well i ended up getting off at dundee, was cycling with girlfriend so didnt want to go too far, then cycled through tentsmuir forest and found a nice bit of singletrack in there! then just to St. Andrews, stopped for lunch on the beach and it was so nice and sunny we just stayed there most of the day! Was a fantastic day :D… mountain biking, in the sun, beautiful girl, picnic on the beach, bottle of wine, what else do you need?

If your bothered about tax, just whip off the box and bring it back without it, then you took it with you and bought it in the uk. ;)

Oo sounds promising! After a bit hunt on google it seems it’s quite a historic town, unesco world heritage site for the old town in the centre, pretty cool!

Do you think it’s a problem I don’t like beer? Ha

So what about biking? Anyone taken a bike there?
Iolo – fancy asking the tourist information man where the nearest decent ski resort is? Thanks ;) quite a trip just to see the doc?

+1 for the walna scar road, I think it is one of my favourite descents in the uk!!

Dine most of the passes in the lakes and we did the loop around great gable which includes honister pass (we took road up and off road down), the pass that goes over haystacks that I can’t remember the name of, black sail pass and then sty head which I must say was bloody excellent! Very difficult hike a bike up ost of it but the descents were too good!!! That was anti clockwise btw

Did a loop taking in garburn, nan bield and gatesgarth pass which was also very good!! That was also anti clockwise

Dirt biker? Is that because there has been so many recommendations from here an awesome network of trails has developed from everyone exploring it haha!

i found it a big crap and tedious same shots all the way through, and whats with the total over the top tyre on soil or bike noise played over every shot?

    geoff – correct
    dendennis – correct

i realise my comment at the end maybe a bit confusing since there are 6 different cities to guess here, i meant that if number two is in scotland then there are only 6 cities to chose from

i read the whole thread through and the more i read the more it seemed you were all over reacting, the photos that you have provided people who do not know the forest personally suggest a trail that is not to distant from a usual forest trail, hence your rants and complaints seem over the top and seemingly pathetic. I agree there needs to be some work done, but nothing to the extent you are all winging about. it seems like because the culprits are students you feel you can have a go even more than usual because students are always in the wrong.

hmmm i see, this is how you’re going to play the game is it, perhaps some rephrasing is in need….
who on the STW forum is from France?

    AnyExcuseToRide

imo a lot of the photos you have taken of the trails look fairly pathetic and what i would call i woodland trail anyway, some muddy areas in a pine forest after some rain? flippin heck i would never have guessed!
I agree there seems to be some post race work needing to be done it sounds like your being a bit pathetic and just looking to have a go at some students because they are students!

i currently have a set of f100s so was wondering whether to keep those or get some talas, i have a demo 7 you see and want a trail bike/xc bike but didnt want to go for the 575 as it seemed daft as its only an inch differnce from the demo and i cant afford all three

dh bike and a dj bike fit in the back of a classic mini at the same time, it will fit…

    AnyExcuseToRide

i fit my spesh demo 7 with only wheels off in the back of my classic mini (across the back seats, which had been taken out), that car only measures 4ft across, so yeah no problem!

this is what has inspired me to do it… anyone seen the reset films film called find? the guy on there who does that 7 stanes challenge!
hmmm whw seemingly would be nuts!

    AnyExcuseToRide
    Free Member

i think the whwx2 challenge is a gooden! will need to source some kind of trail bike then as i have carbon ht a dj bike or a dh bike i dont imagine any of those will be ideal. im sure we could fit in some kind of silliness in that also garry.
is it actually doable though if so far people have only managed 40 hours?! il look into it…

    AnyExcuseToRide
    Free Member

that is mightely exciting attempting to be the first to do that in 24hrs, what did the guy who claimed to have done it on here do it in? as 40 hours down to 24hrs seems pretty extreme!
    good shout mind

what sort of time have people managed to do the WHWx2 in so far? isnt half of it a bit shoite and unrideable? or not?
