Cheers crell, I’ve only got them as the steerer on my pikes wasn’t long enough. I’ll see how they go and decide then.

A lot of cutting and a hairdryer was very useful, I quite enjoyed using the hairdryer as I’ve had no practise on my own hair for the best part of 15 years.

    Good luck prezet

Prezet I taped with the aforementioned tape from Bike tart

Top tube and through and around gusset under saddle
    Chainstays and seatstays
Downtube (yes I did cover up the bottle cage bolt holes and yes I did make sure to ensure the drain hole at the bottom bracket had a hole in it)

I’m just about to put some tape on the seattube I do intend putting a length of inner tube on the chainstay from experience I’d recommend this.

Bruneep – why get so worked up over this if no-one else is bothered about a couple of bolts and yours has been sorted what’s the problem????

If you have a 1.5 steerer what about a bottlerocket love mine and it will go up hill with a little effor – keeping me fitter.

I thin the bars were a 10mm rise can’t quite remember now

It makes no odds to me about mounting bolts I’ve covered them with Hele tape

I am thinking about 1X9 just want to see how it goes with 2×9

Had a good deal on the forks and they work perfectly well – was going to put on my set of air pikes but the steerer was too short.

I run 32:16 and never had a problem. I do tend to spin out a lot but hills are achievable without having to grind the cranks.

I think if you have to ask the question whether you should stay or go somewhere else for a new challenge you just need confirmation of what you already know. there are advantages of staying where you are but you must ensure you have a work life balance. I didn’t and spent 8 months off work with burn out and suffering from depression. I’m still taking the pills 1 1/2 years later.

    Priorities.

    Enough money to live on
    Family commitments sorted
Most of all time for you to enjoy yourself.

Think about what you want from life always to be chasing that next promotion or be happy with your lot and enjoy life.

    Hope this wasn’t too heavy.

    Good Luck

teetosugar I can’t wait to ride it just family commitments and a really busy time in work not allowing me to build it. Quality wise it’s perfect – such attention to detail. I found the Spicy too boring don’t get me wrong it’s a great bike just too much bike for the UK. Plus I do have a bottlerocket to go and play on that always puts a smile on my face when i ride it.

This is what I gave up to get this frame – still have the parts

Teetosugars I sold my Spicy to buy one of these

have some CK pewter hubs with 819’s and 2.2 RQ ust’s
XO red shifters and rear mech
    XTR chainring
    Saint 810 brakes
Renthal stem and renthal 750 Fatbars
    SLX front mech
    Hope BB and headset

Just need the time to build it.

Don’t tell me that’s an XL frame. How tall are you 7 foot 10

I hankered after a sovereign for a while too until I made the decision and got rid of my Spicy, now I’m in the process of building her up with all the bits off my Spicy and a set of pikes I had in the shed. Couldn’t really justify the Spicy and a Bottlerocket. Especially when the BR makes me giggle so much when I ride it – the Spicy was too much for the riding in in Wales.

That new sovereign frame must be reasonably burly to tale the brace off between the top tube and the seat tube. Has anyone experience of the new model??

I was going for a black frame until I saw that yellow – what do you recon the yellow frame with red xo bits xtr 970 crank possibly black pikes and pewter ck’s with 819 rims and a renthal fatbar and renthal stem? would it work????

    ash.addy

E-mailed Richie at silverfish earlier and found out there are no changes on the frame from last year except they are producing the sovereign in a bright yellow. He said there should be pics up on their website soon.

I did notice on the Hand Job frame the welding was a little shonky (don’t kjnow if it’s a word but it sounds good)
