Rothbury – famous for the Raul Moat three day water pipe stake out a few years back

I would suggest coquetdale and Ingram valley (linhope spout at the top of Ingram valley). Grandparents used to farm in both those valleys for years and spent a lot of time up there, fantastic landscape and probably the most remote you can get in England.

i would also say walk from craster to dunstandborough is great, get yourself some skippers at craster?

Chillingworth castle is great and if you go to Alnwick castle you have the gardens with a great entrance building and then also the huge tree house which is worth a look!

Fish and Chips in seahouses or bamburgh, bamburgh castle is probably most impressive I think, especially with the way it sits on its huge podium of rock.

Mcj78 – where exactly is the property? If you are not willing to disclose on open forum then send me and email willgibson28 at gmail dot com.
I would be interested to look into it a bit further just out of personal interest regarding greenbelt and planning and also maybe I can help a little. I’m an architecture student (also worked a few years in offices) and been doing a few planning apps recently in England.

Just posting here to remind myself to write a proper reply later! Got plenty of info for you as I loved there for a gear and it was the best mountain biking of my life,I know a lot of people over there still abfsome guides. Dont worry about the access law, everyone rides still and its more to do with the national parks.

Like this since I got it back from the repair, as soon as I switched it on. At that point everything from before the gpu died (reason for repair) was still installed.

Reformatting hard drive and installing new osx meaning no third party apps installed gave same results

With regard to indexingy I read that it might be that however dismissed it thinking it would not need to do it (to the same extent) as I had formatted it before the Yosemite lean install. I have a 500gb hdd just fyi.

So you think indexing is the culprit despite the reformatting? Could someone possibly just explain briefly what indexing is/what it is doing?

haha thanks for your concern but the issue is that it would have taken me about 10mins just to get a screen grab and upload it to photobucket via the laptop in question because of all the things I just described so yeh, old skool screen grab.

I followed the guide described on the osxdaily site and did as you have also described. One thing was the drive was 300/500gb full however only took about 1min to format which I found odd since the 8gb usb drive I used for the osx installer took about 10min to format?

The problems I experienced are basically as described in this post

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5474543¨

Mac is currently installing lion from internet recovery with 13min left to go. Reformatted the disc again before doing this to get rid of any of the failed yosemite installation

The cruise is one in Norway but I’ve forgotten the name, I’ve seen ads for it. Pretty sure it’s not the hurtigruten though

To your second question then I recommend lofoten islands again!

I love in Trondheim in Norway and have seen them quite a few times from the city. Have spent about 3 weeks around bødo in the north of Norway and saw them almost every night. Friends that have travelled north to places like tromso and the lofoten islands have all said they saw them on their trips. It is totally by chance if you see them of course. I would recommend a trip to the lofoten islands as it is absolutely stunning, only downside is the cost, Norway being rather expensive.

Nice! It is certainly a useful map as it is for Norway anyway, basically every ride that I have met here has said to me, ‘oh, do you know this map? You need this map for riding here’.

Send me an email, we should get together for a ride sometime, me and some other guys managed to get out for a ride both days this weekend as enough snow/ice has melted now! (and of course we used your map)

I didn’t post this before as as far as I was aware it was only for the Trondheim area (where I live) but ibjave just been using it today for the first time this year and it as seems it covers all of Norway now! Could be useful for you.

Shame to have my suspicions confirmed as walna scar road east side was my favourite descent in the lakes before they flattened it.

Hmmm now what ismy favourite now….? That’s a hard question!

As far as I’m aware these days it’s a wheelchair motorway track, got resurfaced a couple of years ago.

I know that this was the case for the west side of the hill for definite around 8 years ago but couldn’t comment in current conditions, maybe the erosion has got the better of it and its a blast to ride down that side now (we rode up that side and it was bloody steep). As for the east side I thought it had the same fate only a few years ago?

Oh and my opinions, I am all for a bike park that is actually challenging and with some difficult features and great big jumps since any other trail centre in this country seems to be rather tame in that respect, so good on your if your plan is to create something of that nature. On the other hand the name is terrible and I might enjoy it if I was still 9 and read the Beano.

I must say I don’t think you have done yourself many favours with your response on the previous page. It feels like you are just coming across as a bit arrogant and forceful.

There is a new bike park on the cards and what? We are not allowed to speculate and compare it to other places? Alright sorry, we will keep our mouths closed.

