So it also depends on the year of the crank, earlier ones used the self extractor. The hole in the centre of the chainset is too big to screw in a crank extractor. The newer ones have a smaller hole and can use the crank extractor.

Sounds like your have striped the waterproof coating off. The jacket should only ever be washing in soap flakes / tech wash or similar. You should never use fabric softerner.

I would try washing it in one of the above and if this does not return a ability for bead water off the surface then would try washing in Nikwax Tx proofer.

Yes you can use that combo, top/ bottom pull relates to which what the cable goes either down past the saddle (top pull) or under the bb (bottom pull) The size relates to the different diameters of the seat tube the mech clamps to.

If its like the MTB HT11 setup then you do not need to over tighten the star shapped nut. Its just there to preload the bearings.

Well mine supported me up to a through Uni, matching the maximum grant you could get from the local concil. After that though I have been on my own and would never think of going begging to my parents.

Well think the young teenager whose motorbike was taken off him by a whole platoon on Frith hill on Saturday found out the hard way about property being confiscated. Lots of watch out for Evil Kaniviel bannter as we rode past.

Had the same on my stock Trance X wheels. They had the tape across thefull width of the rim. Yes they are a pain to use. I have found that they need to be pumped to at least 60 psi and then you need to pull the tyre to encourage them to pop into the grove. Enven then it can take a lot of effort.
