I’ve had lots of comments about my traceR being very bright, if I lost it I’d buy another without hesitation.

It’s getting on 4 years old but still holds charge perfectly the only thing is I had to buy a new silicone strap a couple of weeks back as the original had gone really thin on the sides.

I think the petrol in my car is worth more than the car so yes the bike is worth a lot more.

I bought myself a garmin vivoactive last week and I’m really happy with it so far, I was torn between the garmin and a Fitbit surge but went for the garmin because of the higher quality screen and the garmin is waterproof. So far it’s really comfortable to wear, easy to use, the gps tracking seems spot on and the smart watch features are handier than I expected.

The garmin connect phone app takes a little getting used to but I’ve got the hang of it now, downloading new watch faces was a bit fiddly but sorted now.

Check out technimatics website for some more awesome mixes, http://technimatic.com/mixes/

The solid steel and flash bulb mixes are both excellent.

Resogun sounds like the sort of thing you’re after, quick and easy to pick up and play, no story or cutscenes just chasing high scores. its probably my favourite ps4 game.

Kask Rex here, comfiest helmet I’ve ever worn but I find it very hot, after an hour I’m dripping in sweat even when it’s not hot out.

I went very minimal with mine, hubs, seat clamp, chainring and lock rings. The frame is now grey but I haven’t got any recent pictures.

I’ve just got home from the first ride in ages on my full susser and it made me realise how much more I enjoy riding my hardtail.

    Here’s a pic of my 16″ raw

Unfortunately had a problem with the brake mount being slightly out of position so Dan Stanton replaced it, now have a grey frame but no pics of it.

I’m running a kmc chain with an m8000 mech and it works fine together.

I recently bought a pair of the mid top freerider eps shoes and found them a little bit big and had to go down a size.

I bought myself a sage duo temp pro a couple of weeks back and so far I’m impressed. It’s my first espresso machine and while it’s a bit more faff than I expected the coffee I’m getting from it is excellent so far.

Did you buy any games? Or are you trying the PS store offerings?
    Batman looks good….

I bought PS VR worlds, London heist is probably the best vr experience I’ve had so far and that’s on that disc but it is very short, the rest of the disc is just ok and I don’t think it’s worth £24 to be honest.

I also bought driveclub vr, I’m a big driveclub fan and with my season pass the game was half price, really enjoying it so far, visuals are a little bit of a let down but it is a very immersive experience.

I’m tempted by job simulator but it seems a little pricey for what it is so I’m going to wait for that to come down in price.

Batman does look good and is supposed to be quite fun.

Yep got my headset yesterday, that was my first experience of using vr and wow, totally blown away. Really impressed with it so far, head tracking and move controllers have worked perfectly too. Had a little bit of motion sickness after playing for about an hour but I don’t think it helped that I was really tired.

I don’t think there’s much of a benefit to playing non vr games on it, the resolution is lower than your HD tv and with no vr effects to wow you but it is like you’re playing on a cinema screen which pretty cool.

Is it worth the money? Probably not at the moment as there’s not much to play on it but I’m still really enjoying it for what it is.

    Here’s my raw Stanton switchback.

I’ve also got a raw alu Canyon Torque DHX but don’t have any pics on my phone.

    Hi,

I bought myself a Rex a couple of weeks back, I’ve only managed to use it once, it’s really comfortable almost to the point that you forget you’re wearing it. The only negative is that it was hotter than I expected, it was really hot that day to be fair and once I started going downhill I soon cooled off.

Seems well made and has loads of adjustments to get a good fit. I got mine from Scotby cycles and got 10% back through quidco.

    Cheers.

I’m using a 2.35″ bontrager xr3 team issue on the rear of my steel switchback, still got plenty of clearance even though it looks huge.

I ordered a torque dhx about 4 weeks ago that was showing as in stock, turns out the parts weren’t in stock and the delivery was delayed a week. It’s due this week so fingers crossed it turns up.

