Jam bo…we are taking our daughter with us, so there will be none of that during the day.
Maybe after a few glasses of wine in the hot tub ;)

But if you mean something else….

With the growing popularity of ebikes, i am not suprised they doing more on that front, bit suprised they are dedicating a whole channel to ebikes though.

I quite like the existing gmbn line up so i will be interested to see how they split their time between shows or if they move to a more permanent position on each channel.

I have put a set of soft (orange) MM on my hardtail.
They were excellent at bike park wales yesterday, really impressed with them.

    I am only 5’8, but i have a 2018 909.
If you can’t have a sit on one, i would trust their size guide, my medium is pretty much bang on for me.
Good shout about changing the stem to the 40mm one.

Does the Epic bleed kit come with the bleeding edge tool?

I have just bought some 2.8 Magic Mary’s in soft compound (orange) for my 909 hardtail.
Yes they are draggy, but the taller knobs seem to cut into the slop better than the stock HR2 and Rekon.
Will be using the Schwalbe’s for winter them put the Maxxis back on for summer.

Yes, i like them. Strong and i find them comfortable.
I am a bit of a Joystick fanboy though, using their bars, grips and carbon saddle.

May get some dutch courage and book the rest after a bottle of red, then tell the wife….

Update…just got back from Slam 69 with a set of Mary’s in Soft compound!

Emailed them this morning and they checked stock and put them aside for me.

Nice shop and staff, not too far for me so will definitely be using them again.

Professionally, i would recommend an external switched fused spur with a flex outlet near the towel rad to connect the flex up to.

As long as nothing else is spurred off the existing socket outlet, yes you can spur off the socket.

Nothing wrong with just plugging it in (external of the bathroom) as long as it has the appropriate fuse in the plug top.

Thanks Russ, i will give them a call in the morning, even though they are showing out of stock.

A mate said that Slam have bought most of the UK supply of plus size so worth a phone call i guess.

Thanks all for your replies, especially thanks to sparkyspice.

Where abouts are you based out of interest? Just thinking i could take her away for a few days and suprise her with a balloon ride.

Flights being cancelled is not a big problem as i am self employed, i don’t think the wife would like a 5:30 am start due getting up to the baby during the night.

Definitely a few things to think about, may ask her if she knows what’s involved next time she mentions it.

@TheDTs..we are in Worcestershire so Worcester racecourse is the nearest ‘fly over’ as they put it on their website.

You can definitely get 2.8 HR, i have one but i am moving from Maxxis to Schwalbe as their pricing is a bit more sensible.
I am going for a 2.8 Magic Mary for the front, cant decide between another Mary in Speedgrip or a Nobby for the rear.
Works out ar around £52 per tyre delivered from Germany.

Both of my pairs arrived today, despite both being size 45,the flats are a little tight but not uncomfortable, the clips feel spot on…
Once worn in the flats will be fine.

Good spot Tracey, have ordered a pair of clipless shoes. Tempted to order a pair of the flats for casual use for that price.

They are going to make it worth their while to do the job, not worth going to pick up new flue from merchants, driving to your house, get kit out, fit new part, test if necessary, put kit back on van and drive to next job to only charge you £50 is it really…
I am a sparky so unsure about needing a gas engineer, but i would as it’s a gas appliance they would be working on…

@ nobeer….it is a rebadged Tranz-x/ Brand-x ascend. Work’s ok, i like to hear a clunk when the saddle is back up but mine is silent so i find myself checking its all the way up occasionally.

Had my mind set on getting a T-130 but having read reviews and now knowing i can put my plus wheels from my 909 on it, i am actually thinking about going to my lbs and having a look at one in the flesh.
My thoughts are 29er mode for mtb marathons and similar events, then going plus for uplift days etc….

I don’t think you would be disappointed with the 909….i love mine, great bike.

I have the stealth Whyte drop.it on my 909 which is a rebranded Brand-X/Trans-X ascend.
Works ok, the return is a little slow and quiet compared to the stealth reverb on my trigger, i find myself double checking it’s all the way back up as i don’t hear a clunk like on the reverb.
If i was to buy a new dropper now, i would definitely go for the much cheaper Brand-X.
No need to spend hundreds of pounds on one in my experience..

Me and a few mates got tickets for the sport…
So, will i survive on a 130mm hardtail?

    Whyte 909
Failed 1st ride 17 miles in.
Failed 2nd ride 17 miles in.
    Survived 3rd ride.
Both times i was riding the top part of Launch Pad @ FOD, is that a blue??
    Clipped in, size 10.

A plasterer i work with is completely illiterate…his wife sorts out any paperwork on his behalf.
His boss did offer and pay for him to go to college to learn how to read and write but he gave up as the lads on site ribbed him a lot for doing it as he was in his 50’s.
He has done alright for himself though, mortgage free and i reckon he has a fair few quid in the bank.
I often wonder because of him not being able to read and write has been an advantage to not get into debt and lead a simple life.

A bit of an update from me, having had the bike back, the mechanic did actually confirm that the mech hanger was bent.
New hanger, new mech and even though i have only had one ride on it since, it was shifting very well and is still in one piece..
I will probably head back down to the fod this friday and see how it behaves.

How much are you getting off it out of interest?
The only thing that i would be worried about is warranty….will it come with one as you are getting a discount?

I have had 2 rides on my new bike fitted with GX Eagle.
Both rides have ended due to the rear mech spitting out the top jockey wheel.
Its back in the bike shop having mech number 3 fitted in 34 miles.
Both times it happened to me was at the same place on the same trail a week apart.
I thought it may be a bent mech hanger as the chain has been rubbing on my tyre (see pics) but the bike shop had it in the workshop while i was there and they said it was fine.
Be interesting to see what they say when i pick it up later this week…..

From experience i would not bother.
I have been through 4 bottles in the last 12-18 month’s.
If you plan on going off road you have to really tighten the studs to stop the bottle falling out, which makes it pretty impossible to remove and put back while riding…

Fused spur outside with a flex outlet behind appliance….
Seen that done a few times.

Medium is top end of the size guide for you. They recommend 5’6 – 5’10.

Thanks all, as i haven’t had to go rushing to the toilet, my thoughts were that it either hasn’t manifested itself into full blown gastroenteritis like the wife hss/had or i have got away with a lesser bug that has been suggested.

It’s not my first big mile ride this year and i have another sportive booked for November so it’s not a big deal if i don’t do it.

I would like to pass my entry to someone else if i don’t do it myself to save wasting the entry fee.
