Those racks are on the new ones, and cost £500 as an extra and are apparently rubbish.

TBH, i hate saying this, but on a 1.2 corsa, you’re best getting a rear mounted rack. A roof rack will act as a parachute, and it’ll take ages to get going when accelerating. It will, however, be more secure.

Something like a Saris Bones would be fine. Just check the straps every say, hour of driving that they haven’t come loose. The amount of times i’ve seen bike racks fully loaded hanging off the car (with straps loose or just dangling) is shocking.

Never see Orange 5s around here. There are less gullable people who believe the marketing gumph and buy one. Most decide that they’re rubbish to ride, and therefore get something decent like a santa cruz/intense. Looooads of my mates run nomads/blur LTs/specialneedz bikes

I’m quite selfish about the weather atm.. Therefore i’m extatic that the weather hasn’t been brilliant.

Injured on the first weekend of July, not able to ride until september. The more it rains, the more i’m happy as it means i’m missing less and less riding time.

Personally, i’d stay awa from Fox forks until they sort out the stantion wear and bushing slop issues that ALL the forks come with. (I’m currently running 36Vans)

    Rockshox forks just feel… Better.

You can ride there, just get in contact with farmer jack first and ask his permission.

He will also sort out a full days uplift for £250.

I broke my hip 5 weeks ago, and i’m 24!

BTW, when i say hip, i mean hip socket. Not the most fun of fractures, but he’ll be fine. Doubt he’ll get full motability back, maybe about 90pc, which is plenty enough.

hang on a minute – you’re kicking off about the shop owner being abusive to kids, infront of you and your kid, but if he’d have go physical you would have abused him in front of your own son???

    Warped logic there my friend

    Like father like son isnet!

I believe that it’s probably too late, Bets on whether his son is in jail before the age of 21!

Stay clear of GT85, it leaves residue which you do not want in your forks.

Isopropyl alohol is the Tuners cleaner of choice. Never been able to find any anywhere begore though.

    What? Pulls to the left?

Is the stem straight? Are you sat wierdly on the bike? Are your forks twisted?

Never heard of that before, very odd.

    IMO, just get x9.

If you trash the mech, an x9 mech is about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of x0. Don’t bother with XX unless your house is made out of gold.

By the time you get to x-9, you’re paying major money for only very small improvements.

Had a baked potato with crayfish topping with some salad and a side of chips.

All washed down with a pint of guinness!

Gotta love sunny lunches at the pub.

we normally ride 2 abreast on the road as it’s safer. Never had a nearly moment when 2 abreast, but had many when i’ve been out on my own.

This is where i think.. I could get me one of these, but in reality i probably wouldn’t use it as CRC are generally more expensive than many other places even with £10 off.

Thanks for the offer, i think i’ll let the vultures grab them instead :P

Robert Millar a scot, won the king of the mountains jersey a few years back.

Then ITV4 are lying buggers! They said that no-one has won a jersey from GB

By win, i mean hold it at the end of the tour.

to be fair, this stage is only a short stage (less than half the distance of some of the previous stages), so even if there is a breakaway, on such a flat stage as this, more than 1 minute over cadel would be hard to attain, especially as cadel is a machine on the flat.

As for watching.. The one jersey that isn’t guaranteed is the Green. Cav could get it, Cad may lose it.. It’s worth watching it just to see whether a british rider is able to get a jersey for the first time!

The bikes are nigh on identical.

The Fox’s aren’t worth the extra IMO.

Sure, they all look similar, but look in detail they’re all different. Suspension pivot locations are ALL in different places.

Therefore they’ll all be totally different to ride.

    yep.

I use TVcatchup as i don’t have a TV. Unluckily (or is it luckily) I’ve been off work sick for the last 3 weeks, so i’ve watched every single stage of the tour so far :D

I’ve never gotten scared when descending, not even when i was tucked at 50mph. I even tried to spin to go faster but my legs wouldn’t go fast enough.

i tend to drop my arms a bit, and if it gets too steep, i stand up and spin smoothly. The smoother you are, the less likely the power you’re putting through the pedals is to make you pop a sick wheely.

TBH, it means you can run whatever forks you want. Just get the correct step down fittings. 9 times out of 10, you’re going to keep the forks that come on the bike, otherwise you’ll be getting the custom build route which will come frame only with the step down adapters.

As for them masking the bearing surfaces, you’ve got to take some responsibility for that. I’d never drop off a frame to get painted without myself masking what i don’t want them to paint.

NDT tech working on nuclear power stations earn £2k per week. I worked for an NDT company, and the people that i was working with were getting £13 per hour, but were doing 60 hour weeks (As was I)

Only problem is finding somewhere to get experience for your certs. Start with MPI, work through to UT level II, Level 3s get more. Possibly look at getting a RAD ticket.

It can, however be a boring job in poor conditions. Interesting though.
