Yup! I loved mine – just changed from a 26″ wheel camber pro to a 2013 29er camber!

Only changing as I have the big wheel bug.

Really great little bike – builds up to a good weight, nice and poppy to ride, and sensibly slack for fun too!

Now have a 2011 Camber Pro frame and shock for sale if you are interested?!

What bike is it for – specialized? They use the old e-type mech with the bracket removed for their DMD set up.

I got an M665-E from bike-discount last summer – that’s the old double and bash specific cage front mech with the e-type fixing.

Well worth hunting one down! Solved all my front mech issues on my camber.

Just picked up my 29er camber today – been on a 26 camber for a while, then got a 29er carve hardtail a few weeks back and am now hooked on the big wheels!

26 camber frame to go on sale over the weekend!

To go half way – got a 33t renthal ring if anyone is interested?

Good condition – no chipped/hooked teeth.

Anodising worn off teeth (as expected through use) but probably sub 100 miles.

Pics on request – email in profile.

    £12.50 posted?

    Yup!

S3 mount is exactly what you want. Running the E13 top only guide on my camber and works spot on.

Easy to fit and set up – combined with a clutch mech – I’m happy!

Okey dokes – they are sat here doing nothing so if you (or anyone else!) decides they don’t want to take the risk of a face to road/trail/rock meeting then let me know – e-mail in profile!

Out of interest what RS forks are they?

Just having a garage clearout and got a CSU from a set of RS Toras/Recon Silvers that are kicking about if you need them to get you going again?

It’s a genuine Hope one, was silver in colour but has had a coat of black spray paint to match my old calipers.

Spray paint is a bit tatty after its been knocking round the spares box but I’m sure you can fix that!

It’s of no use to me anymore, so it’s yours!

My email is in profile – send me your address and I can post it tomorrow.

If you don’t have any joy with the LBS drop me a message back and I’ll bung the spare is +20 mount I have in the post for you!

    A

What about using a Hope +20 is/is mount? Will mean increasing rotor size by 20mm but will allow you to keep same brakes and not modify the frame in any way?

    A

Edit – just checked CRC and no stock, but I’ve got one in the spares box you can have if you want to go down this route?

    ‘Tis easy……

Put your axle into the hub adaptor (only in the adaptor-not into the sleeve between hub bearings) and use axle as a lever and the caps will pop off.

They are held in by the interference fit of the black retaining ring over the cap.

Had two sets of specialized 20mm front hubs and that’s how I got them off (as shown by the local Spesh dealer)

Yeah, I got one earlier in the year. So far it’s been great.

Main reason for getting one was a bad collarbone break 18 months ago has left me with a nasty lump right where the straps sit of my previous camelbak, so the weight of the bladder caused me problems after 1:30-2 hour rides.

With the bladder round the waist I haven’t had any pain since. Also, it is easier to keep the LR snug against my back and it doesn’t want to ride up towards my shoulders when pointing down the trail.

Not as much storage as previous pack, but I can live with that for the increased comfort.

Wouldn’t go back to a standard camelbak now.

I second the advice of not to ride the day after – even better, don’t ride the afternoon after giving blood that morning…….

The nurse said, don’t plan any strenuous activity for the rest of the day – should have listened!!

Do it – I give blood every 4 months, we have the blood bus come to work for the day, so makes donating easy – my view is I’m likely to need some in a bike-related incident (given my injury history…….) so I might as well start banking it now!

What about a hose kit to fit the original 4-pot XT brakes from the late 90’s?

They had 90 degree banjo bolts. Might work – I’m sure shimano have always used the same thread size and pitch on levers, so they might be cross compatible?!

    Just a thought!

Mine doesn’t arrive until wednesday either!

Went for a medium. On the cusp of a medium and a large, but the medium felt a bit more chuckable! Felt very similar to my old 2004 enduro sx (only bike I never wish I’d sold!!)

No worries about the chainstay protector, I’ll grab one in the week (off work for a week so plenty of time to pick up bits!)

Was a last minute buy – on a whim!! I’ve got a mate who’s got one and loves it, so hopefully it’ll tick the boxes.

