I’m totally with the OP, its just nice having another cup sat waiting and one never seems enough early in the morning.

Whilst bike fettling or similar you can drink from each cup at the same time, one either side of the bike so always close to hand.

Ive removed the screw, exactly like that YT vid. Theres just no oil coming out.
Ive tried taking out the light sensor thing and shining a torch on it so it keeps the pump running but it just gurgles, not a single drip of oil has appeared.

Id also welcome any opinions on whether BPW is doable/worth it on a rigid singlespeed?

We’re staying at the Merthyr Tydfil travellodge, also looking for somewhere reasonable for beers and grub near by….

We’re planning one day riding up to Grwyne Fawr, near the dam (what I know as a “killer loop” from a mtb magazine years ago ?) then staying at Merthyr.

My lads on his hardtail and I’ve only got my rigid singlespeed available so nothing too heavy. I’m not sure my bike would do at BPW.

Open minded really, something close to Merthyr, keen to get up some hills as usually ride swinley.

Good advice above, younger ones are very curious but generally fine. Older ones might just think you have some food.

Be confident, a stick helps if they do get too close but most are very nervous and will leggit once you wave them away.

My cows can outrun me, no way they’d beat a horse.

    Yep, a Mk 4.
Plugged it in and its fine, well the Cd player and changer is working. Still no FM reception, its like the aerial isn’t connected. Not too fussed but might replace the aerial.

    Had yours long Jambourgie ?

Do I need to unplug the battery first ?

I probably wont use the changer, but have a bluetooth/FM thingy for music from my phone so want the FM reception working and just want to complete all pretty lights :o)

I swear its getting vindictive. I sit looking out at bright sunny skies and think… I’ll mow the lawn, I’ll go for a ride, I’ll walk the dogs. As soon as I step outside it rains.

Go back in, the sun comes out…….

So not riding enough, dogs pissed off and lawn looks a mess.

That quote from the site a bit google’able isn’t it. Clear which shop it is now, although with such poor quality maybe not such a bad thing

Yep, I live near Hook and do see Chinooks, often in pairs coming over from Odiham. Sometimes with a landy hanging down below.

Used to live very close to AWE and we always had Chinooks coming very low over the house, used to shake the windows and we could see the pilots faces smiling down.

Most days its just Learjets going into Blackbush

Same as escrs, best thing we ever brought for the kids. Made lockdown last year pass by when the sun was shining. I even tried working whilst floating on an inflatable chair with the laptop, kinda worked aside from the sun burn.
Pump on for a few hours of an evening and thats it.

The old belt was very worn with chunks missing, 10 year old mower, previous belt was changed about 5 years ago.

Ordered a new mountfield belt and going to start removing the deck today. Hopefully it won’t take too long to arrive, I can almost see the grass growing 😟
I’ll be lifting the front wheels with jacks to get access.
It’s a more complex task than I’d usually try something of a challenge….

After years of doubting it I took the jump to tubeless a couple of months ago, wish I did it years back as my doubts were very unfounded.

I used gorilla tape, stand fluid and valves. Some wheels took lotst of attempts and fiddling with but using a standard track pump they all worked in the end. Be patient and it’s easier than it first appears.

Puncture free since, with the hedgerows round my way that’s a real change.

Had mine at 3pm (AZ), by 8pm had hot/cold shivers and was literally shaking, couldn’t stop shaking unless wrapped in several duvets.
Only felt that ill before when I had swine flu.
Took a couple of days to feel better. Not complaining, was a pleasure and honour to be offered it (through work, 46 yr old)

Cheers OP, it was a bargain and a very nice one too.
Lockdown meant a faff/courier was needed, thanks for sorting it so nicely Nick.

The lad and I spent a good day in the sun yesterday fettling.

It’s inherited a SLX chainset and BB, new stem, bars, saddle, grips and front wheel, tyres on their way.
    Photos to come.
Will try classifieds as now want a silver rear, 26″ wheel to match the front I found in the shed (Mavic, silver spokes)

It’s nippy, not unlike an older, steel version of my Cannondale trail 29ss

Sat here waiting for the snow to come then taking it out.

I’m in the “Lovely frame and fork” camp on this one. So much I’m having it. Well, my lad is as a year of riding the lanes and tracks around here on his full sus is wearing a bit thin.
Will make a lovely winter SS bike..
Work (keyworker) means I’m heading down the M4 anyway so some cunning timing and I dont think I’m breaching anything…

I worked in Broadmoor once. They would move groups of inmates from building to building, sounding an alert so contractors like me could get out of the way.
You’d see the group all walking along with Guards, eitherside.
Sutcliffe had a strange habit of refusing to walk with all the other inmates. He’d stride a few feet ahead of them, stop and wait to be overtaken by the group then stride ahead again and repeat. The guards told me he’d always refused to walk with the others
He was a spooking looking bloke indeed, even before I knew who he was..

Same as Nickjb. Try and embrace the freedom it offers. Suns out today so I wont work as hard, raining tomorrow, I’ll put some extra hours in.

And get a dog, or two.

Maybe the employer should think about why it provided such a product if it sets their fire alarm off ? Did they provide the air freshener ?

Sums up my week. Everyone here seems to be cracking on like there is no covid. Parties, days out, visiting friends like it’s 2019.
At work I’m responsible for creating “covid secure” offices, so it’s very much in the forefront of my mind.
I feel like the most antisocial, grumpy old git as apparently not inviting people into my home is rude and I need to lighten up.

I am down south though so of course it’s all ok

Anyone any idea what happens if your Employer installs this on a work phone and you already have it on your own personal phone ? i.e. you’d be running two instances of it which will see each other as contacts ?

Thankyou, STW wisdom prevails as always.. (a god send as the HSE website is down at the moment)

Not the first of such things and probably not the last… report to HSE it is then. Small company with just said Manager in top (or not) if such things.

I usually just lurk on here but have to say I agree, its like someone describing BikeMagic when it was it its worst. IMO STW has always managed to maintain a high standard with fair and open moderation, sometimes over reacting but thats better than not giving a flying….

    Thanks All,

So how long do you reckon it takes up Llanberis path ? We’ll come down the ranger path.
