Richmond. Sadly not the one in N Yorkshire.

Used to live up in Yorkshire – various villages outside Skipton, Ripon, Harrogate, etc – but had to move to London for work. 🙁

EDIT: actually, this is good too:

If you have a crash where you hit your sunglasses hard enough to shatter them, surely not wearing them would just mean that you’d smash your face against the rock/tree/whatever? It’s not going to be pretty either way…

I actually really like it without any music. Just the sound of the bike and a bit of bird song at the start. Has an almost therapeutic feel to it.

Looks like a nice day for a ride too. 🙂

I usually watch for the cute ickle lambs – awww.

I hope you’ve been watching, then, otherwise you just missed a good one.

Had a great ride yesterday, but I passed out last night and smacked my head against a wall on the way down, so thought I’d take it easy today. 🙁

I heard he removed the reflectors and bell, then swapped the plastic pedals for some metal ones. It was barely a GT Fury by the time he’d finished.

    😉

    I reckon £2599, match the yeti sb66c

The TRC is £2,700 though – I can’t see it being cheaper than that…

This new LT Tallboy looks to be the solution to that problem, but its biggest drawback could be its (anticipated) price

Yeah, reckon it will be a touch spendy. What do we think – £2,700 frame and shock?

The qualifier was worse than the slab too

Agreed. I also think the first Twin is harder. The Slab itself is pretty daunting when you’re stood at the top of it for the first time, but it’s really not so bad once you get going.

Gutted. After all the bad luck he had last season with mechanicals, now this…

    Next race not till june

Is that right? Why the ma-hoosive gap?

Is this to wear while riding your bike?

I have a Deuter Trans Alpine. Lovely bit of kit. Available in a 32L Extra-Long version for lanky folk like myself, too, so the bag still sits nicely on your lower back.

    Two things:

    1) What smells bad?
    2) Why is he riding with a giant egg tucked under his arm?

    List some examples please?

I can only think of the Hope stuff – the new ProIIs and the new brakes.

I suppose you have the Spesh Evos, but I don’t suppose they’re really ‘better’ – just aimed at different riders to the normal models.

On a marginally more useful note, you should be able to see which parts of the Thames you can cycle alongside here: London Cycle Network map 😉

The travel adjust versions are “dual position air”. The “dual air”, as Andyl correctly states, is so called because it has separate +ve and -ve air chambers.

Worth a quick call just to make sure.

EDIT: For what it’s worth, I have dual position air Revs and don’t think I’ve ever used the travel adjust in this country. Used it a few times on really long climbs in the Alps, but otherwise haven’t found it necessary.

    Excellent. Looking forward to that.

And likely to contain considerably less “sick,” “gnarly,” and “rad” than the Atherton Project, which is A Good Thing. (Though I still enjoy watching that too.)

That does look really very nice indeed. Have you decided on the components?

God I hate stupid bike technology acronyms though. Why would anyone ‘FAST’ plastered all over their frame? It’s not a cheap supermarket special. They really should have gone for RAD: Regressive Angular Design. Or AWESOME: Anti-Wobble Extreme Suspension Ovalised Micro Extension. 🙄

My wife asks me to replace the lid every time I flush.

To replace it, not lower it? Sounds like you need to improve on your aim, if you’re destroying the seat with each visit. 😆

Evil do have some cracking headtube badges. Love this one too:

Apologies for the blurry image – it’s a teaser shot of the now scrapped Sect prototype. The badge is a pidgeon wearing a skull and riding a unicycle.

Joking aside, presumably the bike just snaps and he falls over, then gets up and high-fives his mates and shouts “stoked” and “sick” a lot? Do you have a video or follow-up pic?

Can you still get S-Works Enduros as frame only? That must be worth a look at 50% off…

EDIT: From the Spesh site, looks like it might be US-only now: link. Pity.

I’ve said it before, but that Lucky Strike is absolutely stunning. One of the nicest user bikes on here, IMO.

talking about light reviews. Matt and STW had one of my lights now for nearly two years and said they would review it
but never got a word said.

Maybe they don’t cost enough? 😉

No overseas bidders? Yeah, you wouldn’t want to get scammed or anything…

    +1 CFH and Clubber.

Doing something like that is in principle a good idea. The reality is that the willfully disruptive attitude of many just angers people – noncyclists and other cyclists alike – and is counterproductive.

    Shame really.

RS Reba, 100mm, probably very badly setup.

Get the fork set up properly?

Also, serious question, I assume you have checked to see if the brake pads are rubbing slightly?

Depends what bike you already have, what kind of riding you do (and want to do), and whether you want something similar as an upgrade or something completely different. You might want a XC hardtail, a FS trail bike, something with a bit more travel, even a CX or road bike to give you another option in the shed.

You could even buy one with a good spec to use as a donor bike and switch all the components across to your old frame?

    ashfanman

It’s only a photo, but nothing looks too far off to me. Have you got a link?

I put a link in the original post.

    Interesting chain position.

It seems they mirrored the photo – the ‘Kenda’ logos on the tyres are in reverse.

its equipped with “strap on pedals” !!!

Yes, the description is pretty amusing. The geo chart is also next to useless:

I’m sure it’s not going to be brilliant – it is only £250 after all – but the quality didn’t look too bad considering the price so I thought I’d see whether people more knowledgeable in road bikes could see anything obviously wrong with it.
