Had a SAAB with same problem, pull belt as hard as possible with one hand and hold, push seat back with thumb compressing seat cushion as much as possible. This should create a couple of inches between belt and cushion, slowly release belt and hopefully it should unlock and if you keep an inch of pace between seat and both should go back together. Hope this works for you.

Never knocked other peoples doors on the off chance they would take an item and not starting now.
Same as notes on doors ” please leave packets number whatever three streets back”. Not happening.
If I can not get answer at address item goes back to sorting office. It might sound like being a pain to go and collect, but it’s safe and everyone knows where it is. Which I think is most important.

Long story short, the blew the engine and gearbox was still working, ok there maight have been wear, but it didn’t break.

Selecting 4wd or low ratio on some cars whilst moving can kill a box stone dead.
