Dublin was probably my favourite city breaks so far.
As has been mentioned, jump off the bus wherever you fancy the look of and hop back on to find somewhere else to look around.
Quite a few tourist sites to keep you occupied.

Personally i would swap the DHF for a High Roller II.
I have tried, but i just can’t seem to get on with the DHF.
Other option would be the DHR2, not personally tried it on the front, but others have and seem to like it.
I liked the aggressor on the back when riding all sorts of trails and conditions.

How long have you had your 905 Andy?
I bought it from leisure lakes, they are only 30 mins away, but the workshop is only open mon-fri so awkward to take time out of my day to take it back and pick it up. Will have a look at the gears later or tomorrow and do any adjustments myself.

Thanks all, hopefully it will ride as good as it looks.

Already decided to have an afternoon off this week and take it out as 2 weeks is too long to wait….

This is just down the road from my mum’s house.
Being honest, for £600k, i would want something a bit more special.
It was lacking something….yes the views are great round this part of the world, but it is right on the road, on a blind bend so pulling off the drive is a nightmare to start.
There have been some great houses on GD over the years, but this isn’t one.

Thanks all, don’t know how i missed that on their website!

I came across a few 65k riders who were at a junction on the main road who looked pretty lost and asked what length i was doing.
Then when approaching the event village, around 5 or 6 guys were heading back down the road. Maybe locals heading home?

I am boring, the only bike i fancy is a Whyte 905, after 5 or more years of riding full sus bikes, i find myself wanting a nice hardtail.

Go on the relive app and go to your account in the bottom right hand corner, see if strava is connected. If not either reconnect the two apps or if it is, disconnect the apps and try reconnecting.

I hope the link works? On my relive app, it won’t make a video, until i have pressed the box first

Have you tried going onto the app and pressing the pencil in the square on the ride you have done?

I find i have to go on the app to start it making it. Prefer the old auto method.

Yes, i was there. Just got back home.
I found it tough to be honest, toughest round this year.
Pushing up the first big climb was frustrating, would love to know if the fast guys at the front managed to ride up any of it.
Can’t wait to see what next year brings.

I popped into my lbs to check on progress of my bike which is in for service and a few repairs.
While i was waiting, i was looking at the shiny new 905 by the counter, i must say, it is a very nice looking bike.
Spent most of last night reading reviews, which all seem pretty positive.
I am going to pop in again this morning for a proper look and see if i can have a quick spin.

My brother lost his Garmin and has replaced it with an Elemnt Bolt. Granted it was an edge 25 that he lost not a 520, but he really rates the Bolt for the money, he said he saved £150 over the equivalent Garmin.
Must admit i had never heard of them, but they seem to get very good reviews.

If you are planning on using it on the road, i would definitely be looking at something 2x.

I personally wouldn’t mix brands, just looks wrong to me….
But it’s your bike, if you want to try it, crack on.

What accessories are you having? White plastic? Polished chrome?

What lights are you having? Standard pendants or downlights?

Hard to say without a proper spec. Are they a member of the competent person scheme?
Have they put in the quote to provide certificate at the end of the job?

Nope, gold glitter works just as well in my experience.

Just my 2p….he has paid for a service, which, let’s be honest looks pretty poor in places.
The “just get out and ride it” comments do wind me up a little as i bet you wouldn’t really be happy if that was the standard of work on your new pride and joy.
You pay for something and you want it to be the best job possible, that job simply isn’t so he has a right to complain.

My lbs….wont be spending a penny with them for a good while. Ordered and payed for quite an expensive part (£210) told it would be 2-3 days. Dropped in after 4 weeks to be told they had sold the part they got in to another customer!
In all it took 8 weeks to get it!

Electrician may have put the neutrals in on the wrong rcd side, assuming it’s a split load board.
Without proper testing, it’s hard to diagnose or give proper advice.
Getting the sparky back would be the first thing i would do…

Embrace the lycra! I used to snigger at roadies in lycra but i have been converted since getting my cx bike and doing a lot of road.

I have the stock 33c Rocket Ron for off road and 35c G-One for road duties.
I would say you could get a 38c in there.
I will be honest, i didn’t look at others at the time as it was exactly what i was looking for.
Now i have got into it a bit more, i do sometimes think going for a more adventure bike with more tyre clearance would be good

I have a cross race pro. Bought it new in April.
It’s my first cx bike so can’t really compare it to anything.
I have done an mtb marathon on it, then changed the tyres over and did 80 miles on the road to weston-super-mare last Saturday.
The spec is good for the money and they are good looking bikes.
I would definitely sit on one, i am 5’8 and the shop recommended a 53cm but it feels a tad short (just like my old cube mtb)

Give them a call. I had to give them £3500 after my tax return in Jan. I had the money, but i wanted to keep some money in the bank as a buffer as the wife was due to give birth in the following few weeks so i was going to be taking some time off etc.
I paid £1500 then split the remaining 2k over 4 months. They charged me a massive £8 interest for paying it over instalments.

    http://backcountryresearch.com/race-strap-mtb-saddle-mount.html

This is what i use, its great! I use it on both mtb and road bike. I can fit a tube, 1 tyre lever, 2 Co2 cartridges and the inflator tool thingy under the saddle and a tiny multitool in my jersey pocket.
Only thing missing is a chain tool

Don’t do it, or seriously think about the pro’s and con’s.
I contract to a private school and see my fair share of kids with behaviour issues, which is put down to not seeing their parents from one term to the next.
I can’t go into details, but it has definitely changed my opinion on schooling and what is best for kids.

Yes it will, with the right adaptor.
180mm max on the front if running a lefty.

I would like to know if or where the 105 hydro reach adjust is, bringing them closer would definitely give me more confidence downhill on my cx bike.

I agree with chrisrob, good for road, not that good for mtb.
They did say that i could do the mounts up tighter so it grips the bottle better, but if i tighten them anymore its a struggle to actually pull the bottle off while riding as its so tight.

I wouldn’t bother going for the fabric one.
I have had 3 now, all 3 fell off the bike at relatively low speed and the last one fell off on to long grass and all have split along the bottom.
I sent an email to them, the reply i got back was, they are designed to split easily so when they fall off the bike, the bike can ride over them.
They did say, the new batch is made from a more flexible material though so might not split as easily as the older ones.

According to the schwalbe website, it seems the Evo compound rolls better and has slightly more, on road grip and protection than the Performance compound.
A pair of Evo is around £25 more a pair…worth it?

Thanks all, i have just had a look at the speed version but not sure i would be happy to leave them on for my local rides as the Malverns can be pretty rough and rocky.
Look ideal for road and more smooth riding though.

Can’t say i have heard of spd specific bike’s….

Seriously i wouldn’t bother spending any more time or money on them. How much have you actually spent buying pads and having them fixed?
As Stilltortoise has said, pick up a set of slx for around £100 and bin the deores…..