    Hi,

I’ve had my switchback since August and love it, way more versatile than it should be, I’ve used it at trail centres, on dh tracks and on a big Peak District loop with plenty of climbing and it was great for all of it.

I’m using a hope tech wheelset with a bontrager xr3 out back and an xr4 up front, I’m also using 150mm pike’s and it’s still a great climber.

    Hope that helps,
    Ash.

Ash, how does the switchback cope with uphill/decent length xc type riding? I’m interested but concerned that since its slacker than a slack thing it could be a bit wandery? Whether I’ll use it to its full potential is another thing entirely!

I’m not too sure about any decent length ride at the moment, only finished it Monday morning and took it to the FOD for a quick blast that afternoon. From that first ride it was a little wandery on the climbs but the fork is at 150mm at the moment and th frame is recommended for 140. Once I got used to it and adjusted my body position it was fine at climbing, it won’t get you to the top the fastest but coming down was really good, way better than I expected to be honest.

I also preorder from crc months ago and got fed up with seeing it in stock at lots of other retailers so I ordered from Evans and received it next day.

I took my intrepid apparel shorts to my local timpsons, they sent them away for repair, think it cost about £4 and they came back as good as new.

    Hi,

I’m in the same boat, I messaged Madison this morning and have had the reply that the covers will not be available until later in the year and they advised to leave the indicator window attached to the shifter to stop any muck getting in.

I’m a bit disappointed that the shifter didn’t come with the cover like they used to.

After using my mavic sx’s for about 18 months my freehub became really sticky with all the same symptoms you describe. I gave the freehub a good clean and put a few drops of mineral oil in there, it’s been as good as new ever since.

I picked up dying light for the ps4 this week after missing it at release, really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to until dawn at the end of August. Oh and I’m still addicted to resogun, easily my favourite ps4 game so far, survival mode is soooo good.

Thought I’d resurrect this thread rather than start another, so I should be getting the keys to my first house in two weeks and my first job is to paint the garage, for the floor I’ve bought an epoxy kit so that’s sorted but the thing I need some advice on is the walls, they’re a mixture of concrete block and bricks, I’ve googled it and there are a load of mixed opinions on what to use so what would you guys recommend, masonry paint? Emulsion? Emulsion watered down?

Here’s a pic of te walls to get an idea of what they’re like.

    Cheers,
    Ash.

    That’s great, thanks.

Just had a look and no single shifter and no medium mech 🙁

Looks like I’ll stick with my crc and starbike orders for the time being.

Hi bolt, where did you get your xt stuff from?

I’ve got all the parts I need to start a new build other than the mech, cassette and shifter.

    Ash.

I had an email notification from starbike.com this morning to say the medium cage mech was available, no news on the rest of the groupset yet though.

I’ve been using an exposure traceR for about 18 months now and it’s been great, I use it 6 days a week whatever the weather and its performed perfectly.

I’m 5’8″ and have gone for a 16.5″ switchback, haven’t built it yet though so I’m hoping it’ll fit!

I got my ps4 copy yesterday thanks to gameseek sending it out early, I’ve played about 2 hours of single player and maybe 30mins of multiplayer so far.

It’s ok, nothing spectacular, it doesn’t look as good as it probably should but the single player has been enjoyable so far and that’s what I bought it for. The single player is 100% a stealth game, sneaking around arresting people rather than running and gunning so if that doesn’t appeal to you then I wouldn’t bother.

Thanks for the reply squealer, that’s put my mind at ease, I’m also 5’8″ so I should be ok with the 16.5″ frame I’ve got.

That’s really nice squealer, if you don’t mind me asking what size is that and how tall are you?

I bought a 16.5″ frame a couple of weeks ago but have a bad feeling it might be a bit small for me, won’t really know until I get some wheels and do a bit of a mock build.

If you’ve got a ps4 I highly recommend pt, it’s a freebie in the demo section of the psn store and it’s by far the scariest thing I’ve ever played.

I replaced the wheels on my hack 2 over Christmas with a pair of mavic Aksium discs, they’re probably not as light as you want but they are only £140 from jejames.