Aiming for a 26lb ish build with 1×10 and a reverb, so a good all day play bike!

    Sweet, thanks!

Yup, got a camber frame from bikescene. Just getting parts ready for when it arrives.

got an e-type mech in spares box but think I’ll go 1×10 on it.

    You pleased with yours?

Did it come with seat clamp and chainstay protector?

    Cool-thanks Rob.

Looking at it it looks like the reverb will just fit with the collar against the seat clamp.

Hopefully the seat tube is free from obstructions all the way down to allow me to fit the reverb in ok.

Thanks again Rob – really helpful!

A bit far to travel then!

How long is the seat tube on your large? BB axle to top of tube?

Sorry for all the questions-but it’s nice to find someone who has one that can help out with my questions!

I see. For some reason thought you had a reverb – might have been a different thread I was thinking of.

I’ll call on-one on Monday to see what they say.

What warranty does the FTM come with?

Just another one-what size did you get and how tall are you?

And what length/drop is your reverb? I’ve got the 420mm 125mm drop-just want to check it fits.

Don’t suppose you know what the head angle and BB height is with the 150 fork?

    Sweet – thanks!

I’d be running 150 revelations and 750 havoc bars too – with a reverb and 1×10 xt! You have good taste in kit!

What’s it like climbing and descending? I prefer the downs……..

I’m coming from a 2012 Five – had a Five (just sold it to another STW’er – who was great to deal with!) so in market for something around the 140mm travel mark.

    Hmmm, decisions!!

    Hi Rob,

Following with interest as it’s on my potential new frame list……

How does it handle? Bit unsure on the steep head angle-that’s the only thing that worries me at the moment!

I know you can’t fit an angleset but maybe you could fit offset bushes-what is the shock mount hardware like? M6 bolt or M8?

    I’m 5′ 10″ and leaning towards a medium.

    Thanks in advance,

    Trail-rat…..

OT but your van is a 1.9d NA right? Just wondering what difference your de-cat made?

Any probs at MOT time or performance issues?

I only ask as the exhaust on my berlingo van is starting to go (past starting really……) and It doesn’t look like its going to come off without a fight, so a grinder looks like a definate tool for the job!

    Thanks,

Definitely Andy. I’ll get some on Friday and ping them over. It’s a great colour, You’d swear it was polished Aluminium. The chain reflects in the swingarm just like polished ally. I love it.

    Cool, thanks!

I polished my old Five after seeing the article in Dirt magazine about lightening the Five – I loved it, it looked like a cylon-took bloody ages to do, but was awesome-shame it took so much effort to keep it looking great!

any chance of better or bigger pictures…….

really interested to see how shiny the powdercoat finish comes out – quite fancy that for my Five……

I’ve got a 2001 (so old shape) berlingo multispace (the car jobbie) that was my sis-in-laws.

Bloody brilliant for biking. Can get 2 bikes in complete with the rear seat folded (split seat-so still has 3 seats up) or 3 bikes in with front wheels out and 3 people + their kit.

Mines a 1.9 NA diesel-painfully slow but economical and simple to fix, but would suggest the 2.0 HDI if you can get one.

Ours is ideal for a family car for the wife due to having a toddler-sliding doors are brilliant-and I’d say it’s more practical with better load space than our c-max

Yup, M596 are servowave. Got a pair on all of my bikes now, can’t rate them highly enough for the money!

Merlin were doing them cheap if you didn’t want to go the Rose bikes route.

I really rate them-bought one set to try out before splashing the cash on SLX/XT ones (then the deores could go on the roadrat) but ended up so impressed I just left them on the bike and bought some more!

I’ve been running a hilo for just over a year-absolutely fine, no probs at all.

Mate has an i7 too and that’s been trouble free too, so either are good IMO.

Got my Hilo from Germany and used a Joplin remote from ebay and made the bit to fit the remote to the post from some aluminium bar-works a treat.

Reson why RS don’t make a 27.2 reverb is same as most others-the wall thickness for the upper stanchion would be too thick to allow for the required oil volume.

Hilo uses a stell upper to avoid this and the i7 uses a remote reservoir under the saddle in order to us an alu upper.
