Met a guy on a kayaking trip on a Sunday morning, he had i his pin stripe suit, white shirt and tie as he was expecting to go to church, (he did have a cag on over the top.)

I am 65, sat here in my tracksters, nothing wrong, spend your money 💵 n cycling.

And I thought Elvis was the king? Hope the weather is good over coronation weekend, lots of biking opportunities while everyone is inside watching him get a posh hat

Used to do this as a job. Several recognised bodies, AITT, ITSSAR, RTITB, BRITOP and more, just Google them. If you have your own forklif, training can be delivered on your site, alternatively there are training centres with appropriate kit. Duration varies from 3 to 5 days. No idea on price these days but as with anything, you get what you pay for.

Don’t worry about notice periods, you can start a new job tomorrow. Theoretically your current employer could sue you for breach of contract but not a realistic outcome. When they bleat at you just total up the extra hours you’ve done which unfortunately probably equals more than your notice period.

I’ve had the work induced nervous breakdown, two months on the sick, renegotiated the whole job but still left and not looked back.

We’ve had a couple of cheap ones which lasted a couple of years, but they need looking after. Emptied and put away from frost in the winter.
Bought an expensive Hozelock version last year, so far so good, came with a multi year guarantee. Only downside so far is the instructions say not to use with a pressure washer, so borrowed back the hose reel from my daughter.

Truly admonished, perhaps missed the tense out of my story, the old fella is long since passed away. The cats in the area were largely feral rather than pets, and although he threw the odd pebble it would make the cat jump rather than injure, nothing compared to what the cats did to each other when defending their territory. I sympathise with anyone who has unwanted cat poop in their gardens, I have no sympathy for the cats which decimate the bird population every spring though.

The Old fella next door has a pocket full of pebbles and is a great shot, you should hear the yowling when he hits a feline sh*t machine.

A friend showed me a trick years ago to revitalise paint brushes, once it’s dry brushing it with a clean wire brush gets rid of most of the clogged up paint. Then clean the paint brush as you would normally.
Works for me, have some brushes that are years old and used regularly.

Corporate bullsh*t, how wonderful it is to be retired from this type of crap.

Standardisation, some hope, I need to change the BB on my newest bike (2020) for which I now need yet another bottom bracket tool, this will now sit in the toolbox with the other 4 different ones. Through axles, bought an adapter for my Thule roof carrier, the new bike needs a different size as the boost axle is longer.

Components are not as good quality as they were, my 18 year old Trek still has the original XT mech, shifters, brakes, which work fine after 18 winters, yes it’s had loads of jockey wheels, the bb is a screw in cartridge type and done at least 10 muddy winters.

Got to admit very disappointed with my newest bike (£1275 hard tail) to the point of parting with it and using the old original instead.

Over the years we’ve had a few expensive kettles which failed too soon, bought a £12 plastic one from Tesco and its lasted far longer.

We’ve had one for years, work great as a set of tongues for turning bacon in the pan, fishing poppadoms out of the fat etc. Don’t use it for tea bags though.
