IIRC – you undo the 5mm Allen bolt at the top that threads into the elbow, and if the elbow is really tight you can use a 10mm spanner (on the flats) to move it (you can also use the spanner to hold the elbow in place whilst you re-tighten the 5mm Allen bolt)

The elbow isn’t fixed, it might just be really tight in there! I think they were a pretty tight interference fit to stop them moving when braking.

I had a set of HS33 race lines on my trials bike circa ‘97, and that worked for me!

Dodgy injector maybe? Is it worth doing a leak-back check?

My wife is running the “old” Sora Triple group set on her road/gravel bike.

I’ve just put the “new” sora shifters (under bar routing etc) on it and I’m impressed with them.

I picked them up for no other reason as to have the under bar cable routing……

    Cool – thanks.

I take it you’ve done this with non-finned pads?

Freeza rotors and ground Shimano 785 sintered pads.

What/where do you grind down? Edges of the backing plates? And how much?

(Got 785s on both road bikes and just building up winter SS with spyres)

Ooh – didn’t realise they were out yet? Thought it was end of the week?

What colour did you go for? Shame the gunmetal is another £20!

How is it size wise? Any pics of it on for scale (I’ll be ordering blind (online!))

Bookmarking as was just about to jump for a VA3 (as can’t stomach the Fenix 5 price!) when it’s released this week but like Jamie said, it’s very close to the AW s3……so interested in other’s opinions!

    I was watching here:

    Stock Finder

After missing out on a preorder – managed to fine one in a local Argos. Wasn’t listed online or via the Argos app as in stock tho – so quickly drove there!

All set up – it’s like being back in ‘93!

I could be tempted by the hylex set-up (dependant on condition) if you want to recoup some cost……..

the plane was a Dassault Falcon 20, and there was another anonymous Dassault Falcon doing similar things over Norfolk.

    CZ – that’s a Cobham F20 (google it)

Highly modified F20 for Electronic Warfare and ASDOT training. They can do some pretty funky stuff with the underwing pods/mission equipment.

I used to be a Flight line maintenance engineer on them (still work for Cobham but on other stuff now…..)

Now seriously considering an Arkose SS – scouring the second hand market…….

Jameso – Seeing as haven’t got the option to try for size – medium or large? Was leaning towards a medium Dolomite SS

    Thanks!

    Cheers for the reply jameso!

Hmm – that’s a shame about no Arkose SS! Thinking if a dolomite is still the way to go, but go for a skinny cx style tyre for trailway duties.

Out of interest – is the rear wheel on the dolomite a normal freehub with spacers and a single sprocket? Or a screw-on SS freewheel?

    Me again……

What’s the biggest tyre I can get in a dolomite SS?

After thinking some more (and increasing the budget!) I toyed with an Arkose SS for some trailway duties – but the 2017 is OOS! – when is the ’18 due?

So – if I can’t get an Arkose can I bulk up a dolomite with some CX tyres etc?

Cool – cheers Jameso! Think I’ll go for the ’17 version

Size wise I’m thinking Medium? I’m 5’10 (on a good day) riding 56cm specialized road bikes (diverge and roubaix) so looking at the geo charts it’s Medium – do you agree?

Slight thread hi-jack (but still Pinnacle related)

Jameso – any plans for a 2018 Dolomite SS (and if so, what changes are there to the ’17) or should I just go for the 2017 that is currently being reduced?

Need a new N+1 for my winter commute…….

    Cheers,

I don’t know how many roads they’ve done – I’ve started to avoid the area since! Ha ha!

Only time I head that way at the mo is coming back over the ferry at the end of a Purbecks/Harbour loop on the road bike.

Agree on the queues tho – timing is essential! Seen people sit in them for 2 hours waiting for the ferry – certainly nice to zip past the queue on a bike – just watch out for those drivers who swing out or open their doors cos they are bored of being stuck in the queue……..had a near miss not too long back!

Sandbanks car park will be rammed over the summer……and sadly the council have introduced parking meters on all the side roads on the peninsula this summer, so you’ll have to pay if you stay on sandbanks side wherever you park – it might be cheaper now to get the ferry over and then park for free on the studland side.

when i moved from Band 2 to Band 3 (position in a different trust) the manager at the time slotted me in at mid band 3

That’s probably as your Band 2 increment was somewhere in Band 3 already due to the overlap?

NHS doesn’t drop you to bottom of next band up – it’s a sideways slide (IME – wife is an Advanced Nurse Practioner – now Band 7 but started as newly qualified at the bottom of band 5) – she’s been qualified 11 years this year.

OP – look at the AFC bandings/increments.

NHS not the most flexible for remuneration………

I used an alligator end stop into a ferrule taken off a v-brake noodle!

Then just heatshrinked the whole lot together when under cable tension.

I know you discounted the nokon cable earlier – but I’ve got alligator I-link mini on one bike (due due to tight radius bends) and that shifts fine – but you could stiffen it up a bit by sleeving it with some heatshrink?

I’ve done that along the route of cable from shifter along bars on my roadie and it’s been fine.

Might be worth considering even for a trial fit?

Alligator kit can be a bit pricy – how much do you need?

    Holy thread resurrection!

I ended up with a specialized roubaix sl4 disc frame! Guy at work was upgrading, so ended up buying his frame from him.

Transferred all the kit from my Diverge onto it – then ended up buying another groupset to rebuild the diverge as winter/commuter bike……