Good luck with the project but just be careful not to get too one minded and not be able to take criticism, be it constructive or negative, about your project, I don’t think you will win any extra support like that.

Mac. Mojo is immense, I was a serial bike changer until this one and not even tempted by the 27.5 craze because of my love for this one!

I am an architect/student so the best thing I would recommend in Bodo is to visit the new library/symphony hall that has just opened, it is by a London based architect and it is a fantastic building.

I would otherwise recommend a walk/ride up to a small hill called Keiservarden (just to the NE of the city) for a fantastic view back over the city. Or (never went to it myself, but saw it from across the harbour and could be interesting) a little walk around to Nyholmen could be worth a look, it is an old fortress of some sort.

Or if you have enough time and are feeling adventurous you could go visit the cabin we built up at Heggmoen. You are allowed to stay in this overnight and on the river is a rather nice spot!

Nice cheesy overexposed image of us from the local paper, you can even spot me striking a pose (on the left in black with the wellies on!)

Or you could take the boat out to Fleinvær where we built a public sauna which you could have a go in! The islands are rather nice too with some great views!

As for maps, I don’t have a specific trail man for Lofoten however this is a great OS equivalent for Norway.

    Norgeskart – Norwegian maps

There is also a phone app for that which allows you to download areas and use them offline! Very useful.

I see your reference to Hans Rey meaning maybe you already saw it but there is a video of him and some other dude riding there.

Also link in my profile to my blog which has some riding around Bødo which is not far away.

Haha yes rusty That was a fantastic ride, got to be one of the best I have ever done, I would definitely recommend riding in Norway.

Swinley was probably the highlight simply because it was so great to see my mate back on his bike after so long!

Usually can just do it as bachelors degree, student loan etc. However I would recommend going to study in Norway, totally free tuition, many masters courses taught in English (a lot!), amazing country, great way of life . It is where I currently am doing my masters in architecture. Many other countries are way cheaper too, I studied in France too and that was €500 a year for my masters, must point out that student finance UK won’t give you any money for studying abroad.

Or another point is try do an Erasmus year if she studies in the UK for her master’s, you get a whole load of money for doing that too, I’ve received around £3k Grant just for studying abroad with Erasmus!

    Two questions on these guys.

    1. Few people have mentioned long waiting times, is that because you ordered ages ago? Or is it still currently the case, just if I look on the website now it only says that there is a waiting period for the size large, or have you all ordered large? If I were to order a Med and it shows as currently available, how long do you think I would expect to wait for it to arrive?

    2. Can anyone give me a price in £ for the Capra Pro, once you take into account exchange rates (from banks), delivery and bank transfer fees etc. Sure I can put it into google to compare but then it doesn’t take into account the above.

    cheers

He lives in Olympic Park, I live in Wimbledon so could start from either of those places or anywhere in between, fairly flexible.

A good long day out is the idea but given the length of the day in Decemeber I guess sub 80-100miles is a good target.

Didn’t see all these recent posts but I guess you have sorted out your questions Mr Curiousyellow, it is also way far south of me, I am in Trondheim! Only advice I can offer is same as Warpcow, the whole all mans right covers a bunch of thins but one is also kind of open access rights basically, so you are good with our bike!

Peterich, I think they did a story on that place on pinkbike or something a while back, I looked on their website and couldn’t find where it was, emailed them and they said that was part of the point, we don’t tell people where we are unless you book with us….?
    So where is it?

Never done Stake Pass however have done the rest, assuming you are meaning the route up from Seathwaite to Sty Head and Esk Hause and back down Rossett Pike, then I have done all that.

Going up to Sty Head and Esk Hause will be probably 80% hike a bike and the descent down from Esk Hause to Angle Tarn is a bit poop, is mostly man made steps as the trail has been properly remade with those (you know what I mean? you get them all over the national parks more popular paths). Then down from Rossett Pike has a good section which is not rideable (I would also rate myself quite capable without sounding too big-headed) it was just a bit too technical and awkward and I was using a sort of DH bike (180mm travel), the bottom half was alright but nothing special, this was a couple years ago so maybe it has changed by now…?

If anything I would maybe recommend doing it the other way around? because I think the section from Esk Hause to Sty Head would be pretty good, however the bit down from Sty Head to Seathwaite is again that sort of surfaced cobbled type path.
