no. i always have bent arms when on the bike. It feels like my shoulders are a bit forwards when on the bike tbh.

Shoulders are in the same position as when i’m on the mtb too.

I CBA’d because it was windy and wet.

So i went down to a bike shop and looked at road bikes i can’t afford.

Merlin are renowned for their quality wheelbuilds.

That’s all i’ll say. Then again, last time i bought custom builds, it was from merlin and that was over 2 years ago as they’ve lasted that long without a true or rebuild.

Yeah. Went out on the roady in my summer gear (As it’s all i’ve got.. :/) only did 36 miles as i was riding like a sack of potatoes, and it got really quite cold tbh. Started off at 18degrees in the sun, down to probably 12 degrees and raining, then back to about 16 deg in the sun again. Also, there was a massive headwind back from my furthest point, so i was riding slow too.

Still, got home and there was steak and wine waiting for me. Sweet.

I always lock the bike in the car when i leave it, but to the clips that hold the backs of the rear seats up through the frame, wheels and fork.

Never thought of putting it through the door handles, but still they’re easier to cut than the metal brackets.

i got that when getting back on the road bike after a winter off it. (Now i’m riding more road, it’s gone away)

I put it down to losing the muscle shape of my lower back, and having to re-adapt to being more stretched.

Yes, it is a problem because motorbikes will absolutely trash the tracks and especially the hardpack.

If you’re not sure, then what i’d do is get the bike in the stand and undo all the pivots.

Take a note of the bearing sizes (It’ll state a bearing code i.e. 6032 2RS) and then order the bearings from somewhere like bearingboys.co.uk.

Been using the same bike shop for the last 8 years.

I now get a standard 15pc discount on anything, and a larger discount on new bikes. For instance, i bought a brand new road bike, £45 cheaper than a 2nd hand one that sold on ebay on the same day, in the same size. I never ask for discount, just get it.

They can always (Well, 90pc of the time) beat internets prices, and will often do work for free. I’ve also got use of their workshop if needed which is nice.

Let us know what oil you do use, and what the results were. I’m looking for some for my crossmax SX wheelset.

full service, or just the air seal maintenance?

I’ve got a pack of the seals, minus the float fluid pillow pack in my garage. Ended up using the float fluid last weekend.

    you’ll be fine.

I commuted 17 miles each way 5 times a week for a couple of months until i quit my last job. Sure, you feel it the first couple of days, especially after a busy day, but you soon get used to it again.

Within a couple of weeks you’ll be fine. It’s not like you’ve been totally off the bike.

Then again, my commute to work is 3 miles in, 15 miles home. (go the long way home)

I had my hub apart to check for creaking, and there was some sort of thin oil inside the feehub. I thought it was water originally because of the riding i did last week, but no, it was mineral oil (I think) a few drops of that in the freehub and it should be reet

They;re new, they’re going to have problems.

That’s why i’m not going to get one until next year when they’ve ironed out the teething problems.

I’d try to stay away from Ryanair on principle, as i cannot stand the trumpet fanfare which celebrates another flight without crashing or people dying when you land. I use this case when flying with work, as it’s small enough for easyjet and ryan air.

    http://www.johnlewis.com/205693/Product.aspx

But yeh, use skyscanner.net and you’ll possibly find other flights that are nearly as cheap (Then go direct to the company)

No-where, may go for a bit of a spin later on dependant on the weather.

Fort William World Cup is on at 1, so gonna sit down and watch that instead.

The lower Maestro link on my Reign snapped. Giant argued that the link was a ‘part’, and not part of the frame. I argued otherwise, and they agreed to replace it. Still waiting to hear from the bike shop that it’s been done.

Same thing happened to mine. Sounds strange that, not wanting to warranty part of the frame. Still, it could just be a poor bit of communication from your bike shop. I had a 4 day turnaround. My link was in on the friday, (Went the bike shop about it on the mon, and the warranty part was there on the fri) but got it fitted on the sat.
