I’d say Hightower as well, although mine is up for sale, injury forces me on to the ebike nowadays.

Had one since December 2020, couldn’t be happier with it.

A guy I know has had an absolute nightmare with YT and his Decoy. Been months without a bike and having to resort to bad mouthing them all over social media to get anywhere. I wouldn’t go near them on that basis

Absolutely love mine, 29er with a 130mm fork. Such a fun bike and really comfy as hardtails go. I’ll have mine for quite a while I reckon

I had the exact same problem as you a few years ago. Thought it was new bb time but after taking the cranks out noticed the nds bearing had seized in the bb and I could see the wear on the axle wear the bearing would be. That was a set of XTR cranks in the bin* :-(

I’m still using gopro studio which I’ve had for years and does everything I need it to do. I did try Davinci Resolve but it just constantly crashes.

Where did you get the frame from?

Got frame and fork from Biketart

I didn’t bother looking at full builds as I kept some stuff from my v1, main thing been the wheels. Got a deal on the new frame and fork as well.

Had mine about 6 months now. Upgraded from a V1. Can’t fault it at all and think it’s better in every way than the previous version especially when pointing downhill, feels very stable. Suspension is nice and plush. Heard a few people moan about it bottoming but can’t say I’ve had that problem. It’s a custom build so spec is my own, I’d never buy a full SC build as I think they’re poor value for money

I went from a Session 5 to a 7 black with the new stabilisation and the quality is miles better, so much so that I use it more than I ever used my 5 and the 3 plus before it as it’s so much nicer to watch back

I’d have expected a bit more innovation from SC with them taking this long get an Ebike out. Looks like a bike Pon Holdings have told them to do rather than something they wanted to do. Looks dated already

Interested in this also. My pc is getting a bit long in the tooth now and really struggles with 4k so looking to upgrade. Watched a few videos on YouTube about doing custom builds on a budget. Never built a pc but it looks fairly straightforward.

Definitely go for an xl. I’m 6’2 and rode xl. Think I swapped bearings twice on mine in 3 years. Shame you weren’t thinking this 3 month ago you could’ve bought mine. I’m now on a V2

There’s a kid on mtbr who claims to have been passed by an SC ebike last week on a trail in Santa Cruz and another saying it’s coming this Thursday

I wasn’t aware of any byelaws for the Peak District but I did have read of that on their website earlier after it was mentioned by @rone. As not all areas are owned by them you can seek permission from the land owner but due to data protection they can’t tell you who owns the land. The dji app does show restricted areas where you can’t fly like near airports and sports stadia so I assumed everywhere else was fair game, especially out in the Peak District. As for the noise the mini is pretty quiet and any passers by seemed quite interested in it rather than it being a nuisance to them

^^^ very cool. Where is that? I like the fact that the stability of the drone & the gimbal produces pretty rock solid video, I need to master “cinematic” flying though which is a LOT harder than it appears. I think the trick is to use movement on a couple of different axis so it looks dynamic (like your spiral zooming out shot which looks cool), you need a lot of practice though to make the shots look smooth & not jerky.

From what I’ve read it’s very unlikely they’ll officially support tracking or waypoints but if they release an SDK like with previous drones then 3rd party control apps will be able to implement them.

It’s on Stanage Edge. I’m totally new to them so not very good on the controls at the minute. As you say the weathers not helping at the minute so not getting much practice in. The spiral shot is one of the presets it has. Just lock on to a subject and hit go. The locking on a target thing is why people reckon active tracking is possible. It’s just whether DJI add it or keep it for the more expensive drones

Been drone curious for ages and finally bit the bullet a few weeks back when I managed to snag a Mavic Mini with 20% off in one of ebays promotions. Nice little bit of kit and fits nicely in a bag to take out on the bike. Just hope they add active tracking on a future firmware update. Here’s a rough little edit I did when I first took it out.

I’ve always bought size 10 in the past but saw the warning of them fitting small on the Adidas site so went up to 10.5 which I’m glad I did and it’s not as though I have wide feet

When you tighten everything down to remove the play if the steerings a bit tight you need to add these under the top cap so you can tighten enough to remove play but the steerings nice and free

Yes the 2019 event did sell out with a couple of hours, the year before however tickets could still be had months afterwards. Unfortunately demand far outstrips supply which can be said about most of these events.

That’ll explain the 20% increase in the entry fee then

Yeah no cups involved, bearings just sit in the headtube

I think it’s better in every way to the original but if I hadn’t had the original one that long I wouldn’t rush out and buy the new version as the original is as you say a great bike. Climbing wise theres not much in it but it’s on the descents where I’ve noticed a big difference. Much more stable and confidence inspiring and the suspension feels great.
