Gorlech, best of the routes IMO,
Was a bit squirrelly on the final descent leaves over bare rock, all good fun.

    I have 195/55 r15 and use the 70.
There will be application chart on packaging, so go armed with tyre size.

Does sound like a pipe has come adrift or split.
If you don’t fancy having a look yourself, yellow pages for local garage in the “Good Garage Scheme”.
Tell them look but you want a quote before you agree to any work being carried out.

I agree with mess them about.
Caller- have you had any accidents in the last three years?
    Me- yes last week
Caller- sorry to hear that, can you tell me about the accident?
Me- certainly, I was outside tescos last week and had a bad accident
    Caller- oh dear, what happened?
Me- well I broke wind and accidentally followed through, but I don’t think tescos were at fault. Do you think I have a case against the Indian takeaway I had the previous night?

It all went quiet for a bit so I put the phone down.
They not rung me back, so don’t thinka claim is in the wind for me

Couple of mates have had it done, not happy bunnies.
First was a lad in our unit in Aldershot, said he could feel half the stitches pop when he got a bit of wind in his sails. We didn’t help taking all the “Top Shelf” mags in for him.
Second was years later in our office, said it was very uncomfortable. Didn’t pop many stitches, but we weren’t around to help.

    @ Hopk1ns,
Where did you buy your new charger from please?
Ebay only seem to do Chinese chargers.

If front end wandering, track rod ends, grab wheel at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock position and try turning wheel left and right fast TRE will knock.
If its really bad you can do reach around rock back edge of front wheel and feel movement at TRE ball joint

Yes rear shocks will affect handling. Blew a seal on my xsara (same rear beam as pug). Felt like driving a boat. The road to Afan was hilarious. Back end swings all over the place got to over correct all the time. On the up side piece of pish to change half hour a side. Make sure you change both at the same time.

I get on great with the bog standard on one saddle cost about £20.
Have you made sure yours is adjusted correctly?
Any saddle will be uncomfortable if not set up right.

Car breakers and self fitting cheapest option.
24/7 parts or google vehicle dismantlers all tested and lot cheaper than vauxhall dealers

Citroen 2cv plenty of good beetles mate of mine picked up a mint 2ltr cortina, the paintwork on the underside is better than most cars paint finishes. If you want basic old is best.
But I understand what you are saying, no modern basics being made. Must be the culture of more extras mean better car.
I’d be interested in a “Happy Shopper/Valco no nonsense” car.

Best of going to LBS and trying a few on.
All depends on head shape. Peope rave over giro hex, I find after an hour they hurt, but I can wear a met allday.

Trick I used a few times is to wipe muddy/gritty water on rotor at start of ride. This will de-glaze the pads.
Some pads overheat and glaze. Surface is hard black and shining like glass, lot less braking effect too.

If they are in the “good garage scheme ” get in touch with them.
If it’s a part of a chain, ATS/kwickfit, get in touch with head office. Might get some good will gesture.

Pull lever slowly, watch the rotor betwwen the pads, if it is being pushed by one pad before another the rotor is being deflected and could cause noise.
Lossen caliper mount bolts and move until no deflection, also check both pads move (sticking piston)

He can get out any time he likes. It’s called PVR (Premature Volentry Release)
See the pay office get them to check how much it will cost him, same as buying out of a contract.
    Never is a life sentence.
    Social life is amazing.
Basic training is harsh, but it is designed to be. There is sense in the madness, tell him never to volenteer for anything, he’ll love it.
