Chances are it'll do everything you'd ask of it..
changing the components around would mean you got past any spec compromises it already had.

Newcastle has the same sort place..

great idea and also brings more people to the two wheeled world.

Cheap frame… poor ish finish i suppose.
There is a ridge that runs round the tube..
and 15mm insert depth sounds right.
the insert area is slightly tapered where a cup presses in.. which in turn holds bearings.

Love mine though. Excellent cheap hardtail with decent geometry

I've got a rock frame which is nearly identical to one your describing i think…

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=39377

That ought to fit.. the standard model.

Fit it with a plank and a hammer as i have many times to this frame.
    It'll be fine.

man the f up.. i.e. just go to the pub with teeth in tact.

Surely the geometry has a greater influence over the ride quality than the blingtanium quota.

    Hmm odd one.
I'm normally a 47 in anything italian yet of my 11 pairs of different styles of dm i have 12's/13's and 14's

so i suggest try some on first.
Go into Schouh and waste their time first.

They're a G width, and i usually buy them snug with a cm ahead of my longest toe.

just leave um. They'll be fine.
In our riding group we operate an "it'll be fine" policy. It's known as bareback bike maintenance between us.

Essentially if something does'nt stop the bike rolling it'll be ok.

Rag um use them as intended, only replace csu if you really really need to.

No bull, honest realistic pricing. Good phone communication.
Maybe a text when bike is ready to pick up/parts that have been ordered.

    Always carry simple everyday stuff.
Cabinet full of ready to buy bling.
I.e. always have an xt chainset in stock.
Sometimes you need to be able to buy one.

Wheel building/ or employ someone who can.

Take it easy.. i.e. walk before running and eat and sleep well. Don't over do the beer for a while.

working in a department store means i've always been tempted to ride into the building sometime.
Escalators, walk ways and slippy floors to ride over, then a carpet department with rugs for trials circus trick tomfoolery.

    hmm..
i try to dress fairly low key for the commute, i save the socks with "****" on and the kerrrrazy jerseys for rides with the lads.

I take it i'm not alone in thinking high and mighty commuter heroes are tools.

I could have lamped the bloke who decided it was a good idea to cross the road in front of a big motorbike this morning. Lad on big touring motorbike was lucky he managed to stop safely.

I was within a few feet of him for about a mile this morning.. very little regard for his safety, or anyone elses.
Just plain selfish, as bad as the crap car drivers.

if you go to the likes of the bars on mosely street and appear to have more than a tenner you'll be popular with the local slags who have ideas above humble stations.

Avoid anything orange in ill fitting shoes.

Buy it, if you don't get on with the frame flog it to me for ten pence then use the kit for another build.

Woody – its a gusset saddle. Bought it from ed cycles.

However it died a month after i got it, the rail snapped.
Shame. – back to the boring brown spoon again.

Meh i did some boss level mince when i was last in Scotland.

The lads mock me for it because they know it bugs me.

To be honest your not alone. Don't worry about 'looking cool'
