Ashy – 99% certain cannondale only let you fit a 180mm rotor on a lefty…
I tried to look for a 203mm adaptor and read that 180mm is the max.

I think she is great, listen to her quite a lot. Nearly bought tickets to her show in London the end of last year but the wife hates her (only because i think she is fit) so i missed out.

With the C2W scheme can you add your own money to the £1k budget?
I am currently looking at cx bikes for around a grand-ish and i currently have this at the top of my list at the moment….

I think it’s a well known fact that Volvo suspension parts are made of cheese.
I have had my V50 4 years and it regularly has to have tracking done.
This was one of my front tyres 6 months after having new tyres and tracking.

The marathon series again for me this year. They have dropped it down to 4 events, which sucks.
Still unsure about trying to get a team together for mayhem, if they still have spaces left.
Planning on doing a few local xc races the end of the year.

That Volvo is lovely! Thanks for your replies. Hunting for one close enough for a test drive…just looking at figures and the 2.7 is £500 a year to tax, may have to forget to tell the wife about that…

Like what Northwind says, not comparable at all. It sounds weird but if you go expecting an amazing day out, you will probably be disappointed as they only have a few trails to ride. But i am a big fan.
My last visit was eventful and funny, for me anyway! we hit the 4X first and my mate somehow, didn’t get clipped in properly and within 20 meters of the start gate, he was on the floor having got his crown jewels dragged into the back wheel and into the frame! Then after lunch he completely messed up a jump and used his rather nice troy lee lid as a brake, then to make matters worse, i cracked his carbon bars trying to get them straight after his crash.
As my local uplift spot, i have been quite a lot the back end of last year, i really like it.
As i have said before on previous threads, the uplift drivers are great and you are never really hanging around too much, they sometimes take staggered lunches so you can carry on riding without a lunch break.
It seems more relaxed than Bike Park, more than likely because its less busy but i am sure you will enjoy it.
One thing to point out is, as there are no trees, be careful and watch your speed as its easy to hit things too fast as you have no visual reference of how fast you are going.

I got my bike out of the shed last week after 6 or 7 weeks and my stealth post was sagging, probably 5-10mm.
It had been stored in the down position, but after taking it out on a ride and keeping it in the house next to a radiator overnight, the post is now solid again!
Very weird! I thought it was going to be a warranty job, but will keep a close eye on it.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

I used a 500ml bottle and cage on my large and it worked fine. I now use the fabric bottle.
Good to know about the 750ml not fitting.

Has anybody else had problems yet with their Mavic SLR wheels?
I am having a nightmare, my lbs had a look and replaced the bearings but the movement in the hub returned after 2 miles or so, I sent them back to Paul’s cycles and finally got them back with a note saying the bearings have again been replaced.
Tried to fit them to the bike last night and now they do not fit!
The preload screw doesn’t do anything, almost like it is too short.
With my crank bros wheel, you screw it on and off the hub using the preload screw but my slr pushes straight on and the bolt is rattling around.
Help please as warranty is up soon and it is a ball ache to keep sending them back and forth!

Thanks for clearing it up. I would rather be safe than sorry.
Guess i have been lucky i haven’t had an accident or anything in my car as 3 or so years ago i wrote off the company work van, have since gone self employed and have never declared it, thinking that my own insurance is not affected.
Rather stupid of me for thinking that to be honest.
Damage isn’t too bad, but will cost me a lot more than the £300 excess and the cost of hiring a van while it’s away being sorted if i pay for it myself.

I have a mk7 Diablo up top with a mk6 Sixpack on the bars.
the Diablo is a neat little light, good spread of light and the tap function is good.
I have bought the ‘support cells’ for both lights but haven’t needed to see them yet.
Love the fact they are cable free and run times are pretty good.

Do you mean cable ties or cable guides?

Unfortunately, only shock is the Dyad as it’s a pull shock.

When i was looking for a 203mm adaptor i read that cannondale only warrant a 180mm rotor on the lefty and I guess they don’t make them because of that reason.

Dhr2 is a great tyre in my experience, good grip and good under braking.
I am running the non 3C version. Currently running a HR2 3C front Dhr2 rear. I quite like the SS although i haven’t ridden it in wet winter months.
It must be ocd as i can’t run 2 different tyre brands on my bike’s….just wrong.

I have been using 2.8 Rekon’s for the last 3 weeks and put quite a few miles on them. Very happy with them, using them on trail centres and natural trails. Grippy and roll very well.
Might look at getting the ikon next spring for the rear.

@zerolight, wheels have been great so far. Bearings are still going strong, no rim dings and are as still as true as when they arrived.

JNM1- Why have you fitted a bigger rotor to the rear? Do you not find it has messed up the balance when braking?
Seems odd as front brakes on all car, motorbikes, mtbs are bigger than the rear

I haven’t ridden a jekyll so can’t comment, but i love my trigger. It’s the only bike i have liked straight out of the box. Does everything from marathons to uplift days…..
Maybe not the best in it’s class, but generally good at everything in my experience.

Do whatever you feel is comfortable, no set rule. Fwiw, I have mine set so the blade of the lever is on the first joint up from the tip of my index finger before I pull the lever….if that makes sense?

Just ride what you have, unless you think you are going to be competitive and be top 1/4, no point building and spending money on a bike for 24hrs.

I have the fabric water bottles on both bikes and can say they work very well. Have read a few reviews about them being awkward to replace back on studs when riding but i can’t say i have struggled.

I went a few weeks ago and had a good day out, like has been said, as long as you dont go there thinking it compares to BPW i am sure you will have fun.
Give it a year or 2 and i think it will be up there with bike park.
I found the cafe a bit slow, good food, just slow service. Drivers were really good, a laugh and very chatty.
I felt the whole day was more relaxed than BPW, me and my mate liked it so much we are back there this sunday.

This is interesting, after 7 months of my Lefty being fine, yesterday 10 miles into the Ruthin Mtb Marathon, it lost all air and bottomed out, tried to re-inflate using the mechanics shock pump but it wasn’t having any of it. Was pretty carp doing the last 20 miles on the bump stops. When i got back to the van, pumped up using my cannondale pump and it felt normal for about 3 pushes on the fork, then sank down to nothing…..
