Can highly recommend the samsung. It’s only 50Hz but I can’t tell the difference. The SD picture is very good, the HD is excellent & the bluray superb, well to me anyway.

I think Panaracer Trailrakers are very good in the mud. They clear well & seem to always find grip even in the deepest mud. They are a sketchy on rounded pebble type surfaces. Not much good on wet roots , but what is. They do generally work quite well in the woods though. They drag on tarmac, but I wouldn’t change them for anything else if the ride was muddy.

They are a PITA as they don’t fit snug & can easily slip out.
If I can’t get any then the tape fix will be a good solution.

    Thanks

Olly, yes to stop it rattling & retain it in the through run cable guides. They are used on both my bikes but I have lost a couple. The Tape fix looks like a good one.

Foxrider. Its a headed tube that is split down the length that fits over the hose or outer cable & can then be used to retain the cable in the cable guides.

mon the biffy, tried the LBS, no joy.

    Thanks for your help.

I was sent some information on how much the viscosities increase with the drop in temperatures very recently. At 0°C it is about twice as much as at 20°C. It was also suggested that the fork will not get much above ambient temp because they have so much thermal inertia in them and huge surface area, so It would appear that the damping will not improve much with use.

I use Asics & have to say they are excellent compared to the old school option (which I used for many years). The arches do seem a bit prominent but I never notice them once I start playing. They fit my foot very well & have good shock absorbtion.

    Hi
I will email you a route that takes in the most usable routes in the north cotswolds. This time of year most are unusable around here.

Mate has the Sony & it is a great picture. I was very tempted when we were looking, but in the end went for a Samsung LE40C580. We are chuffed to pieces with it. The SD picture looks great, & the HD picture is excellent. The only time it has disappointed was when I was watching some indoor tennis in SD & the ball was not clear at the far side of the net. HD sport has be great & I have not had any other issued with blurring etc.

i just clicked the link a couple of post above & it is still available.
I used to play with a Black Max & it was a good racket but it is nowhere near as good as a Prince o3 Black.

I use a Prince o3 Black. It is a great racket, but I am not sure it is available anymore. I would think there is an new equivlent from prince. More tension gives you control, less tension gives you more power.

Thanks for that, I'll just get a new one. It's crazy really, we live in such a disposable world.

Would you have any GPX routes, of the areas you mention, that I could use.

Hi, I work as a mould/component designer in the plastics industry & would suggest a nylon 6 as a good choice. Its very tough & should take a self tapping screw with the correct size pilot hole. I would think you could also try other materials at the tool trials to find the most suitable material for your application (ie perhaps a glass filled nylon).

Thanks for that. It sounds like the worst I will have to do is take then off in the deepest shade.

I think perhaps the Trigger will suit me better as they are described on the Endura website as slimline. Thanks for your advice.

Are they clear enough for use in fairly dense woodland? Are they misting up only when you stop?

There is a small group of riders in Shipston. You would be welcome to tag along with us for a ride, but the riding around here is bridleways with road links. If we want to play in the woods we visit Cranham. When are you down here?

Still looks the same. I'll wait a bit before trying again.

The changes must be very small. I can't see any difference between the first & last route.

Hayes 9s just keep on working. Only problem has been a slightly sticky piston which was easily fixed.

The GT aggressor XCR has 130mm recon 351 forks.

I have a GT aggressor XCR which I think is the previous eqivilant bike. I am really enjoying it (I don't take the full susser out much now). It is a comfortable bike for a hardtail & it seems to handle well, but I am no expert. Can you not test ride the bike?

    andywill

Thanks for the advise. Hardtail it is then.

I would prefer the hardtail, which I used on the HONC. Is it comparable to the HONC (I realise there is a lot less road used on the Marin rough ride)

Can definitely recommend the Hood Arms. As Rob & Sharki say, all is good, plus you can ride from the pub & they will lock your bike up for you. Just ask for a room on the opposite side to the road if traffic bothers you (especially if your mate has to sleep with the window open)
