I normally do 30 mins on the turbo.

30 mins of zone 2 work, then do as many 30second all outs in top gear seperated by 15 seconds that i can.

Then an easy 5 min warm down.

I wouldn’t want to ride through something that is deeper than hub depth.

Reeeealy don’t want to have to strip down the hubs to make sure that they’re dry inside.

The hardest part is the first 5 minutes of a ride.

As soon as you’re wet but warm, you don’t care. I went on a ride yesterday where the heavens were well and truly open when i left the house. Awesome ride (and also it turned into gorgeous weather).

I ordered items at 10pm Monday. They were at my doorstep at 9am Wednesday.

    Great service.

If you’re a proper physicists, mathematician or Engineer, you’d have let a computer do all that maths for you..

Sitting there doing derivations is less cost effective than letting a computer do it.

    Cost saving tip #1.

Never go into a supermarket. Do your shopping online. It stops those ‘oo, look at them they’re cheap’ purchases on things you don’t actually need. Sure, you pay £5 delivery, but in honesty, you’ll be paying half that to go the shops anyway.

    And take butties to work.

    I’m an ‘engineer’. [how non-descript!]

I basically price and deliver additional works on top of our contracted scope which is the main profit maker for the company i work for.

Fairly boring when there’s not much on.

I personally think the welsh should pay for prescriptions, and there should be a charge for lifestyle treatments i.e. gastric bands should not be covered.

Lovely weather for me today.. Really windy still, and had to dig out my endura stealth for the first time this season.

Still recovering from my injury in the summer, so did 14mi around my local. Ace fun!

You’re paying for a quality frame. Better to have a good frame and a lesser groupset than a top end groupset and a shoot frame.

Go to a shop, and don’t get a new carbon bike for a grand. Get an ally frame as you’ll be able to get a much better groupset. i.e. ultegra instead of 105. and slightly better wheels.

If you catch the bug, you’ll end up upgrading the whole bike at some point anyway.

I’ve had nothing but great service from Tredz.

Bought a bike and a few other things from them, all fast delivery and all came well packaged.

tbh, it’s the air pressure (or spring weight) that is the extending force. If you’re heavier you run a higher pressure.

If you set the rebound adjuster at half open, the speed of the oil rushing through the rebound valve will differ with different pressures, therefore needing to adjust the rebound to slow or speed up the oil flow to match the spring force.

I got 3 of these over the past few weeks.

one cheque for 2010-2011, one cheque for 2009-2010, and a bit larger cheque for 2005-2006.

I did wonder, why did it take so long for them to refund my overpayment in 2005/6?

To be fair though, it’s money i didn’t expect, so bonus!

I’d rather not get an orange, they’re far too common and sound like a filing cabinet falling down a set of stairs when ridden.

Scott Genius – Pull shock, really?

Trek remedy 9.7 – Great bike, well specced

Giant Anthem X SL0 – Exceptionally light, stiff, carbonium.

Out of the lot, i’d have a go on the remedy and the anthem. But i’m surprised that you’re comparing a remedy to an anthem. Surely comparing a trance and a remedy is a more fair comparison? But yeh, for XC, there is only one choice, that’s the anthem. Fantastic bike.

Kind of agree with anto – Foxy Shazam are a sight to behold live, but do wonder if the unbridled energy/spectacle of the show translates onto ‘just’ a record.

Have to say, bought their album after seeing them live, yeh, the energy in the music is much greater live, but still, great album.

    Don’t bother.

You may as well service the forks, ride on them then sell them and buy some kashima forks later on for the same wonga.

Nuclear power is very expensive.. Only as it is one of the only businesses that is actually un-insurable. It is impossible to get insurance on a neuclear power plant.

But when comparing the output of a full life power plant, its output is humongous and is relatively clean.

Currently 90pc of my rides are solo as i’m coming back from injury.

Before my injury, 90pc of my rides were in groups.

Groups are good, but i found that i’m a stronger climber than the others in the mtb group and i get really impatient.

In the road group, it’s again very social, but we have small times where we race each other and push as hard as we can, so it’s still a good training ride.

Go to the big retailers if you can (i.e. Specialized, Giant, Trek) and see what they recommend.

As for deadlifts, there’s no chance i’ll be able to do them at the gym, we don’t have the capacity! I use the gym at work, and there are only dumbells that go up to 10kg.. And no supervision at all.
