    I’m a Business Analyst and I don’t have a fancy laptop :-(

Whomever said that mostly good BA’s are contractors, and poor ones permanent, I’ve found the opposite. The worst one’s I’ve worked with were all contractors.

Does anyone remember them handing out crates of the stuff for free back in the day at Mountain Mayhem, Sandwell Park?

I did Red Bull Time Laps at the weekend just gone. Couldn’t move for the free red bull. Fridges, stands etc everywhere. Having said that, at 1am in the morning when you have to ride 24 miles at race pace, it becomes quite attractive!

In Brussels, there is a very good musical instrument museum. Also the comic book museum was great (and im not even a comic fan).

The old square is nice, and lots of really good cafes there too. Finally, the big city park is also nice if the weathers good.

Eat a lot of pastries. They’re fantastic.

    Thought about a dynamo stumpy?

I’ve got a dynamo on my commuter / light off roader and its fantastic. The beam shape doesn’t blind drivers, the lights are always on (with a daylight mode / off button), and they’re plenty bright.

FWIW, i Use a B&M IQ-X, but there are brighter lights out there if needs be.

Should also say, you may need to adjust the B screw pending cassette / rear mech choice.

If you’re going friction rather than indexed bar end shifter, anything works with anything, with the caveat that you might need to file away some of the shifter holder bit for more room.

I’ve used Silver Shifters AND 8 speed Shimano bar end shifters on anything from 9 speed through to 11 speed cassettes, up to 11-42 size. Both with a 9 speed deore rear mech and a 10 speed XT rear mech.

The beauty of friction is that where the cassettes aren’t any wider, and the rear mechs have loads of travel, there really are no issues.

Regards to the filing, i had to file away about 1/2 a cm of the housing bit (the bit that screws into the handlebar) to get enough range with the 10speed XT mech.

I recently got the Princess and the Dragon expansion. It adds an interesting twist, but I wouldn’t want to use it every game.

    Pros :
The wooden dragon is just lovely
The ‘princess’ rules are good and make a nice addition

    Cons :
Not sure what volcanos have to do with it

Also, now that you’ve got the game, its time to look at personalised meeples!

Has it stayed tight? I wouldn’t have thought the tightness alone would be a factor on it working loose*?

*I have no idea. My Race Face Cinch Cranks are definitely not at 50nm, and they’ve been fine….

I love 1x, never getting a 2x bike again. With a proper setup you don’t miss anything. running 40t chainring and 42 cassette for CX duties, has plenty of gusto for the flat / road, and a better than 1:1 ratio for the ups. Not found anything I can’t climb on the South Downs yet…

I’m firmly in the camp of don’t buy a road bike though. Don’t know why anyone would restrict themselves to just a tarmac network just to go 1mph quicker.

With a tyre like the WTB Byway or the GravelKing SK, we really do live in a do it all world.
