One of my riding buddies has one of those (specialized skillet)
we call him names like the mature chaps we are.. we all think he looks like a Nazi tank commander wearing it.

    Good lid though

Surely you have a specific corner of you garage/shed/utility/workshop where you keep all manner of bits of wood/plastic offcuts that form ideal stirring devices.

EVERY MAN should have such corners/devices.

We all have days like this..
i have days where i wonder if i've had "i'm angry, make my day" written on my forehead.
It tends to just be how selfish those around me are.. or how lazy everybody around me seems. *then the image of a rock smashing skulls flashes through my mind*

I'm probably the least suitable person for a retail environment.. guess what sort of work i do? :P

    Just do it..
Provided you get a decent post and it still runs with plenty of insert it should be fine. Thomson? High end easton dh post ? FSA dh post?

Biggest risk is more likely to be cracked saddles and bent rails.

Be a blessing in disguise if they don't
Nearly all my flirtations with Raceface bottom brackets have been like one night stands… i.e. they aint forever.

Keep the raceface bb in your tool box as a spare and get a deore one to use in its place.

    50 quid is nowt.
Women seem to think nothing of dropping "100 its for a special event" quids once a month at least.

They still look shite covered in slush in the big market so why bother. I don't get it.

Yes, all the mud you return home with attached to your body/bike can be collected in a big pile and turned into dirt jumps in your back garden.

Was out today for my first "real" ride in over 2 months.
I've been stuck doing turbo and riding to my mates house to get drunk too much.

What a blast.. mud, punctures and a pint of Stella standing outside in the cold at a beer garden while fixing said punctures.

Surely this notion of ringing "for a quote" is slightly pointless.
Correct me if i'm wrong but are you gonna buy it anyway?
I doubt they'll charge you much differently to any other place who'd do the same build.

Anyway.. it's rude not to return calls. Even if all you do is ring back that day and explain you've yet to deal with the enquiry… at least the customer knows you have not forgotten about them or worse still can't be bothered.

    I hate places not phoning.
Garages seem to do it with cars all the time.. take friggin forever to get in touch. They should lick your ass over the phone seeing as your giving them money.

In our household we've had both Doblo (1.9jtd) and also were on our second Berlingo. We had a first gen 1.6hdi and now on our second which is the latest version with the same engine slightly more power.

The berlingo never ever let us down and was superb on long runs. Newcastle to Paris was our best run for economy and it'd happily tank along at 70 plus without much strain.

The new lingo will be out of your range price wise, they're still way too expensive really. It improves on everything that needed addressing on the first berlingo, so, the ride is better, handling better, comfort in general better. Sound proofing vastly improved.

Looks like chaos, but thats three xc bikes with wheels off..
still had 5 people in car… i don't get away enough to justify a rack.

The doblo, only issue we had with ours was clutch related as the miles piled on.. superb vehicle otherwise and the handling was awesome for something so slab sided. Used to wizz round a roundabout and the skinny tyres at the back just skitter about. Barely any turns lock to lock so it's a fun thing to drive.

Maybe its your tyres, pressure, terrain.

Whats the terrain like, do you have lots of flint where you live?

Seat post is fine, was working on the basis i did not want to cut too big a chunk off my thomson.
Easily rectified once i've settled on a riding position.

    Things to be wary of…

I went from a Kinesis Maxlight xc2 frame with a fairly short headtube.. the steerer tube is borderline… i'm using it as an excuse to get some pikes soon.

The green looks way better in real life than my ropey pictures.

Weight wise it feels like just over 30lbs, thats with 321 on hope xc and cheap cranks.

Feel free to pick fault in the scenery/photography skills – comments on the bike are welcome also.

Way more than a sane person with one mountain bike would own.
One of my riding buddies has one set of tyres on each bike for all conditions. He wonders why he's 2.1111 seconds slower than all of us..

I attempted to use some with stans. Sealant came blasting out of the release pimples on the sidewalls and that was on brand new tyres.
Might seal eventually with more patience but tubeless should be easy. I then fitted some continentals and they seated and held air even without sealant instantly.

all that remains is a trip to my friendly local bike emporium on my next day off i may feel compelled to post a snap or two of the finished article.
