Yep I am going, doing all 5 this year! I think they are great events and recommend people give them a go. I have definitely noticed numbers are down this year from previous years though. Probably down to lasts years poor weather putting folk off.

Yes it does, I used it to bleed my XT 785’s.

I have a 2005 V50 so the pre-facelift. I genuinely love it to be honest. I mean it does handle like a barge and I get around 220 miles to a tank (I have the T5) but it does everything I want and in comfort.
Things to look out for are the air con compressor as they are low down like curvature has said. The suspension components seem to be made of cheese so it is worth looking at what has been replaced as could be costly to fix if you have multiple items that need replacing.
Interior wise it seems to be holding up well considering its on 121k now with no annoying rattles or squeaks.
I would definitely recommend a test drive of one. People on the owners club seem to like the 1.8 petrol if you are not doing big miles that might warrant a diesel.

Seeing as you have said central heating boiler rather than combi, it would suggest you need a system boiler.
I would definitely recommend a Worcester, especially if you get an installer who is able to offer a seven year guarantee (think you have to install the Worcester filter now to qualify)
I am a sparky and wire 2-3 boilers a week for a local firm and being honest i haven’t know a system boiler to give any trouble.
Admittedly they are basic but seem very reliable.
If you want a combi boiler, again i would definitely recommend a Worcester still, i can’t really compare to other brands but the customer service/guarantee has been second to none and that is the service i have received for my own boiler, not just customers.
Either way, i think your £800-900 budget is a bit optimistic for a quality installer.

I bought a TR frame from CRC a couple of weeks ago for £875 so if you wait a bit longer it will probably get even cheaper.
I went for the silver and i think it looks ace but you can’t remove the decals. I bought mine as it was cheaper than the competition and gets good reviews.
Only had one ride so far and pleased with it, but can’t honestly say it is any better than my Stereo it replaced.
Hopefully will give it a proper test ride this weekend

Thanks for the input so far, Faustus £1200 is a lot of money to me too, it’s just if you look around £2K+ seems to be the norm for a frame, especially one to fit my requirements.
Thanks Shackleton i totally forgot about the Mega, will have a quick look at those now.

I have worked for the same firm for the last 10 years and have never had any regular kind of payslips, in fact the last one i had was Oct 2010. The worst bit it is I have only 1 P60 in the last 10 years!
I will be honest I never used to think about it as I was living at home with the folks but now as I am older I need proof of earnings etc.
Me and the other lad at work have been asking for the last 9 months that we want payslips and our P60 but keep getting bullshit excuses why he hasn’t sorted it.
We are starting to think something fishy is going on to be honest and don’t know what to do.
Sorry to hijack the thread but if anyone is is the know what we can do it would be good!

It will more than likely be fine on 6mm, apply diversity then see what you get.

Solo riders should in my opinion have a designated area as close as possible to the track/start finish as it would be a nightmare to go too far to get supplies etc.
I have to be honest I have not looked at a map of things, maybe my mate was exaggerating?
I guess I will find out saturday!
Good luck and happy riding to others that are doing it!

To be honest, we are a bit worried about space.
I have beem told by my team mate that the campsite is about 1/3 of the size of eastnor.
We are not greedy with space but we have a caravan and potentially 4/5 vehicles to park plus a tent or 2.
I think we will have to arrange a meet point and come in 1 to 2 vehicles to save space which too be fair is a ballache as we come from all over!
I also dont like the idea of not being able to take your car off site during the race hours as like us we have people who finish work on a saturday and need picking up!
Looks like the day carpark will be overflowing!

Hmmm, exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday, literally 1 minute after getting the bike out of the van the button snapped off at the bike park.
What annoyed me the most is that i had/have 3 days here in Afan.
Twig as a makeshift lever for the win.

As a local to eastnor i am pretty gutted its moving as its only 10 minutes from my house and i dont fancy a 40 mile drive home after being up for 24+ hours.
Some of us did hear a rumour of eastnor estate slapping the organisers with a 40k bill for ruining the grounds.
I have been back for mud runner in November and you could still see the track layout.

Like what Brant says, but I would NOT buy another. IMHO overrated. Also everybody I ride with has started calling me Magneto from x-men. Starting to annoy me now after 6 months of it…

The reason is down to the lateral forces on the bearings.
With cartridge there is no give as such so inevitablely ruining bearings over (which can be a very quick) time.
Shimano have obviously spent time and money testing to come to the conclusion that Cup and Cone is better.

As far as I am aware Rockshox accept the use of a shim 4″ long minimum, which does limit your choices apparently.
I have a USE on my carbon stereo with Reverb with no problem yet.
Infact the next carbon stereo up from mine has a Reverb and shim from factory so I would not worry and get it fitted.

You obviously dont mind a long wait as they are not back in stock until the end of july!
Keep us posted if they turn up sooner.

Mine came on the bike, so yes OEM and don’t come with covers.
I have tried loads of places but nobody seems to stock them or want to order them in for me.

The part numbers you need are,

    Y6UU98090
    Y6UV98080

    http://www.madison.co.uk/searchresults.aspx?style=0&kw=Y6UU98090

The parts on your links are actually the base that the indicators attach too, not the blanking covers.

Who quoted you that price? I am sure when I looked on Madisons website they were 4 quid each or something.

Definitely mixed ability as just choose the distance you feel comfortable doing.
I have done 3 now all middle marathons (50k)ish and find them perfect as I think a 75 would be too much and a 25 is not enough.
Give it ago I think you would enjoy it, also a good starter of you have not done any events before as you can take it as seriously as you want.

I only used to use online shops as they are cheaper than my lbs and have a lot more variety but for the last couple of months I have been solely using my lbs and will continue to do so.
Most people I know moan about it, but if they went bust or something no doubt they would moan there is no bike shop around our parts.
I dont mind paying an extra fiver for a pair of shorts as I get to try it on and see the product in the flesh etc.
Also the Mrs is easily blagged by the bloke who works there so I always end up coming out with extra stuff I want but would usually get moaned about buying online.
    Win win IMO.

Umm Iain it is a brand new bike so not my problem, luckily I decided to change tyres and catch it when i did cubes fault for the rubbing as whoever built it at factory made front mech outer too short.
Anyway it is currently in bike shop as warranty claim for new frame being sorted.

I agree with what you are saying NW, to be honest I missed the bit about riding it over winter as half cut, but my point being I could believe it taking a day to rub through carbon as mine did. If you do know that you have rubbing why leave it? Asking for trouble.

I do actually believe it could happen in a day Northwind, I will get a picture of my cable rubbed carbon cube after approx 5-6 hours riding.

I would not be put off personally, its 10 years old! That only an average 15-16k a year which is not that far off the average of 12k now adays.
Obviously haggle with the seller but if its been looked after i don’t see a problem.

Mine arrived too, with a free gift. Shame I have to wait at least another 4 weeks for my new bike to come before using it.

I really hate my bosses vito, I hate the gear shift – clunky, not comfy – steering wheel is not centred to the drivers seat, central locking only works when it wants, rusty as hell.
He is supposed to be replacing it in the new year with a vito dual liner so keeps windings me up telling me he is selling my van (tranny connect) and I am having his, ain’t going to happen!!!!

Funnily enough i have also experienced juddering with these rotors, more so when using standard avid pads in the wet.
If i am honest i dont think they have the power or the feel of a standard 160mm avid rotor (in my 180mm), but you dont have as much braking surface because of the design.
Looks or performance is what it comes down too imo.
