Quite a few posts about re that engine, seems it can get quite carboned up and then the turbo can fail due to a blockage in the oil feeder pipe

Another good source for build instructions

Its the us version but basically the same. I have 918 and 928 and I think I will track down a 924 kit to go with 929 to complete the set.

Had all 4 our under GA. Large part of my low jaw bone was removed to get out the impacted ones.
Lots a swelling and stitches holding my gums together. I Could not eat solid food for nearly 10 days and just sat dribbling into a bowl for a few days. Lost sensation in one side of my face for 6 months due the fact the roots ran very close to facial nerves and were damaged in the process.

So all in all not much fun

if you are worried about mpg then have a look at the cdti. Mine averages around 60 on motorway drives and we normally get 600 miles from a tank.

I currently have a tracker with the Woolich. Its rate is .2% above the BOE base rate. I have been over paying for the last 5 years so hopefully will clear the mortgage a lot quicker.

I hope its not a 1.6 diesel, friend of mine has just had this problem on a 55 plate. Turns out there is a big problem with the oil supply to the turbo. The supply pipe get blocked as the engine gets clogged up with carbon deposits. this causes the turbo to fail and most often requires a whole new engine as well.

    Well be prepared for:-

Drivers being 2 inches away from your bumper on the freeway at 75 mpg.

Some cities its illegal to turn left at any junction. you must turn right, do a u turn return to the junction and slowly work your way around anticlockwise until you get the right road of the junction

Always park on a road in the direction of travel

Count yourselves lucky our council will only take rubbish put out in crappy thin blue bags that they provide. They will not touch any kind of bin. The bags are very thin and all the animals have a field day ripping them apart over night. Oh we only get a limited amount of bags, 80 per year them you have to buy extra ones at sky high prices from the council.

Well I have already had one incident on the red route when A group of runners thought it would be a good idea to try and run down Labyrinth despite the all the new signs and half a dozen cyclist telling them not to. Lots of heated words at the bottom.
