZS cup but moving to an external one gives them the space to do it. But that’s also OK since you’ve got that 15mm tapered cup anyway so you’ll end up with a 10mm or so taller headset, and just use a shorter spacer”

Will the standard spacer come with the set i buy from superstar to replace the 15mm cap i have on at the moment?

I am looking at anything, I was even considering a small YETI this morning – my eldest loves his FIVE and I think I’d only get him to part with it for another FIVE, my youngest wouldn’t care he would be up for any alternative

Iv decided what to do…finally :) Im going to try and get a Small Orange Five around the 2012 age and give my youngest the 14″
