    StuE cheers for that..
i don’t expect to get much help from the guys at mc as i bought it off crc.. oh well, however, one of the bikes they take round trade shows does seem to be sporting fox kit.

i quite like riding with stuff that looks old or past it..
long as it works that is all the gratification i need.

Thanks for that Scienceofficer. Further to that i’ve had a response from mojo who say the van r is discontinued.
The RC takes over effectively. Bit miffed in a way as it’s a price hike as well for a compression adjustment i don’t really want.

right, so.. the hub which is oem crapola would cost 20 quid to change like for like, bearings will cost say 14 quid if you get them off ebay.
Just pay for it. Thats what everyone else has to do. Also, Specialized don’t hide what the warranty covers. It’s available to read online or in your local dealer.

I’d be inclined to argue that the more a person drives.. i.e. the more miles per day etc the more desensitized to speed they become, and also the danger of the task.
    And they pay less attention..
Be honest those of you who do drive fairly frequently.. do you really check your blind spot every time? your mirrors when it’s advisable to be doing so?
Course you bloody don’t. Everyone is complacent.

Bad road, complacent “professional” driver.. and rotten bloody luck for the cyclist.

ally tubes, 4 years of riding at least… and you don’t know how hard it was ridden before you had it.
Also, the 4’s were shortish travel xc bikes so cracks will surely occur eventually.

The smart half watt is a stupid design.
Anyone who rides in real “weather” will experience the water ingress problems. They’ve put the switch right in the line of fire of most back wheels.. fair enough some folks run a mudguard.. but not all of us do.

Way round it of course is just a piece of tape over the switch every time you change the batteries as it is an effective bright flasher.

What do you have to hide? Just fill it in like every other sap does.

I’ve yet to use tf. mates use them for stuff like fox shocks but, i’ve never had any great problem doing home servicing on zochi and rockshox stuff.

Working on the likes of rebas/revs is pretty straight forward and there are plenty of how to guides on the world wide weird.

I buy the cheapest sram/kmc chain i can find and run that till it no longer wants to shift.

Typically i’ll run 20 quid cassettes, 8 quid chains, 8 quid steel rings.

12 months of riding is typical for my full sus which gets ridden on weekends and riding holidays.

I don’t subscribe to the nonsense about weight, and shifting ‘crispness’ as the first bit of mud puts that out of the window anyway.

Does it count if your bike has gone out of production?

I’ve got some reasonably up to date kit hanging off a mountain cycle fury frame, but, it’s not cutting edge. It’s a simple single pivot and it could even be regarded as being slightly agricultural but i love it.

    Love is blind.

Singletrack is the only riding magazine i go near now.
I used to read Mbr etc. but as time wore on i realised i don’t really get anything in the mags i won’t get online for freeish anyway.

I’m rarely influenced by a magazine such as mbuk saying something will be rad to the power of woop, and, like to think of myself as a marketing persons nightmare…. although ultimately we’re all fools for the marketing.

So mondeo mag for mondeo man is pretty much the answer. I work with a guy who is best described as anal. He talks about riding in a very clinical way like he’s doing a review of everything in an mbr style tone of voice.
It’s amusing to me anyway. He always seems to have a copy of what mtb on his desk.

Point and shoot and trust in your bowels, essentially you’ll do some falling off finding the limits so pad up.

I’m sure folk will be along to impart Alec Guiness in Starwars style sound bites of rad wisdom.

although it depends on who built each.
A good build on 117 versus the 317 on a poor build… etc.

They're fine.. very spinny when new, so, i'd advise packing with extra grease when you receive.
