Well once you’ve built up a massively flawed dandy horse you can’t actually pedal you have no choice but to push it everywhere.

    I should know.

Suddenly sticking with the bottom of the range tyres with wire beads looks appealing.

I’ve got other stuff to pay for.
50 quid an end on mountain bike tyres is a joke for the average weekend warrior.

10 miles.. and 40 min ride.
Change every morning and shower when arriving at work. I usually end up playing the “game” every morning anyway even if i tell myself i won’t.

Theres usually something out there that people don’t know how to fix.
Brakes with new goodridge hoses that have just needed bleeding.

gears were developed for a reason were they not..

Anyway, i tried singlespeed but found that i was’nt willing to make the compromise required for my commute.
I save the s@m for the weekends.

He’s 47 is he not?… 47 tends to be the point where biological purposes are fulfilled..
    time to pork out.

Geometry is the biggest influence i would have thought.
followed by other variables like tyre pressures, and also the level of competancy of the pilot.

That amount of money would get some pikes from ebay/classifieds.

I just find windwave a pain in the arse to deal with.

Well as you’ll know already… a lot of people who ride any bike believe they look “cool” and “rad” or “aero” or some such toss.
In reality all we do is look atractive to others of the same sex because our gear cables are the right length, or the right number of stackers are below the stem.

we’re all suckers for the bike company ad mans magic.

I’m off to polish my annodised bolts.

theoretically you can space them to anywhere within the travel range if you make the spacer yourself..

Ebay is like a holding pen for tools.

I got some dx v brakes, only they arrived with half the fittings missing.

Sold as working brakes.. yet far from it.

    Bastards.

never flirted with sram, and my pals run sram.
Constantly i’m told that my sex life would improve if i had sram.

Shimano is already on the bike… it would cost more than is worth spending to change the way it “feels” to change gear.
    Sod that.

I would’nt touch anything that has to go back to windwave.
My rebound died after one day of mincing round a trail centre last summer.
    That was 44’s.
Windwave took chuffing ages to get them turned around.
    Lifes too short.

The suggestions of second hand mx comps are not that crazy.
Plenty of new old stock around if you look hard enough as well.

presumably they’ve noticed people ride with forks in two different travel settings, one for down, one for up certainly thats how my uturn gets used.
If it’s user chooseable within a set of pre defined travel settings.. it’ll be a winner.

I found pressures were massively important when using panaracer stuff in the past..

took bloody ages to get um to feel right.

    They are indeed still available.

    Depends where you ride.

    Is it thorns or glass?

From what i’ve heard crc’s new packaging actually saves money, and, is more enviromentally friendly.
but then again maybe we all offset that when we make a journey to the sorting office.

    I too have crc love..

three chains, and a ring… all neatly packed and speedily delivered.

Hopefully my new x2’s will arrive from winstanleys just as quickly.

Bit of bleak open moor riding at Ingram Valley up near Rothbury on friday, then, saturday and sunday my usual bike commute to work and back.
Today i’ve sat with a case of beer and had a day off the bike.

Where i ride it’s always packed with all the prats who never get any fresh air for the rest of the year.
