coil shocks perform better than air, but the tradeoff is the weight.

What riding do you do? If you use lockout on the shock a lot, then i’d keep with an air with lockout. If you never use it, then just get the coil.

BTW, get a BOS or a CCDB. For the same price-ish new, they’re muccchhh better than a dhx5

tbf, they’re pointless. the chin guard isn’t (and doesn’t) stand up to a crash.

3 pages of chip talk, and no one has said this yet..

Thought the topic title was going to be about something totally different!

imo, tubeless on road wheels isn’t worth it.

btw, why not a set of mavic kysriums?

    Yep, me too.

got taken to hospital from a ride 12 days ago, and just got released from hospital.

Managed to fracture 3 vertibrae in my middle back and crack my left hip socket.

6 weeks off my feet, and i’ve got to wear a stupid metal brace to keep my back together. Just had to cancel my week away with Trail Addiction because of this.

Was lovely yesterday. Got some crisp sunburn tan lines when out. I too went on the roady, and also bought another road bike!

nah, can’t have bacon and sausage sandwich. egg’n bacon, or sausage’n egg, but not the two meats together, surely….

    Yeh you can..

Just make sure one half is only bacon, one half is sausage.

So did you speak to them to explain?

Sounds like you didn’t, you just went straight for a bitch on the internet.

TBH, give me an amezzin smoked bacon sandwich on good bread over cake any day.

Even better if there are quality sausages with it too.

Hmm, why don’t you get some molgrips on it to try to extract the bolt? Once the tension is off it, it should come out fairly easily, as long as the bolt didn’t snap flush to the end of the axle.

    How cheap do you want?

Get a bin bag and cut a hole for your head, and two holes for your arms.

Got a bottle of those tabs a couple of weeks ago. They taste nice (The citrus ones) but IMO they made me get cramp! The only times i’ve gotten cramp whilst riding, was when i was using these.

I’m going to use the rest of them up, and i don’t think i’ll buy again. Going to go back to just drinking water. I MAY try Nuun to see what they’re like. For a couple of quid, they’re cheap enough to throw away if i didn’t like them. Or, i’ll feed them to the seaguls :D

    bought this from here

    http://www.fatbirds.co.uk/detail.asp/sku=mad-PRS100340/Pro_3-15_Nm_torque_wrench_set

Good piece of kit. Not pricey either.

Bit smaller than i thought though.

    i don’t go anywhere near 40nm.

I go to hand tight then i put a little tiny bit of weight on it to turn the lockring about 1/8th turn

I only use a 6 inch long cassette lock ring tool anyway.

BTW, the lockring is toothed, so it won’t come undone, even with the thin anti bond washer between the two surfaces.

Why use bolts when you can use araldite?

    Lighter, and probably stronger.

    Flamethrower.. End of..

But yeh, serious point, whatever you take, just be careful you don’t get caught by the police or get people worried by you weilding it.. It’ll be classed as an offensive weapon.

    noononononoooonoonono,

Short socks, the ones that come up like, 2″ from your shoe, just covering the ankle. That’s how i roll.

I have to say, i do like that.

But i had a commencal and it failed so many times, with virtually no backup with the warranty, so with that, i’m never going back to Commencal.

loosen off the shoes a little.

I got that and ever since i loosened off the toe and midfoot strap and got some decent cycling socks, my feet have never felt any pins and needles.

My shoes are fairly loose, but the ratchet is kept quite tight.

Still, i only work from home if site is closed for some reason or if i have to work late and site is shut.

Really? 105psi rear 110psi front for me!

But yeh, i’d run about 90psi front and rear for extra bump absorption.

Make sure you’re wearing roady clothes too. It’ll keep you cool and chafe free.

surely, mixing different weight oils won’t work..

Call me stupid, but wouldn’t the two different weight oils just sit on top of each other, and not mix well?

Unless you got them to magically mix together properly?

Put tubes in them, theyll be fine.

Run them tubeless without a rim strip and they won’t inflate.
