May sound like a stupid question – how would you adjust the headset bearings on a lefty for all?????

d45yth I don’t know whether Nicolai could fit a tapered headtube to 105 ish so I may be better off with a 1.5 at least it would be more flexible in relation to future set ups

No trailrat the space between the two fixed brackets on the lefty has a gap of 137mm
The headtube length on a Nicolai helius AC is 130mm so if Simon is right at Nicolai uk and Nicolai can shave at least 5mm off the top of the head tube I should be able fit a one for all lefty 1 1/8 steerer tube and also a spacer to take up the slack of the headset.

Thanks nicolaisam great news about the headset at least I’ve got a chance of using the carbon lefty I have. The lefty cant wait to be seen on a Nicolai. I just hope Nicolai can shave a few mm off the top of the head tube.

From what I have heard it may be possible to shave some height off the top of the headtube. therefore in the future normal forks could be used.

Do I need to go down the custom route then the frame gets very expensive, for that price there are quite a few options available. Including full builds. e.g. endorphin 140mm.

No I haven’t ridden it yet, I did buy it (it was a great deal) for a build I didn’t go ahead with. I decided to go for a Nicolai instead. I just think a 140 on a AC would ride really well. If anyone knows of an AC going S/H let me know as I can’t wait to scratch this itch.

Thinking about it a bike mechanic would be a nice little job when I retire to add to my pension.

If you can afford why not – you work hard and enjoy getting out on the bike why not indulge yourself. I’m planning to shortly buy a Knolly or Nicolai, they could get me into serious trouble but I enjoy what I do so two fingers up to those who do say all the gear…..

Depends where you want to park it pop top for a multistory or not – is it going to be your daily transport? if not I’d poss go with the hardtop and have a toilet and Shower in it.

Had the father in laws done in Welsh slate and designed / carved by a very good craftsman we paid aroung £3.5K Quality isn’t cheap.
