My frame uses Spirit for lugs (Pegorichie) now that’s a tubeset.

I run under 100 psi all the time and do not suffer like you. I ride my 25mm tubs at <90 through the glass strewn streets of London and have had one flat in 3 years.

Not sure how paranoia is relevant but it’s nice to be able to see the effects of the previous day on your body weight. Then again I also monitor my blood glucose 6 times a day so measuring is just a part of life.

Having seen people manualling DH/freeride bikes a good distance yesterday (and some smartarse backflipping a DH bike and landing it), I’ve come to the conclusion that my inability to manual a bike for any distance is all me, nothing to do with my bikes.

True but I was great at manuals on my BMX, I’m going to blame the bike ti can’t be me 😀

Actually they might not be the SL as they have the bar mounted poploc. None of the pikes had a steel crown, one version had an alu steerer and hollow crown, the other steel and solid.

The only issue I find is it’s hard to get the front up for drops, popping over logs and manuals.

Nothing that’s going to kill me or detract from my fun so thanks for the reality check. It was the trail bike article in the mag this month that got me thinking, and I was suprised to be at the 30lb mark.

Used it in my Nevegals on Stans and it didn’t last too long (a couple of months) before the whole tyre started to leak around the rim. Switched to Stans which is holding air much better.

I’ve got a Canyon time trial bike and it took an age to arrive because they were unable to cope with a sudden increase in demand. They kept me informed at every stage, offered me the chance to cancel and sent a very nice letter afterwards to say sorry (with a cool mini tool as a gift).

Despite the delay I was very impressed with how they handled it and it made me happy that any customer service issues would be dealt with well.

I’ve had a good think. Slow speed tech stuff even things like turning through narrow gaps and hopping over logs etc. then drops and jumps. I’ve done a couple of DH races on my hardtail a good few years ago and was fine on anything other than drops, jumps and rock gardens 🙂
