My lads eight and just got him on a specialised 13″ hardtail (26″), built it up with my spare parts etc, you should be able to get one on ebay or a new one last years model if you can find any stock.

Personal question, but how tall is he? My little girl is almost 4’6″ and was wondering when a full sized (26″) bike would be appropriate.

    Got one of these recently.

Works really well – dead easy to fit the bikes, takes less than 2 min to get it out of the garage, unfold it and fit it to the towbar.

I thought that permitted development was over 1m from the boundary. If it’s using the party wall doesn’t that require planning no matter how big it is?
Have a look at the http://www.planningportal.gov.uk

Thanks for asking the question. I’ve didn’t really know but was too scared to ask.

Will she be getting tips? I know it shouldn’t be used to make up the minimum wage but if tips are another 5 – 10% it might make it more palatable!

We’re thinking of taking our kids next season (with another couple of families) – Is there any benefit to a few sessions at a snow dome (Chill FactorE) or is it likely to put them off and rape my wallet?

Think about wrapping it in cling film. It will protect it from light rain, squashed flies, bird poop etc.

That’s the one I wanted, just not in a 52cm, so the search goes on.

OP: does your OH need both jumpers? From your original post, she was looking to buy one, but ordered the second when she realised she could get it for free.
She’s a woman – she uses the same N plus 1 principle to clothes and shoes. I can never understand why she buys multiple of the same top, sometimes even in the same colour!!

There has been many a “PSA” anounced on the site for various online offers – remember the £40 off at Decathlon and the free buff and there was an Evans one but I can’t find it, some of them were honoured, most were cancelled and monies refunded.
In fairness to the missus, she was browsing the “sale” area of the website and it turns out she has bought a few things from them previously, and she genuinely thought it was a real offer.
The email basically says that due to their technical error, they now need to cancel or charge for any orders which have been placed at £0 in error. It goes on to give us a choice of recieving a freepost returns bag, or confirmation of the date that we have posted the item back so they can update her account.
I’m sure that my missus will resolve this before we’re called before a court for judgement, it just seems a bit silly as it is now worn and tags removed (and was before the email was received).

They are suggesting that the item is paid for (not going to happen – I thought £60 was steep), or they will send a “paid for” returns bag. Unfortunately, the “do not remove tags” have already been cut off.

How much extra is the tall vehicle surcharge?
Can you not lie the bike down just for the ferry crossing, ie drop it whilst queuing to board and put it back on the carrier once you have disembarked (or is that your plan already)?

Maybe, but they may feedback a lot. Try wearing the headphones but lift them up a little so they are over the mics (small holes on top of the aids). Otherwise you can use an induction loop (may or may not have been activated on your aids) receiver which can plug into your generic MP3 player – see here http://www.deafequipment.co.uk/catalogue/189/Personal-Inductive-Listening

even my gran can service a car, so as long as you satisfy they’ve actually carried out the work then I can’t see how, even they, can screw it up.

Only needed an oil change on the missus’ car, she came back and oil was pissing out over the drive – they had cross threaded the oil filter!

Not from the chin down they can’t.

Just stop and think for a minute where that saw is when it is running and in your hands.

Yes, that’s right. Your legs and feet.
My point is that if you’re careful and lucky you can avoid limb chopage, but sawdust and the noise will eventually damage your eyes and ears no matter how careful you are.

Approx 5.5m x 10.5m, but if the costs mount up, I can leave the two open “cart sheds” with a gravel floor so would just need foundations for the dwarf walls.

Footflaps – can you remember how much that all cost – excavation, steel, concrete etc? And how big is it? I’m thinking about a 4 bay garage and wandered about groundwork costs.

I’ve got one of the Chinese specials and I’ve used it to cut tonnes of logs. New chain has made a lot of difference. However, it is no becoming a bit difficult to start and it has never been as good as my mates second hand Stihl or even my dads McCulloch.
My missus (works in A&E) insisted on PPE, but the thought of turning up at her work missing a limb has made me even more careful. Goggles / visor and ear defenders are cheap and can prevent life changing damage.

Only using one in the kitchen at the moment – don’t notice any difference to the other halogen lights.
The other 5 are halogen – would you replace them now, or wait until they pop? It seems crazy to throw away perfectly good bulbs, but they do cost a lot to run!

Anyone remember “packet of three” with Frank Skinner, Jenny Eclair and Henry Normal?
Another favourite of my late teenage years was “Nightingales” with Robert Lindsay, David Threlfall, James Ellis.

    Get a buggy board.
There’s 24 months between our kids (+/- 5 hours) and my little girl managed fine on a board – the lot also fitted in the boot of the Golf with loads of room for shopping bags.

    Contact lenses?
I just wear my lenses with normal goggles – no problems in last 20 yrs, but have been through dozens of pairs, they get lost, scratched, start leaking etc. I’d hate to spend over £50 on what is essentially a disposable item.
